Over the years I've bought so many phasers and never been totally satisfied. All along I was unaware of how sweet a flanger could be, until I heard this unit on YT. I bought one & now it's on most of the time, mostly on minimum regen, max for some psychedelic numbers. Like the chaps say, there are no bad settings.
After buying the pedal 6 months ago, I realized I no longer needed a chorus, it's pretty insane how many great sounds can be found in this 2 knob pedal and it's analog. I own the Digitech Nautila and thought I loved it until I plugged this pedal. That setting at @7:15 is excellent, Cheers Boys!!
This is my favourite Flanger. I had a DOD that was too artificial. I had the EVH, but had some real volume loss, and was too big for my board. This one actually has a bit of a volume boost and is so easy and fun to use. Sounds great all the time.
Thanks guys, great demo of the flanger. I just picked up the m152 and I think it’s a great analog flanger. Very warm tones thanks to the 100% bucket brigade technology. And as you said there isn’t a bad sound in it. This is my first time trying a flanger and it won’t be going back. Still messing with it but my god, you can’t make it sound bad. That’s a winner in my opinion. Take care guys ✌🏻
Great demo thank you. Love those clean sounds early on especially the low resonance faster rate stuff, better for those kind of things than chorus methinks… sweet spot between phaser and chorus? I shall have to acquire one a find out…. and yes MXR makes very solid stuff
I like the dark sound of that one, especially on the lower tuning. Have you guys ever tried the EHX Neo Mistress? It's a great pedal, and you can really nail some Alice in Chains Rooster tones. Cheers!
For $100.00 USD it is very impressive. If you go to endless sites that sell both a Phaser and a Chorus you will note they do not offer a Flanger because it is very difficult to get right. It is good way if noting the level of skill of the pedals sold on a site when they offer a Phaser and a Chorus but not a Flanger.
how is a flanger "more difficult to get right" than a chorus? they are practically the same circuit (assuming we are talking about analog BBD-based choruses/flangers).
Is it just me or do Flangers just sound amazing when used with distortion / dirty channel. Give me a Chorus for clean but Distortion got to Flange it up 😎
@@TSFAHTPS Definitely, that's exactly what I want it for and after watching so many videos this one showed me that warm lush sound I've been looking for, getting one of these, thanks for the great video!
Maybe see if you can find someone near where you live who knows a bit about pedals…with analogue pedals it’s often only something very simple that can be fixed easily
Nice...any idea why my mxr flanger does not work (producing Just a rotative awful noise...)in send return of mesa caliber and fender de ville buy It s ok in send return of Marshall 6100
It’s sad that flanging became two things the regenerative thing most popular and my favorite thru zero 99 percent of flangers won’t do simple thru zero which is where flanging was born

amazing little beast,
Highly recommended

It really does sound great at every setting. Impressive!
So many optiona and sounds from 2 knobs is amazing
For me flanger is one of those effects that I almost never need but if I do,it's a micro flanger...I've tried almost all of the 'big' ones out there
Oooo love me a good Flanger and from the moment that this one gets switched on works and sounds fantastic. Very nice.

Absolutely…it sounds good at any setting…really impressive
The 2 o'clock rate setting and 10 o'clock regen sounds sweeeeeeeeeeet

Glad you like it…and yeah it’s pretty much impossible to make it sound bad!!
Thanks Brian!!

Good playing and great video! I'll have to go order one now. Lol.
The pedal sounds really good in this demo. I’d be really curious to hear it compared to a 117R, BF-2 or Retrosonic Flanger. Maybe a shootout?
We had to send this one back to the distributor…sadly…but I’ll see if I can arrange something and maybe get them to send it to us again for a shootout
It's sound is nice and pleasant.

For the price sounds good!🙂

Would you do a demo on the trex chorus flanger
If I can get my hands one one then for sure

I really like flanger with a low tuned guitar on clean sounds with lots of delay and reverb…there is just something about it

I have a vintage early micro flanger, love it, but it gradually craps out after a minute or two. Not sure how to fix it.
Maybe see if you can find someone near where you live who knows a bit about pedals…with analogue pedals it’s often only something very simple that can be fixed easily
I think you just made my chorus pedal obsolete...at least for my Leslie style bits.
Glad you liked it!! Its such nice modulation…I really like it!!

Oh really?? That’s odd…unless there is something wrong with the Mesa fx loop?!?
@@TSFAHTPS thanks..yes It can be, though other pedals work well in the loop...
Can it do airplane flanger sound or not?
No. It does nothing extreme or metallic. Some very inexpensive flangers do the airplane. The TC Thunderstorm & Fender Hammertone are worth a look too.
🤘👍🏿
Always keep it simple learn expression not knob fiddling
