Found my new favorite channel. Love to see how the Mre’s have came along over the years. Fella marine brother 2004 to 2009. I never drank coffee or smoked a cigarette till the marines.
Larry, I was the same way. I still didn't get into coffee until I got out, but I did smoke a few while active duty. I had a terrible time staying awake while driving jeeps or deuce and one halfs. I smoked because I wouldn't dare doze off if I had a lit cigarette in my hand/mouth. They kept me awake, for sure. I never did develop a taste for them, fortunately. What was your MOS! I was a 2621, Manual Morse Intercept Operator. P.I. or S.D.? TFW!

You anecdotes are awesome! I'm a retired SCPO and I'd guess just a bit older, but you bring back amazing memories. If you get to Hawaii, give me a call!
These videos are great! I am hooked. I am already a subscriber of Ace videos and High Adventures. You have a great family and you are a natural on camera.
Thank you, Phillip. I did my own television commercials back in the day for our business that my wife and I owned for over 34 years. I have grown comfortable in front of the camera over time. If you can believe it, Ace was super camera shy when he first started his channel. He didn't even say anything on camera in his first videos. I don't know if he has left those videos up on his channel or not. TFW!
@@MeAncient oh I believe it. I've tried to make some videos for my own records and to share some recipes with friends and family. I'm pretty camera shy. But it is like everything. With repetition, you develop some skill and shed that fear. Keep the videos coming!
Those C rations bring back some great memories of growing up in a Army household at Ft. Lewis WA in the 60's and 70's. I've eaten many C rations back then and the B-2 were crackers and cheese spread or crackers and cocoa powder. B1 or B1A and B3 or B3A had crackers with the fudge bar or 2 foil wrapped chocolate disks with almonds. Even fresh the fudge bars were not that good, but the foil wrapped disks were amazing. Most entrees were good except pork slices or ham slices, which were too salty. Beef with spiced sauce was amazing along with beef slices and potatoes with gravy. Beans and franks were good and the spaghetti with meat chunks was the best spaghetti I ever tasted. I still have some C rations than I have held onto just for those old memories of a simpler time of my life. BTW, the fruit cake was gross and looked about the same new as it did with the can you opened in the other video.
I truly enjoy making them and sharing my stories. The family gets a little tired of hearing the same stories several times. It's good for me to be able to share them with new listeners. TFW!!
Man I could seriously watch these all day long. I looked at your profile pic and geez your definitely Aces and High adventures dad. Like twins man. Tell Ace I need to come visit and get me 1 of those sheephead sammiches you guys made. Love all 3 of you guys vids. My favorite has to be Aces video where he went to the mountains and fished in shorts in a hotspring during the winter. Freaking amazing. You guys are a awesome family
I love your videos with your sons, thanks for bringing us along for the ride. Sure would be cool to hang out with you guys and do a catch clean and cook, keep on keepin on! 🤙
I've only ever watched Steve do these MRE videos for years. But I gotta say, Im glad I've found your channel through Ace. Its cool watching Steve but actually have perspective of someone who was boots on ground really makes the videos better. And being able to provide stories just really puts it over the top, especially the story in this one 👍👍
That beefsteak looked surprisingly similar to the c ration of the spaghetti and sauce from another video. Really enjoying these videos, and the stories of your military career, God bless.
You are welcome. I wish these had been climate controlled all those years. It would be real interesting to see how long canned goods could last if stored properly the whole time. TFW!

In Airforce bootcamp, I was 6'3", so yep, I was one of the guides for my Flight. We had a slightly older black guy who was made flight leader. In my second hitch, Navy, I was generally made a working party leader when waiting between tech schools.
Me Ancient, ever since I was young , it was always a dream of mine to be apart of the military. But due to injuries during my high-school football days , i wasn't able to pass meps twice. I watched a guy had millions subscribers do these. He’d buy rations and try everything if safe even smoked. I lost track of his channel so this is good.
Really enjoying these. I have a friend in the army res that works as a cook. He brought a case of mres. Tried one of them so far and wow! they are actually pretty good! Luckily my case of mres were new. lol

The stories are starting, and I am still a full time viewer. these are my favorite. Its like opening christmas presents with cool stories now.
completely agree!
Be careful what you wish for, Derrick. I have lots more stories. And I don't come out ahead on all of them, either. More to come and TFW!!
