Being that I don't know her I can't speak on whether she's just using it for fashion or she knows about it. @@bluerose8165 she didn't make the braids- the people who made the braids were African descendants during the time they were in slavery . African people feel like they are having their culture taken away from them because other people are using it . Our culture is very important to us because it is what makes us feel accepted and after we have dealt with so much racism ( even today). We feel like having this is one of the only things that we can keep for ourselves. Braids and other hairstyles in our culture can make us feel like we are beautiful and happy and not "uglier" like some racist people would say. It is a way of us uplifting each other and celebrating each other after all we have been through but for people who aren't black wearing braids is a way of looking "trendy" or "cool" . I hope you understand because that was as best that i could explain it
@@knm505 yes but a lot of Africans are happy to see other people with braids and they feel honoured about it. I saw a lot of African people making braids for their daughters friends. So I don't understand how can it be CA if African and African American themselves are happy to see other trying those hairstyles

@@bluerose8165 I understand but when you wear something from somebody else's culture is can make them feel like they don't have any culture to keep for themselves. Especially in this situation with the braids- i feel as a black person that our culture is being stripped away from us as more people are using it as a sign to look "cool" or "trendy". When black people wear braids, they don't do it to look trendy and cool. They do it because it makes them feel connected to their black community and accepted after we had to deal with so much unacceptance and racism because of our culture/skin colour. I feel like that is something that some non-black people don't understand when they use our culture like that.
