It was about a motorcycle crash he just referenced skateboarding. Yeah he grew up skating and around the skate scene.
If you follow his IG, he's always posting skaters and every once in awhile, you can see him on a board too!
If you dig the slow paced spoken word style you gotta check his song Jazz Hands is fire and Gopher Guts. Straight poetry. I love this track.

I've been loving your Aesop reactions!! I'd definitely recommend jazz hands and ruby 81 there both amazing!!
So Aes is a skater, that's why he references skateboarding often lol but yeah lucky you have so many Aesop cherries to pop. I'd recommend Catfish, also very slow, it also features another lyricist around his caliber called Homeboy Sandman. I also gotta recommend Difficult just because again it's pretty slow, and it just has some attitude which is nice to see from Aes.
Also Cycles to Gehenna is about him riding his motorcycle to cope with a friend of his dying, that's what I can gather from it at least.
But yeah keep it up man, would love to see some more from ya.
The Harbour is Yours is a slower pace and storytelling track. Also No City is slower but bars- talks about his religious upbringing and society.
Also related to his religious upbringing is the track Holy Smokes. Gives some context to his faith or lack thereof.
Any of these 3 mentioned reacted to would be amazing as they are highly digestible and easier to follow.

I can't pinpoint the video from where the sample came from but, I believe that's Marshall Applewhite speaking... look him up if you don't know who he is.
I think a perfect followup to this song and video, thematically, would be 4am by Hail Mary Mallon. The first verse on that song is being handled by Rob Sonic... just listen how their flow dances so perfectly with that beat. This is such a short track but I think it's my favorite by them - you gotta check it out!

@0:50 so beautiful to know u feel the change in ur brain that only aesop's art causes. the more u soak him in, the more u will fall in love w/ wherever u head wanders, there will be an internal joy & contentment that colors all things u experience & think on. he also created in me an intolerance of mc's who put in half-ass effort.

@@MrChoobsabre LMFAO! niiccee! if aesop's art was only thing we had, it'd cause us to cre8 all things we did & more. & i'v needed glasses for 5 yrs, they helpful, but i'd still be ME w/out glasses, still b fascinated & joyous. wouldn't b me w/out aes's art & nature's so stoked it got to level where it grew aesop, nature knew it had outdone itself. he proved to nature that it knew how to grow growth good

@7:40 when u say that aes says something that doesn't have any meaning til later in song...fo sho. i find that aes's 1st verses or at least 1st 8 bars is him talking to himself about a childhood memory, a fever dream, etc that he wants to put into words. then 2nd verse is him letting folks know what's up and what's off & 3rd is him telling folks what he's doing about it & an invite to join him.
