Birding Diary: Atlantic Puffin & Razorbill at Machias Seal Island

07/21/2024 Atlantic puffin in the morning sunlight at Machias Seal Island, my fourth trip to this amazing bird’s territory. Thanks Bold Coast Charter Co. for hosting the gorgeous excursion of the wildlife remoteness. Machias Seal Island is a disputed land between the United States of America and Canada, and the water surrounding the island is called gray zone, where both American and Canadian fishermen come. We love the fact that the island is occupied by birds in the breeding season.
