I have family in New England, so I've seen quite a bit of New York State. Aside from the Big Apple I've also seen Albany, FDR's house at Hyde Park, a bit of the Adirondacks, Buffalo, some of the Finger Lakes, Ithaca, and Niagara Falls. I haven't seen much of the really scenic parts of the Hudson Valley or Long Island (even though a lot of my relatives live in Connecticut just across the Sound; on a clear day you can see Long Island from near my aunt's house in Old Saybrook).
yay new york!!! i am studying rn in manhattan, and i spent about 6 months living outside of rochester when i was 10! (i lived in fairport, so when you mentioned it in this video i jumped a little lol). new york is my favorite state, and i’m glad to see it mapped out in an installment of this series. great video as per usual!
I’m from Long Island (actually just one town north of New Hyde Park, one of the locations you got) and went to undergrad at Cornell (which is near Cayuga Lake). I’ve been to all boroughs of NYC, and I’ve also visited Niagara Falls, the Catskills, and some parts of Westerchester, and the Adirondacks. New York State is so much more than just manhattan, and it will forever be my favorite state!
Great video! My mother grew up outside of Syracuse and we've still got a bunch of family in the Finger Lakes area, so I've been up there a bunch. Also been to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown and went to New York City for the first time last year!
i was born and lived in saratoga springs NY for 8 years it is the most historical beautiful little town and i highly recommend lake george which is about an hour away !
In 2019, my family and I went to Niagara Falls; we stayed in Canada, but we reentered the United States at Niagara Falls, NY. We drove down through Buffalo and stopped in Jamestown to visit the Lucille Ball museum and childhood home. We went to an American Tim Horton's but it was not as good as Canadian Tim Horton's. We left New York on I-86 on our way back home.
The state I was born in! I lived in NY since I was 2 years old then moved to FL. I don't really remember much when I was living there but I often visit NY to see my family. Back in September of 2022, I stayed in Goshen. Goshen is a super nice town and I visited an amazing cool park. Hope to go back there very soon!
Went to NYC for the first time in 20 years in 2021 and I loved it! I’ve also done Buffalo and Niagara when I was maybe 12 but I’d love to get back to explore upstate, Adirondack park, cooperstown, and get back to NYC for a Mets game since I only caught a Yankees game
Been to NYC lots of times, as it is only a few hours from DC. My dad is from Riverdale, in the Bronx. I have been upstate a few times, including road trips to/from Vermont when I went to a Middlebury language school in 2003, and once to Falcon Ridge Folk Festival back when it was close to the NY/MA border. I remember a lot of time on the Taconic State Parkway.
I've been to NY State 3 times, each time either landing or connecting through LGA, JFK, or EWR. The first trip I went on to Utica for a week. The next trip I worked in Kingston, and the last trip was to Poughkeepsie. Landing at the airports and taking the Hudson Valley Airporter north were the only times I had ever been in NYC. So I've never set foot in Manhattan.
Born and raised in the city, I've been waiting for this episode for so long! I've been through Fort Ham and 47th street so many times, so that was a wild loc to get, especially since every time I play this map, I get dumped in rural upstate NY
I have been to NYC in 2017 on my first ever (and rn only) US trip. It was one of the 3 states i have visited with the other ones being California and Hawaii. NYC was a cool experience but if i could go back i would for sure choose to go back to Cali or Hawaii over NYC. I'd love to see more places in US though. Maybe one day i'll be back :)
I had a long layover at JFK and took the AirTrain and the subway to Manhattan. Very quick visits to Empire State Building and Times Square. Then back to catch my next flight.
As a former New Yorker and Long Islander I'm screaming into the ether having been on all those streets and locations and recognized them. I noticed you slide by utility trucks but they often have the names of the towns they're from on them.
Finally my home state! I was super excited for this episode, great job!
I've spent some time in the Albany-Saratoga area and been up towards Lake George and the Adirondacks. Probably my favorite part of the state.
a bit biased but i completely agree
I'm biased too I'm from Plattsburgh lol

As an upstate New Yorker I can confirm everywhere looks the same

I grew up right around where you spawned in Freeport. I used to drive those roads all the time. Awesome to see great video cg

Cool to hear you came to Rochester and the Finger lakes. Thats my area, from just outside the city in Webster NY.
NY is one of my favorite states I've visited! I've been to NYC, Albany, and Elmira and enjoyed them all.
You enjoyed Elmira?

Been to NYC 3 times, every time I leave I can’t wait to go back! One of the best cities in the world

Great series - looking forward to this.
9:30 I used to live in Saratoga I knew exactly where that was!
I've never been to New York. But I do want to visit NYC sometime. Such an iconic city.
I live in Europe but I have family in Youngstown, NY, right by the border, really ccool to see this
I live in Saratoga county and immediately recognized the 9:31 location!
My wife was born and raised in Ithaca, so I've been there many times, as well as NYC.
Grew up in Upstate NY, so spent quite a bit of time there!
Round 3 was crazy, I thought I was pretty good at aligning road angles but you were too quick with it 😮💨

Commenting in honor of Phineas since he is still in jail and without internet access 😔✊
:chicago7:
Big P domain
