I hate to say it, but Harris being out SAVED the season for Ole Miss. The coaches weren't learning ANYTHING from their losses. They just came back and did the same thing expecting a different result (Einstein's definition of "insanity"). Once Harris went out the Coaches and Dart HAD to discover all the other amazing options they had on the field. They learned the power of our tight ends again. They stopped trying to throw the long ball every play and reconnected with the sweet spot over the middle. Harris, in my opinion, has been the MVP of the last three games, with Simmons sharing the award in the Georgia game. I can only imagine how hot the Rebels will be with Harris and Diggs back on the field now that we have a new game plan and mindset. It could be EPIC!
People laugh but Ole Miss' season changed drastically the second the squirrel hit the field in the Oklahoma game. They looked like a completely different team after that game delay. They've maintained that new look ever since. Then we got a "Grover the Lucky Squirrel" booster shot in the Georgia game.
Fans not knowing the clock rules gave Georgia an extra $250K. Thats a $500k swing for athletic budgets. If you know anyone who stormed the field, they owe the Grove Collective at least $10.
To be fair to Georgia, I don't think any team in the nation would have beaten the Ole Miss we saw on Saturday. Few teams could have scored against that defense. The only thing that I think Georgia screwed up on is they should have blitzed Dart more. I kept thinking that they were going to figure that out but they never did, and I'm very glad. I would bet my bottom dollar that the Florida Gators will figure that out very quickly in film study. O-line, be ready for some serious blitzing in the Swamp.
Beck is getting too much hate. Saw a Georgia podcaster talking about it. Georgia's OLine is trash, and is due to Matt Luke. Luke was coaching Pittman's recruits, and Luke failed miserably in recruiting the OLine at Georgia. He recruited 9 total in 3 years, all but one were 3 stars. Only one occasionally sees snaps. The rest have been either been processed out, or are on the bench. Said Luke is elite at coaching the OLine, but is trash at recruiting that position.
I agree that we won't know if that was the most consequential game for three more weeks. I never underestimate Ole Miss' ability to screw up a wet dream. The old Ole Miss anyway. I'm hoping and praying that the new Ole Miss can get that monkey off our backs. But Kentucky was proof that we aren't there yet. I think it was the best game, not only because it was Georgia, and it keeps us in the playoffs hunt, but HOW they did it after that disastrous, horrible, almost couldn't have been worse, first possession.
This is not the same team or head coach we saw in the KY game. Quoting Steven Willis : "Lane Kiffin has gone from "Offensive Guru" to "Elite Head Coach" as this season has progressed. I am saying it right now. That rain during the Ole Miss-Georgia game washed away all the WAOM that existed.
Georgia fan here. You guys handed it to us. We did not do our job and you did do yours. See you next year. Congrats.

Ulysses Bentley had a good game, too.
Lane passed up FG on next opportunity after missing the first one against LSU. Cost us that game.

They were scared to blitz because they knew they would get torched. They could not stop quick slants, hitches etc even when only rushing 4.
Hydr!!
