    These songs and games were the glue that held me together as a child. I grew up in a turbulent house of alcoholics and on top of that I was bullied at school for being autistic. I dealt with a lot of things I shouldn't have had to as a kid, way more than I'm willing to tell on UA-cam. These games were one of my few sources of happiness in my chaotic little world and the music nearly brings me to tears. Thank you for this.

    • @jennyzhao9271
      @jennyzhao9271 4 роки тому +65

      Twilight Princess just has that beautiful quality to it that tugs at your heartstrings. I'm glad you found happiness from this special game as well :)

    • @thilsiktonix
      @thilsiktonix 4 роки тому +110

      I'm also autistic, I'm incredibly sensitive and my family just loved to push my limits as a child, no matter how much I screamed, begged, and cried for them to stop. People online bullied me for my age, but most people were supportive of me, thank goodness. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was a part of my childhood, something I can remember being brought into my life before my parents divorced, and before my life went downhill.
      I remember playing the game when I was much, much younger. Crying every time I lost, yet getting better and better every time I played. I remember one day, when I was 4, my dad buying the game at night and coming back to the car to show it to me. I was amazed by the cover art.. But when I got to playing the game, I was pretty stunned.
      I can't say I was a person who loved games. My parents divorced at 5, and my mom, 1-year-old brother, and I moved away from my dad. But, I loved this game. I love this game still. The music, as well as the gameplay itself, is that rare kind of type that you form a connection to.
      I can't explain how much I love this in words. Maybe my tears will help do that for me? ;')
      These songs remind me that there's still love. There's still life. We're not dead yet. There's still time, time to take advantage of our lives and live to our full potentials. Have fun while it lasts, before our joints grow stiff and our knees no longer bend.
      Good night, person who's reading this. No matter what happens, life gets better, no matter how long that period of "betterness" lasts.. Cherish it. Goodbye

    There’s something special about Twilight Princess. It’s the Zelda game that’s stuck with me forever, something about the somber atmosphere and heartfelt bond you form that’s just.. Different from the others? I first got the game when I was about 7, but chickened out at the first sight of the Deku plant. Forgot about it for a long time. Six years later, I finished the game. Even today, I still think about TP a lot: I’ll doodle wolf Links and Midnas on everything I can, whether it’s napkins or school papers. It was just an experience to remember, and I’ll never forget it.

    • @deoxysoverlord8710
      @deoxysoverlord8710 5 років тому +33

      This comment is just lovely, and I feel the same! The atmosphere is just so peaceful and calm, and so relaxing. It's not too light hearted and kid friendly like Wind Waker, and it's more mature than Ocarina. But it still somehow manages to be the most relaxing and peaceful Zelda game out of them all. Just the way I close my eyes and dream while I listen to the becalming Twilight Princess music makes me feel like I'm at rest, and awaiting to be put into paradise, with the reassurance of the soothing Twilight Princess music and atmosphere to guide me.

    • @islandboy9381
      @islandboy9381 5 років тому +12

      @@deoxysoverlord8710 I respectfully disagree with Wind Waker being kid friendly. Yes it has the most cartoonish artstyle out of all the games, but it's storyline and themes are just as mature as the other games; a post-apocalyptic Hyrule because the previous Link disappeared, characters dealing with loss and change, Link stabbing Ganon through the head ect.

    • @deoxysoverlord8710
      @deoxysoverlord8710 5 років тому +10

      @@islandboy9381 Still a game most kids can enjoy moreso like the Mario games, which are also dark in their own secretive ways. Like the dancing, faces, and humor of Wind Waker. Not that it isn't mature like all the other Zelda games, it's just that Twilight Princess is more mature, dark, and serious than Wind Waker, even if it still has its funny moments at times. And also I was talking about the atmosphere, not the overall game.

      People can't get over the wolf. I liked wolf link. His combat incentives not spamming one attack. Although they should have given him a finisher move. But again, enemies don't fall if you don't use the jump attack.

    • @solarwolf1336
      @solarwolf1336 4 роки тому +3

      Joey Roth - Twilight princess isnt a hard game either way, it’s the easiest Zelda game in the series as far as I know, just about every enemy has one, long startup, predictable attack. You can hold L target (which most people already do) to hold up your shield and make you invincible in 1v1 combat. Even the heavy hitters that stun links shield with their hit give him more then enough time to recover before attacking again. Ganon being the exception. The hidden skills are spammable, as is the spin attack that wolf link and midna do.
      This isn’t a complaint for a lot of people, but I love difficulty to death, so I don’t like it.

    I'm playing through this game for the first time. I started at the end of summer 2019 (7-28-2019). Now that school started, I will play this every Friday night while my older sister watches. I have already seen the gameplay because my older brother and older sister played this game so much but I never actually played this back in 2007 or whenever our family got Twilight Princess. I'm always excited for Fridays and I'm sure this game will be quite an experience.

    I still remember Twilight Princess as the first Zelda game I ever played. It was a game unlike the more upbeat and over cheerful games I had on the GameCube. This is so relaxing and helps me feel better, thank you for putting it up for us. ;( ;) I love the artwork of Midna and what's cool about Midna is thay she can warp Link through portals of the Twilight @ any given time (provided that Link can transform into a Wolf without anyone noticing) ;( ;) I love Link, he is my favorite in the entire world, and I learned so much from his characteristics on how to be courageous in my own life. For me, this life is The Land of Hyrule and like Link, I must use my Wisdom and Power from within with Gods help, to defeat Ganon and his realm. Link taught me to be courageous in the midst of fear and challenges. Link taught me about compassion for others, to help them through my determination. Link is physically very adept without weapons. The best thing that I learned from Link is silence, and that silence comes from so much being at stake that he feels it necessary to stay strong and silently bear any burden. That's one of the reasons Link is so beautiful inside and out, he is the embodiment of a strong peaceful hero and a true individual of character. I wish I could actually meet Link and join him in Hyrule, it's so peacfeul there. These songs on this album that was so beautifully created is a true beacon of hope and helps me relax and be in tune with my mindful moments.;( ;) 😇🌤💕💗🌞🌈 thanks ;(;)

      I love all of them, but the going island to island aspect of Wind Waker hasn't left me. IT just felt..so big and amazing. The music adding to that. It was perfect. So much good in this series.

      Personally, I play Zelda for bosses, dungeons, and the music throughout. Recent Zelda's open world design degrades or removes a lot of those elements imo, or puts the adventure into a "complete it whenever" zone. Since open world games are sandboxes, plot progression has to be dialed back to account for some players going left first and some going right etc. etc. etc. Pacing takes an arrow to the knee in open world games, so I suppose, I prefer Zelda to be "active". TP is active, something is always going on, and once Link turns into a Wolf the plot is a roller coaster ride.

    You know, Ganon was defeated in TP, but well... That ending didn't feel final in the worst way. I literally spent nights crying over these characters and the dissatisfaction I felt with the ending, the way Link and Midna went their seperate ways despite Midna possibly being the first and only character Link could be seen dating outside Zelda or "mysterious childhood girl that goes through shared trials and tribulations with Link"...
    No other companion comes close in terms of the amount of love I feel for a character... Midna, you were a real one and I only wish I had gotten a return of you interacting with Link in more than the game... I wish I'd gotten the ending I'd dreamed of as a child, that you and Link would grow old happily. That Dark and Light could co-exist, that Twilight didn't have to disappear, just as Light didn't have to leave her life... That you'd stay close, maybe have smaller adventures, that once in a blue moon, late at night, one could see an Imp and Wolf cuddled up in the moonlight, or taking a quiet walk through Hyrule Field...
    Anyways yeah who else kinda fell in love with Midna when you hadn't really had a crush on anyone irl or fictional before that? Just me?

    This game, ladies and gentlemen, helped me get through the bullying I suffered in midschool. I owe so much to this videogame and its soundtrack. Every day after school I just wanted to play my Wii and jump on Twilight Princess. Inside the game there were no bullying, no hate. I was the hero there, I was the one who saves the princess. The one who explores the whole world, and defeat evil. I felt back then that I was actually someone who matters there. I remember this game with love and passion, but a bit of sadness too. I cannot describe how upset I was. My music choice is slim. I rarely branch out. I like repetition. Coming home to the same order of songs. I switch mixes when I want a different emotion. I get lost in the rhythm and familiarity of a mix. You have no idea how much it hurt to see it go with no warning. Sure there are other mixes but they didn't have the same feelings. The order of songs had changed. I am not mad. You didn't choose to do it, and even if you did, who cares? Needless to say, I have eternal happiness to see that my random hope that you had returned was true.

I hold onto a lot of Zelda games dearly. Several times I will find that I forget so much that happens in a single play through of each game because they are so vast yet whenever I remember, even the smallest little thing, it feels warm and nostalgic. Every experience, every song, every little memory brings me back.

    This was always my favourite zelda, I dont think its fair to compare breath of the wild to the others cause thats amazing for a whole different reason. But twilight princess was the first Zelda i beat right through, and is probably what made me go and complete all the others I didn't finish. I think I was trying to get that same feeling again, but nothing lived up to the story of TP. Honestly cried when Midna left at the end...

    Something about these songs perfectly captures that strange sadness when dusk falls.. When you're on the border of yesterday and tomorrow. The feeling of staring into a twilit sky with the weight of the universe staring back at you. When your past present and future come crashing together for one moment in your mind's eye. Longing for yesterday, trepidatious of tomorrow. You can never quite place it... That feeling of melancholy.

    When the credits rolled, I immediately wanted to forget everything about this game just to experience it all again. No game nor entertainment medium has given me that feeling for over 10 years now. And I doubt there ever could. This game is pure magic, a bliss that can never be topped.

    I use this as sleep music and it works, it puts my mind in a happy sleepy state, it makes me think about my childhood and when I'd run around as a wolf link around Hyrule because playing as a wolf as a kid was funner than playing with toys or playing outside. It brings back so many good memories, and makes my mind at ease, I could listen to this and id feel like all my problems would just go away, twilight princess music is top tier music, along with some other Zelda music and Splatoon music :)

    This is great to listen to when I need to unwind or I'm feeling nostalgic for one of my favorite games growing up.
