Dominican bachata? Is there bachata from another country?
Haha... good question. When it comes to dancing and modern music, definitely yes. I would say, that the way people dance bachata these days in Europe comes from Spain and the USA. Some people like to call it bachata sensual or bachata moderna. The expression "Dominican bachata" doesn't describe only the country of origin, but also the style.

I have trouble understanding the footwork as there is not a good camera view (side or POV always works great). Looks like they are all kicks, so how is the 'kick' different than the rest? Looks like it's a kicking motion all the time and the a step in place for the 1-2-3. Thanks.

Yeah, it was one of our first videos, and I am thinking about redoing it, because now we know a lot more of how to position the camera and ourselves to make it clearer. The "kicks" before steps are different, because they are technically not kicks. More like swings of legs leading to the step. So instead of making a step from top, we slide the foot from the front. The idea is that you accent the step, not the kick. And the only kick, that is accented is the one at the end, before the double step. I don't know if it is understandable
The Bachata partner classes are some of the best I've seen. Detailed, easy to follow, tips, and plenty of practice. Excellent!

I've been once in Cuba and never in Dominican Republic.
We have a great access to the top Latin artists in Europe - there are Latin festivals and congresses almost every weekend. Or should I say... "there used to be", because obviously they were not taking place this year. Let's hope the next year will be better.
yes they are amazing aren't they? My fantasy is that they lived in Cuba with rum parties and tropical flowers, dancing all night.
i think it's wrong to teach with such fast bachata. there are other dominican bachatas which are slower
when you went at double speed it was TOOOOO fast. I even halved the speed on the video and it was difficult to follow because, lets face it, it was challenging for you guys too.
