I don't think my tyres are up to it. If I ever want to feel like I'm doing warp speed, 100ish is fast enough for me. On a track. Of course. If I want to terrify myself, then I'll take the 28 year old campervan up to 70, that's terrifying enough :D
We're off to Cornwall via Bristol next Wednesday. We have a Hyundai i10...100 MPH is a big ask let alone 1000 MPH.* *We don't really travel at 100MPH on the M5 either!!!
Imagine doing 1000mph on the M62, M25, A1(M), M1, M90, M6, M6 Toll, A14, M20 and other major roads in the UK. This is so impressive and enjoyable. Nice work JenOnTheMove. Really love it.
The A14 can get lot worse especially before and after places like Ipswich, Cambridge and where it ends and meets with the M6 and M1 motorways near Rugby.
I am geekily attached to the M5... when I'm on it it means we're travelling down to the South West for our holidays! My highlights include seeing the Clent and Malvern Hills, Michaelwood services, The RAC centre, Aztec West (sounds more exotic than it is!), the Avonmouth Bridge, Gordano valley where the motorway splits onto two levels, Sedgemoor Services (there is no better taste than drinking lukewarm thermos coffee in a plastic cup at 7am on Sedgemoor services car park!), travelling over the rivers on the Somerset Levels, the county border signs for Somerset and Devon, reaching Junction 27 for North Devon holidays, Junction 30 for South Devon holidays and Junction 31 to join the A30 for Cornish holidays.
@@JenOnTheMove if overrated means fresh quality food served in a pleasant surroundings inside and out and no sight of bland-food-and-drink-serving chains like MacDonalds or Costa, then yes ;)
We went to Cornwall Perranporth 2 weeks ago and we live in Coventry so we went from a444 on m6 the start of m5 and the traffic was bad when we got to like j21 and I went a30
Having been brought up in Staffs so visit parents still living there and lived in Devon for 20 years, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve driven the entire length of the M5, always something new to see though.👍
Yeah but they're proven not to be dangerous. The hard shoulder meanwhile is just wasted capacity 99% of the time. It's the people who won't maintain their cars, check they have enough fuel, or be told what speed they should be doing, that are the dangerous ones on the roads.
Nice ride Jen at 1000mph I do like your Jen on the move roads and motorways my favourite is M60 orbital motorway in Manchester nice Jen keep up the projects u do god bless u Jen safe journeys and be vigilant at all times god bless
I know this video is a year old & I am a relatively new subscriber, but this is a great video. I wish I could drive up & down the M5 at a fraction of that speed to & from Bristol! As for summer weekends, there is nothing like a good old crawl, when I have to go to an event in the south west, but that is another story!! Thank you.
This would be way more fun if all the other vehicles were still going at 100kph! As an American not having seen British highways I can tell you that they look pretty much the same here. Just, the right way around.
when I go on holiday to somerset we go down the M5 as far as junction 22 and even though we usually leave at 6am we still sometimes get caught in a couple of busy parts
Seems really busy considering at the time this was filmed, lockdown just ended. Just look at the northbound (opposite) side at 1:30! Have no idea what caused this since there are no lane closures, accidents, roadworks, etc.
Happy memories of travelling the length of the M5 (and a bit of the M6) from Stoke to Exeter to visit my girlfriend, who eventually became my wife. Now live in Exeter so don't make this trip anymore but get a fuzzy glow just thinking of it.
Hi I love your videos and I go down the m5 about 4 or 5 times a year to go to perranporth 1 time I go to perran sands and then the rest of the times in that year I go visit my auntie and cousins for a week and I get so excited going down the m5 and a30
Ahhh… the M5. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been all the way along it when going on holiday. Is there still that huge Cadburys sign just as you approach Spaghetti Junction? I remember seeing it all lit up way back when.
Disclaimer: please don't *actually* drive down the M5 at 1000mph!

@@AlisonBryen I can neither confirm nor deny that I have travelled at 100mph on the M5.
Done the ton on the M6 though ;)
@@macartm My dad once managed to get our 1987 Nissan Micra to do 100 on the M5...
Autobahn style
Jeez, some of the vehicles overtaking you must have been doing 1125 mph! ;)
Interesting video .
Wish it was this quick normally lol
true lol

M6 toll is only 25 miles long so it's only going to be under a min
I used to live in Ipswich. Would have made my journey down the A14 so much nicer.
The A14 can get lot worse especially before and after places like Ipswich, Cambridge and where it ends and meets with the M6 and M1 motorways near Rugby.
So many memories of family holidays in the West Country. A motorway of considerable variety too!

Did no one tell you that you have to stop at Gloucester services? Up there with Tebay.
Nahhhh, they're overrated!

5:20 Here comes the "Holiday to Cornwall" traffic
Yep

So I can relate to that 😂😂

Yeaaa for Cirencester if you ever come here, coffee on me
How did you not manage to get stuck behind one of those crappy slow Audi's doing 110Mph in the outside lane? Impressive.
Taunton onwards is my route to Kernow (Cornwall)
7:11 A new Smart Motorway under construction. I think they are dangerous because most of the recent ones get rid of the hard shoulder.
That's not a smart motorway, they're just upgrading the VMS
Ok.

JenOnTheExpresso 😲
Road to the seaside!!
The M5 thrills me in the same way Paddington station does, depending on how I'm getting there! 🤪
My fave bit - River Huntspill between J22 and J23. Absolute beauty!
Take the junction

The thing about doing 1000mph like that, you also have excellent braking I notice. Brilliant, keep it up.
I love you and your work. Thanks!
Great video Jen and channel thanks to a shout out from Geoff from All The Stations ;)
I've never heard of that before.
Frankley Services! Been there! 😎
Same
WoW Jen, you crazy fast girl!
I remember that road well from when, er I ahem used to live in the midlands!
Used to drive the M5 regularly (fortunately not the whole length in one go). I have no fond memories of it. Enjoyed the video though
Good upload as always
always seems to be congestion on the m5, just got back from brixham in devon to redditch, delays on the m5 going there and coming back
when I go on holiday to somerset we go down the M5 as far as junction 22 and even though we usually leave at 6am we still sometimes get caught in a couple of busy parts
Nice to see that, even at that speed, you are keeping 2 chevrons apart!

I was too busy watching the Cloudscapes.
🙄🙄🙄🙄
Random traffic jam northbound at 1:30... couldn't see a cause though.
At J18A its the M49 not the M48, close though, amazing video
Thanks for the message and 😁
HGVs pulling into the middle lane looks scary at 1000mph 😬😅
What is the music at the double layered section near Clevedon?
Traffic congestion, road works, and idiots hogging the middle lane, a typical day on the UK motorways.

So beautiful.
The M5 needs a longer show as so much is missing. Literally all of Worcestershire and most of Gloucestrrshire is missing
There isn’t anything missing
Love you 💖
Can you do this for the m4
Wait, no intro at all?!
Intros are so 2020 ;-)
@@JenOnTheMove ahaha I cracked up… but I ought to say that last song sounded a lot like a potential new intro song
170 miles
It looks like 10mph
So the speed cameras are fake
