Thank you for this tip! Question: what is the point of using a light (and eventually materials) as its the camera projector that is doing the job and so it works without ?
This was so strange, i thought i understood more or less the basics of nuke and it seems like i dont lol. i couldnt recreate the same effect. until i realise i needed a scene node. and until know i thought it was useless
Can you please explain to me how it can work in the moment when people are not just 2d Tobi standing with both legs in same axes. When are people walking is there alway the gap between the feet and the leg that is on the ground and further from the camera then appears in the shadow as if it were in the air. They don't even have to walk, just stand still. Thansk for the answer:)
I understand what you mean. You can try rotating the card in z space or use geo if it's available. You can also cut toby down the middle, one for each leg and match the cards per leg. If that doesnt work for your shot you can also just fill it in with roto. Not ideal solutions sadly.
Thank you soo much !! Your idea brought me a different approach to setting up the shadows !!
glad it was helpful!
I love these videos, thanks!
Thanks a lot for making this videos, you're much appreciated❤❤❤
No problem, thanks for watching!
Cool. thanks.
That's the old shadow map of the early days of computer graphics :)
🙏 thank you!
Glad I could help, thanks for your comment!
Could you do a similar setup for floor reflections? This is currently the bane of my existence
Sure thing. You can basically do the same as I did with the shadow, but good idea for a new video
Thank you for this tip!

You're right, that might've been unneccesary. It's because I copied over the setup from the Vray thing I did.
