    Can you please explain to me how it can work in the moment when people are not just 2d Tobi standing with both legs in same axes. When are people walking is there alway the gap between the feet and the leg that is on the ground and further from the camera then appears in the shadow as if it were in the air. They don't even have to walk, just stand still. Thansk for the answer:)

      I understand what you mean. You can try rotating the card in z space or use geo if it's available. You can also cut toby down the middle, one for each leg and match the cards per leg. If that doesnt work for your shot you can also just fill it in with roto. Not ideal solutions sadly.

    Eu testei em uma cena com um walkcycle em direção à câmera, logo existe uma diferença de escala ao longo do footage, ao aplicar esse método tive um erro na junção do pé, resultando em corrigir com um transform após a projeção da sombra, o animando no começo e no final. Existe algum modo de não precisar adicionar esse transform para essa correção? Imagino ter ocorrido isso devido a diferença de escala ao longo do caminhar.

    Hey Pim really useful tip! Can you explain the thought process behind the mask input, why use difference as a mask instead of the alpha from the rotopaint node? Is there a specific reason for it.

    • @pimmeijer7589
      @pimmeijer7589 3 місяці тому

      There's no real reason, just make sure that the Alpha is crisp with no or little feather otherwise you get weird results. I just like using the difference because it's simpler when you have a lot of changes on the plate.

    Cheers! I'll make use of nuke.execute(), I've been looking for he GUI equivalent of $gui. Does it always work like $gui or are there situations where Nuke starts its own execution process for a second which also triggers that expression state? If you're in the middle of tweaking something, you don't want it to swap to a heavy render intermittently. The timingFrame expression is a great one to know as well.

      Yeah getting a good key on tough plates is one of the most difficult things to do. What you definitely want to do is try mixing different keys for different things. Get a IBK for the hair, get a Primatte for the inner hard mattes and a Keylight can be useful. After that if you're not able to get a good key you can try an ADD keyer, Luma key, etc for specific details. I'll think about it, the tough part for me is getting production level plates for stuff like that since I obviously can't use the ones from the companies I work at due to NDA's.
