  • Welcome to 5 Minutes With Phil, where I babble about something for roughly 5 minutes. This first episode's a bit boring because it sets the scene, but I can assure you I have all sorts of weird stuff to talk about in later episodes.

This whole thing with repeating conversations is something that happens to literally everyone, my friends, family, UA-camr and even myself. And its weird, often times I already know that I've already said it but I just want to tell it again anyway, even IF I already told it to that person. I don't know why, maybe we're just trying to get another reaction to the things we tell and we think time might do that? It's just weird.

Every human is constantly seeking some sort of validation, whether it be forms ones self or others. This day in age it's very hard for a lot of people to give themselves that validation, and theres a plethora of reasons for that, but regardless, maybe that's why we do this. We weren't satisfied with the response we got last time, so we try again later. The event was clearly very important to us, because weve brought it up multiple times. But maybe that self validation inst enought for us sometimes. Just a theory!

    Hi Philip,
You probably won't see this, but you have really been a big part of my life for a long time now. I started watching your CsGo videos roughly 4 years ago, and you quickly became one of my favorite youtubers. After I found 2kliksphilip and kliksphilip, I was entranced by the topics you were covering. I basically grew up watching your videos, and I still enjoy them to this day. I have binged close to all your videos, and I think you are one of the most philosophical and in depth youtubers out there. You have inspired me to be a better person, and I cannot thank you enough for this. I struggle with severe anxiety and depression and I often found myself relating a lot to some of your videos, and knowing that someone understood what I was going through helped me immensely. Probably my favorite video you made was when you were talking about your friend with severe OCD, and how you helped them. The fact that you cared so much about your friend to drop everything and help in any way you could was beyond admirable. I started making dumb minecraft videos because of you, and I quickly fell in love with it. I learned how to be a youtuber from you, and I managed to get a few videos with over 50k views, and I got over 10k subs. I just want to thank you for being an amazing person, and I will be watching your videos for as long as you are making them.
On a side note, I think that this new podcast idea is a fantastic idea, and I can't wait for this to become a part of my daily routine!
    Thank you,
    -Eve

If you ever need something to make videos about, anything game making would be great. Your game making journey is at least in my opinion one of the best series on youtube, and i have spoken with other game developers who had also watched and greatly enjoyed the series.
And other more philosophical and everyday stuff is also great like "The simpler things in life" and "A Moment of Accomplishment"

Hey, I know this is mostly just an exercise in consistency, but I think the format really suits what you're great at. Short and highly scripted but without a constant topic in mind, really reminds me of what you used to do in like, 2014?
Anyway, the point is: it's probably not going to be an especially popular little series, but some of us really like to hear you just tell us about stuff on your mind. So even after you're done with the month maybe you could sometimes put out similar videos when you're in the mood, just slap a picture on top of a sound file and it's good to go. It probably wouldn't even attract the "running out of ideas" crowd because it's so earnest about what it is. I feel like it has value, for those simpler things that don't require 5 draft revisions and three infographics to comprehend.

This is perfect. The problem with your other content is that it is so good and combines with visuals so well that you can almost just have the video on in the background but can't as you may miss some of the funny parts that are only in the video or something along those lines. NOW there is no video just Phil doing what Phil does. The videos are short enough that I can watch them whenever without having to worry about not being able to finish it with interuptions. This video is perfect and I would love to see much more like it. Maybe you can have some others that are longer on more topics that you enjoy and may have spoken about already but just compile all ideas on a topic onto a huge audio only youtube video.

I've never seen the "How do you come up with your ideas" question in the way you describe. I really don't think that it's obvious how people come up with ideas. You're a creative person and therefore ideas may come to you naturally when thinking of something you are passionate about however less creative people may find that process less automatic and somewhat of a mystery.

Hey, please know your coronavirus series is greatly appreciated even as a Brit myself! Already I love to look back on the earlier videos, seeing how much it has changed and what aligned with our expectations, and what didn't. After this all comes to an end, I do look forward to being able to look back at this series as a reflection and recap of these times.

    5 Minutes with Phil
feels like a spiritual successor to your rant videos, minus the sped up recording and minus the rant...
so the only thing it shares is both being 5 minutes but some of the rants were smaller than 5 minutes...
you know what nevermind I said anything.

looking forward to listening to this each day while working, and don't worry about repeating old topics, some of them will be so old you might find new ways to redo old content and still make it interesting to long time viewers, as well as new people to any of your channels!

Die-Oh-Rear is always a blindspot for me. It always confuses me too, but one day I will understand it! Can't wait to see where this goes. Let the mini-podcasting marathon commence!
(If you're at all curious, I'm editing multiple wiki's in these 5 minutes, time well spent).

Philip, you never fail to amaze me with your clever little witty moments. I already love this series and how quirky it is. If you added in a little music in the background (there's still plenty of stephenthedreamer's music on soundcloud we've yet to hear in a video) I think you'd have some gold
