1. Can Tarsar-Marsar be planned as first Himalayan trek? 2. How many days/month of pre-planning (exercise/physical training) required for a non trekker/non exercise person who is planning "FIRST" Himalayan trek? 3. Can these treks (All Himalayan Treks), specifically this TM trek be planned solo or is it too much solitude to handle😅?.. Please do reply..
Hello Kanchi, 1. The Tarsar Marsar trek is a good option for a first Himalayan trek :) It's easier than the famous Kashmir Great Lakes but gives you a grand introduction to trekking in Kashmir. You can watch this video by Arjun Majumdar, where he explains why it is his favourite trek - ua-cam.com/video/wu6H_gMKjmI/v-deo.html 2. Usually for any Himalayan trek, adequate preparation is important. Reason being that these are high altitude treks, and good cardiovascular endurance along with leg strength would make your experience more rewarding & memorable. Here's our video on how to get fit for a high altitude trek - ua-cam.com/video/lQ_LxiUsVBQ/v-deo.html 3. Since you mention it's your first Himalayan trek, we would recommend you to go on this trek with a group. You could perhaps do a few Himalayan treks and see how comfortable you are at high altitude, and gain experience over time. This would not only ensure safety on your first Himalayan trek, but would also give you confidence to head out on solo adventures in due course.
@@Indiahikes Thanks for replying.. Let me make an endurance building plan, will do my booking soon (solo mostly) with u guys.. Again, u are awesome!.. 🔥
You should have also mentioned that Marsar geographically falls in Srinagar not Anantnag. It's another route is from Dachigam, Srinagar as well although that's quite touch and takes much more time than the one from Aru takes.
Hi Dipu, unfortunately all our groups are full for this year. But you can read more and get all the information about the trek on our trek page - indiahikes.com/tarsar-marsar
HI Vineet, the best time to do the Tarsar Marsar trek is from the beginning of July to the beginning of September. It is the traditional monsoon season in the rest of the Indian subcontinent, but things are different in the Kashmir Valley. You can read full details here: indiahikes.com/tarsar-marsar
If you're talking about July, you can expect comfortable temperatures during the day, between 15 and 22 degrees (it could drop some more if it is cloudy). At night, the temperatures will drop to 1-5 degrees. You'll need at least 3 warm layers.
Hi Abhilasha, no. The best time to do Tarsar Marsar is in the months of July-September. You can read about this more on our trek page - indiahikes.com/tarsar-marsar?uid=tarsar-marsar#best-time
Hi I have 2 questions 1. for beginners which trek do you suggest out of these 3 ? Stok kangri Tarsar Vishansr 2. if u could please suggest trek in kashmir for beginners
I hv trekked to Tarsar in last week of june with kids. I'm most sedentary person. I trekked to Liderwat, 14 km from my guest house. After Lidderwat, next day, I used pony off and on. It will be better if u camp first at Liderwat then beyond Shekhwaas so that u will get ample time and energy to enjoy on the lakes.
No i am also from kashmir. I was in class 6th when i climb tarsar. Its very easy. The only thing you should have is some strength. Ifyou never walked a long distance before then it would be difficult for you

Hi Parvaiz, you can go through our trek page here - indiahikes.com/tarsar-marsar But for this year all the groups are full. Alternatively you can consider our newly discovered Bodpathri lakes trek which offers similar experience and the lesser crowd - indiahikes.com/bodpathri-lakes-trek?uid=bodpathri-lakes-trek
You definitely can, especially if you have some little trek experience. The route is well-marked, and there are constantly teams on the slopes. So you won't get lost. With the right gear, you can definitely trek on your own.
Hi Aryan :) The first group will be going on the 8th of July.
