I’m watching this for the second time. I am the descendant of those stolen from the shores of Africa over 400 years ago. I knows our ancestors prayed that they be released from their torture and return home. It’s taken 400 years but we are returning home!
Very interesting and informative video, these people suffered and were treated so badly, When the gentleman was explaining about the chains and not being able to stand up straight I had tears in my eyes . History is an important thing and because of people passing down the information from father to son it lives on for us all to remember and respect our ancestors. An important building such as this should be restored and opened as a museum in honour of all the hundred of thousand of all our ancestors that perished. Thank you once again for making this video and sharing it with us all. Not a happy video but essential for us all to see. Take care and stay safe.
Make sure you look after those places so we all never forget what was done and can avoid it ever happening again. Sad thing is, slavery is still widespread in some places in the Middle East and North Africa (Saudi Arabia, Libya). Sub Saharan Africans are often still treated like slaves by North Africans. You'd think the UN would stamp this out. Its a shitty unfair world our politicians have created.
I was looking forward to watching this one but now that I have I wish I didn't. Very painful, very disturbing and very difficult to watch. The thought of someone going through all of that in order for me to be here today. Thank you for making this video😢
Thank you for the full history about what happened in The Gambia after slavery. The story needs to be told to Africans about what happened to those slaves after they reached America. Kunta Kinte and the girl Fanta were sold separately. I must admit this video is one of the best historical videos about Gambian history that I’ve seen. Be Blessed.
Great information but made me cry to hear how my pple treated 😢. I have shared this with my kids. I leaving the west to go home to mother land.... Jah Jah. Keep the videos coming guys 👌🏿👊🏾
We the African have to reunite an wipe the tears of our ancestors. Is very sad to see how they treated us an should not repeated again. No more physical an mentally slavery

Sure it is very wide spread. Hoping our leaders will do something about it. Many people are suffering and no one to help them. SAD! 😭
