It's hard to break from the pre-NIL habits, isn't it? With NIL, there IS no better next year because some of the team will transfer. You have no dependable nexus to that will be there next year to work from. Each year is a rebuilding year. That's part of why Saban left.

The player are either uncoachable or not being adequately coached. Bottom line is in this situation this coach signed nearly all of these players. This is the most inept division 1 football team I have ever seen. Ultimately, the AD is responsible for hiring the coaches and the President & board are responsible for hiring ADs that don't know what they're doing. Mullen & Schaefer were what held their programs together and Cohen ran Schaefer off. All in all, this many bad hires in a row and the screwups make it obvious the problem is at the top.

Just now, State suck on all fronts. Cohen, who state refused to get rid of, destroyed state athletics. Whoever hires at State doesn’t know what the fxxk they're doing. And it's not likely to change with NIL. I'm tired of arguing with people who would hire Moorehear and the others so I just watching. I scraped the MSU sticker off my car. Most pro games are rigged and the supreme court has destroyed amateur athletics.

I went to watch State v LSU in back to back seasons in ‘22 and ‘23 in Baton Rouge and Starkville and it’s incredible how different the experience was.

Guys lets be real here. Coach Hutzler is not ready to be a DC in the SEC. There are 2 ways to handle this. You fire him today or you give him some expirienced coach on the side. But what i dont get is that Coach Turner is still around the program and he should really do better. He had so many success with defensive players who came through State, he should know what it takes to be a D-lineman in the SEC.

Let me also say this...tailgating is a bigger hassle today than it has ever been. The push toward the tailgating companies and the campus changes that eliminate some traditional tailgating spots make it less and less attractive to make the effort. We've had to relocate 3 of the last 4 years due to campus changes and landscaping decisions and it feels like we are being pushed more and more to the junction and dealing with that mess and the super expensive companies that rent those spaces. I hate to be a "back in my day" none of that was an issue.

So it goes without saying that the product on the field is always the most important. Moving on from that and talking about fan experience and engagement: We fell off fast the last 8 or so years in regards to where we were heading with fan experience. I think we made massive improvements during the Strickland/Bryne years and we've gone stagnant. The sound system sucks. The music selection is highly questionable and not nearly varied enough. I've seen high school stadiums in lower classifications with more impressive lighting systems. The use of the video board is a joke. Hardly any replays. The video board ribbons around the stadium are routinely showing scores from 45 minutes before. And the "new" endzone section is grey and white and clean looking while the sideline stands are older looking and by contrast dingy and dirty. Can we not paint those areas? We've definently hit a rut and stalled out. And that starts with the AD position.
