Received a Connect Systems CS580, possibly one of the first in the UK? so far really impressed and it’s about time that we had a “Ham” radio DMR transceiver and this is nearly it. Nice display, build quality feels and looks good and easy to use straight out of the box, far cheaper then a "Scanner" ;-)
Excellent Job Sir! I think I want one. This Rig would suit my needs being Front Panel Programmable. Don't like all the MD-380 computer headaches as I'm not a Computer Person and would be using this Rig through the Local Repeaters in my area. Thanks for the Good Video. KC4CQS, 73!
Any chance you'll review a Connect Systems CS760 in the future ? I have the TYT MD390 and like it, BUT I prefer a larger, more robust and commercial type of portable. The CS760 looks like it might have those qualities I'm looking for. I have a lot of friends who feel the same way I do. Hint...hint Grapevine. :) Thanks for your videos !!!
Looks like a cool radio. I'm interested in getting into dmr. I just got my license last month. On the scanning of all frequencies, my little Baofeng does that, both scanning of saved channels and open frequencies within the prescribed range. Is that really a rare feature? I figured that would be run of the mill like our car radios have done for years.
The scanning feature isn't just a scan of the frequencies - it scans and picks up all freqs, CC, TS and TG details from a DMR repeater, and yes that is rare.
Thanks for the info on this radio. Still learning about DMR as it is all new to me.

Hi there, from whom did you purchase your radio for delivery to UK? thanks
@@humaxf1 how can we contact you to link you with our UK distributor?
The scan feature is nice especially when it finds the CC and SLOT by itself.

if you look on the VA3XPR website there is a firmware update that makes the md-380 scan like this radio does. Thanks for the video, very informative.
Cool! I'm on the road every other week. this might be a nice add.

Thanks Ham, BFDX is using a new brand in overseas market as " BelFone" now.
Thanks for the review!
Thanks for watching
Hopefully you'll do an episode on the new CSI CS760
Yep, as soon as they are ready
Thanks for this. Do you have any info on available Speaker mics for this ?
No I don't. BFDX was never good about making speaker-mics, but maybe CSI had them do some for this model
SUBSCRIBED I LIKE THIS RADIO. THANKS FOR THE REVIEW. W9DES
Thanks for watching.

Yes, as soon as it is available, I plan to do a video on it.

Have you tried removing a TG already in the contacts list to see if the radio recognises the TG number? Would be useful as a 'scanner'
Does it have encryption like the 380? Thank you for the great review.
Yes
New Sub here. K4RJJ. You sold me. Is the programming cable the same as the MD-380? Thanks!
Ronny Julian No, different cables
Great video! Can the cs580 send/receive texts with the MD380? I hope they're not using some weird proprietary messaging system.
Haven't tried, but I don't see why not.
Well, I've ordered a cs580…will test my idea when it arrives.
For the record, it is working! CS released a firmware update just before I received the radio that allows it to txt with MD380.
Does this Radio have TX tone TPT??!?
Is the dm380 still a solid choice for a newbe to DMR?
MD380. And yes. This CS-580 is good also, and easier to program from the front panel.
Thanks, ordered this one. Seems like it will fit in pocket better.
