Pretty countryside…I’m a tall American, my late mother was full blooded Dutch. I’ve decided to start buying used clothing, once I read that new clothing and fast fashion are taking there toll on our environment. It is crazy on how much water is needed for one garment. Happy fall to you!
Would definitely love to see more of your house tours, they give me so much inspiration. Have collected cottage style French furniture for 40 years here in Australia and love to see how one adds different touches in their houses. I am lucky that years ago imported furniture here was relatively cheap compared to now . Thank you for your videos
When I watch your videos a calm comes over me and I think , “I want to move to France” …..maybe someday 😊 I love to watch you cook so effortlessly because I struggle to cook . fall is my favorite (followed by winter, no pun intended) here in the southeast region of the USA.....we live through such hot and humid long summers.....fall is like a cool fresh drink of water when one is parched for me!

Such a beautiful, inspiring video! I grew up in New York, but now live near Houston, Texas and, as it is 97degrees (F) today, Fall is really just a state of mind! I recently signed up for The French Channel, but have put off watching anything, but you have motivated me to begin. I studied French in high school and college - over 50 years ago - and took French "lessons" for several years with a Parisienne lady whose husband's job brought her to Texas. We actually just met a a local French restaurant and spoke French for an hour every week. We became good friends but unfortunately, she moved back to France last year. I bought your lovely book, but again have put off making anything - just looking at the photos and drooling - but I think I will make the pear tart this week. By the way - I love the photo of you on page 176! And yes, you look very tall in the videos. About your height, you would say that you are 5 foot 10, or maybe 5 feet, 10 inches tall. I understand about the problem with pants legs as I am very short! You sound and look very busy but please know that your videos are much appreciated and enjoyed. I am so glad that you take the time to make them. I feel like I have a wonderful friend on the other side of the world.

Ben je bekend met ‘Gort over de grens’? Misschien kan je deze terugkijken op NPO. Het is wel voornamelijk nederlands gesproken maar Ilja Gort bezoekt al jaren verschillende streken van Frankrijk en maakt ook contact allemaal gericht op eten en drinken. Tevens een stukje geschiedenis erbij. Misschien is het wat voor je. 😉
Ja ik ken dat programma! En ilja ook. Die heeft helaas ooit zonder overleg videobeelden van mij gebruikt voor de promotie van zijn boek en dat viel me zo tegen van hem! Vooral hoe hij reageerde toen ik hem daarover contacteerde. Maar hij laat prachtige stukken frankrijk zien inderdaad en het heeft dat heerlijke Franse campagne sfeertje wat ik erg waardeer!

Just adore your kitchen. Why do you have two stoves in it? I grew up on a farm and a wood stove was what we had. Why did you want one?
In the winter we will use the wood fired stove to heat the space and we can cook on it at the same time. In the summer we didn’t want the heat of the wood fired stove so we have a gas one for the warmer months
