  • Why don't you use any electric tools (router, table saw)?
Because of noise. I live in a flat in a 10 floors building, I have some neighboors. So I should be quiet.
Hi! Yesterday I finished my first home-made wooden furniture and the first furniture on this channel. This is a shelving system for the hallway. I also use it as a bicycle storage. I like the mid-century modern style, and I decided to make it. Thanks to my wife for patience and help!
So thanks for watching. I hope you like it. See you next time, bye!
    My tools:

DIY Drill Battery ( • DIY Lithium DRILL Battery )

One of the greatest builds I've seen in a while, great design, manual tools and mid century modern can't get any better than that

Really like how you are going old school and using hand tools. Very thoughtful of you to consider your neighbours. Love the look and how useful it is. Well done!!

This is amazing!! As a fellow apartment dweller I appreciate seeing these techniques being accomplished without all of the power tools. It is more considerate and also more achievable for people who would like to build things but don't have an entire woodworking studio & tools.
Greta job. It came out beautiful and I love how functional it is!

This was breathtaking to watch, I’m planning out a similar build right now and I’m so impressed with the mastery you showed here. The fact that you built this with minimal power tools is incredible. I’m far too lazy to even think about doing it this way but seeing each step broken out was so helpful. Thanks for sharing!

Superb work. I'm really impressed. One thing that you might really like is a Japanese pull saw. Really versatile and pretty cheap too!

Hi! What is the tool you use to create the shelf-edge in the triangle shape (does this make sense?)? I'm a complete novice so sorry if this is an obvious question. A link to what your bought/the brand you use would be so helpful. And yes, definitely want more content that doesn't use expensive and single-use power tools! Subscribed!

my man just built a $4000 Cadovius wall unit from scratch with essentially a drill and a saw.
youtube needs so much more of this and so much less of these wood hipsters with >$100 000 workshops
is that pine you were using? what kind of finishing did you employ? It looks like you're using oak (?) stain, but the finished product has such a smooth shine to it, anything else?

Basically it's a version of the 606 shelving system designed by Dieter Rams. Only about 1/1000th the cost and nicer-looking.

at 18:54 minutes you insert some sort of temporary double-sided spikes and then press on your shelf, only to then remove the spikes and soon insert permanent dowels... what is the point of the temporary teeth?

    • @azahan
      @azahan 2 роки тому

It's to mark the exact position for dowels on the second piece of wood.
