This knife makes sense. A single 3.25" blade, one hand opening, pocket clip, and weighing 2.75 ounces it deserves to be carried especially if you are a SAK guy. Besides it is the only Victorinox that comes with a clip that is available, at least in the states, to my knowledge. I liked it for camp use a few years ago so much that since then I've purchased 5 other 111mm SAKs including the Locksmith, my ultimate recommendation for camp use. Thanks Paddy, these are cool knives.
This is actually one of the very few knives (along with the Victorinox Trailmaster and Soldier) with a liner lock that favours lefties, that in itself should be cause enough to cherish and celebrate this knife :-)
I take one to work everyday as well as my Huntsman, great to clip to your side pocket for quick one handed deploy. It's a victorinox so even though its locking its less scary to the public. I love it!
I have bought 3 of these over the years with one lost to TSA and the other 2 used regularly in my kitchen and bathroom. But, none had the clip. I want that clip! :-)
I have one of those, but without the pocket clip. I like the Victorinox liner locks, as I favor carrying my pocket knife on the left side. This one makes a great lightweight carry, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine!
Hi Paddy, thanks for the video! One hand closing this knife is very simple. To disengage the lock hold the knife regularly (hammer grip) with cutting edge down, then use your pointing finger to press on the liner lock and at the same time push the blade down with your thumb. No worries it will not cut your other fingers. Try it, very easy
Looks really good i have had a look at 1 For camping i would mainly be taking my fixed blade as if it was legal i would edc a fixed blade 😁 Thank you for sharing
Having a victirinox is always a good idea! I have a few. Last one I bought is a outrider. It is absolutely a workhorse! Victirinox must be in any house, I think!
I had the Victorinox “Trekker”. It looked like the “Sentinel” but had a saw & a few other things on it. I & really liked it, but man, it was big & heavy, & didn’t have a pocket clip. I found myself carrying my smaller SAKs & not really losing any capability. I like your “Sentinel”; with a clip & a single-layer, it may be a lot easier to carry!
Afternoon Paddy👍. I've always been tempted by the larger one hand opening V-Nox's, but i just got a Ranger for the wood and metal saw's plus scissors, with the other usual tools and blade's it's the perfect combination for me, any bigger and i'd carry a Leatherman. Maybe one day though.👋
I agree. I have a Ranger in the truck and one in my pack for hiking/camping. I edc an Explorer or the Sentinel also. I do mix up my edc a lot with about 20 other traditionals.
Fun review Paddy! I've got the Sentinel as well. I bought it on a lark and then thought it wasn't long for my collection because of the reverse liner lock, but a year later I've still got it and use it. HA!
Watched Arthur Brehm's video on this and got one! Cracking little work knife and great value. Only other SAKs I have are the Field master and the Signature. The latter is on my key chain for the pen! Keep up the good work! PS. Heinnie are Wales' finest!
I have the Outrider, which is the same size and shape but it is a slim blade with a slide lock, also has a saw, scissors, phillips driver, corkscrew(very important) and the usual can and bottle opener. I find it a very useful camping tool, good for food prep though I would definitely swap the bottle opener for a small pen blade. I also have the Pioneer and a half dozen other SAKs
I’m not a huge SAK fan, but I do have a dozen or so, but none of these larger ones. All that being said, my ‘man bag’ has a Pioneer X in it, my briefcase a Climber and my Keyring a Jetsetter.
Probably the only 111mm, that I would recommend with the one hand open blade. The other 111mm Vicotrinox, most of them are desinged for the outdoors. The best IMHO ,is the "unfortunatelly discontinued" Rucksack. The newer Forester and Trekker, don't come even close, to the ergos, weight, quality and more importantly, to the functionality, that the older Rucksack used to have. If you can still find one, grab it, before they become rare. iMHO, it is by far better than the Farner or any other outdoors tool or knife, for either hiking, camping, etc. Best outdoors pocket knife ever!!!
Nice looking blade. Reminds me of the Spyderco Kapara. I used to have & used a tinkerer, before Leatherman came out. Still have a classic SD on my keychain. Would like to see your knapsack.
Hey Paddy, thanks for another great video. I can't lie I'm not keen on this one. I get it though, every knife has a job it'll be great for your plans. Good work, can't wait for the next one.
thanks for the video, I like pretty much all Vintorinox knives, but the Sentinel, I could just never get used to for some reason. The interesting thing is, I don't really know why I don't like it. Maybe because I have too many other 111 mm models that do so much more. Be well partner!
Probably because the handle feels and sounds so cheap!….which it is! But the blade is good, and the lock is good so the dodgy, but lightweight grip is a compromise!
I'm thinking about getting a Vic for quite some time, most likely a single blade Alox. But when it comes to ordering, bone handle Rough Riders for the same price always win.
All of the 111mm liner lock one hand openers are left handed. I actually prefer the older slide lock as they are a little lighter and thinner. You can't get anything more basic that the Sentinel. Just a basic cutter. My choice for the back pack is the Outrider. But then I love Vics! You should at least try out a Trekker. That little three inch saw on the 111mm knives is better than may camp saws that are two or three times bigger1
Hmm... the pocket clip is non-removable, tip-down, right-hand carry only, which limits your options, to say the least. The liner lock is actually more difficult for right-handers to operate. Much as I love the more traditional smaller Victorinox knives, I don't think they've really nailed it with their larger locking blades.
I’ve always felt the ultra shiny blades, cheapened the Vics a bit. I know their sharp but just something about them I don’t care for. I’d take a Schrade or Buck knife instead.
My grandfather had all kinds of them when I was a kido I thought the more crap you had on a knife the better. Now I have a multi tool and a sentinel hahaha. No clip on mine tho.
I have tried everything for EDC, I ended up with the Spirit X and the Explorer Combo, for urban edc. IMHO Can't get any better. BUT, that's why there are so many choices out there, not all of us have the same needs.

Cheers mate who know I might be getting converted. Atb paddy 👍☘️😃
I have a Trekker and I love it. I ordered a Sentinel today I can't wait for it to arrived

Good point.
@@jock-of-ages73 Said one leftie to another?
Check out MAM knives, they are traditional Portugese pocket knives similar to Opinel and they come with a liner lock that favours lefties.
I'd love to see your hiking bag Paddy. 👍
I take one to work everyday as well as my Huntsman, great to clip to your side pocket for quick one handed deploy. It's a victorinox so even though its locking its less scary to the public. I love it!
Great to know. I am quite taken with it. Atb paddy 👍☘️😃
My Sentinel arrived in the mail today. I'm quite impressed.

Love it, excellent pocket knife.Good presentation, thanks for sharing 👍😊
I see, you are a fan of the blades of my land ! Good choice.

That's awesome I wish there were more clip options from victorinox and would love to see a load out of that hiking bag great review

Hello. Great for the price. Can't go wrong. Yes please, show your bag, i would like to compare with mine. All the best.

Thanks Stuart good to know. Atb paddy 👍☘️😃
I have an alox addiction :)I bought the Sentinel for a friend and he's very pleased with it.
I have the Outrider, which is the same size and shape but it is a slim blade with a slide lock, also has a saw, scissors, phillips driver, corkscrew(very important) and the usual can and bottle opener. Only Vitorianox I have is the Spartan and I think it’s very handy! It’s a quite new addition for me tho! Great video and all the best :)!

Great info thank you so much for your input. Atb paddy 👍☘️😃
I'd rather buy it without the pocket clip but I'm glad Victorinox makes it available for those that like it. I carry a SAK every day.
I only own two Victorinox knives a Camper and a Pioneer X. I carry one or the other every day.
Nice looking blade. Reminds me of the Spyderco Kapara. I used to have & used a tinkerer, before Leatherman came out. Still have a classic SD on my keychain. Would like to see your knapsack.
Thanks pal I will do one. Atb paddy 👍☘️😃
Hey Paddy, thanks for another great video. I can't lie I'm not keen on this one. I get it though, every knife has a job it'll be great for your plans. Good work, can't wait for the next one.
I do wish they thought to put that pocket clip on my Ranger grip 78!
Same blade as on the ranger grip great knife. Think this may be the only victorniox with a pocket clip!
Also on my ranger grip the Vic symbal is a button that unlocks the liner check this may be the same!
thanks for the video, I like pretty much all Vintorinox knives, but the Sentinel, I could just never get used to for some reason. The interesting thing is, I don't really know why I don't like it. Maybe because I have too many other 111 mm models that do so much more. Be well partner!

You would love an Alox Solo then, lightweight yet quite a bit stronger than bone or plastic.
Try the evogrip s18 its my favorite next to the swiss champion plus which is no longer available 😫
I prefer those nylon scales from the shiny ones. Would buy more victorinox if they did then on the 91mm knives. Thanks paddy 👍🏽

I think mine is the one handed trecker I really like it but it's too big and thick for pocket carry I keep it in my bag as well
Excellent video 👍👍
My grandfather had all kinds of them when I was a kido I thought the more crap you had on a knife the better. Now I have a multi tool and a sentinel hahaha. No clip on mine tho.
They have an up/down blade play
Yes sir but not unsafe in my opinion. Just the liner lock configuration. Atb paddy 👍☘️😃
Question what is your favorite steel for a folder knife?
I'll give you 3, budget, everyday, and higher end. 440c, s30v, lc200n. Atb paddy 👍☘️😃
SAK's are the best utility knives.
Precio?
VİCTORİNOX THE BEST
Who is this Victoria Knox? Any relation to Victor Inox 😉. Yes let’s see that bag!
Will do pal. Atb paddy 👍☘️😃
I like victorinox knives coz are cheap and they don't gonna betray you
Paddy u have £50 to spen at HH uk friendly whale would you buy
I would genuinely save a couple more pounds and buy the HH ukpk in s30v. Just an around Great pocket knife. Atb paddy 👍☘️😃
paddys potato peelers
Forgot to say no Spyderco 🤪
A left-handed person could easily close it. Maybe it's for the lefty's
Not a Victorinox fan, either.
Me neither but this has a purpose. Atb paddy 👍☘️😃

Sorry but.. Ugliest victorinox ever. Spyderco lovers must like this. 😁😁
