So the ending shows that he used the 10 dollars to get out of jail? , i assumed at first he was trying to use the money for other stuff . He was spending like he was rich , but i guess that was just for appearance seen as he couldn't afford the expensive meal.
This is one of the best short films I've seen in a long time 😂 This was top notch quality, from cinematography to acting, and humour. Love to see African indie films depicted this way. Bravo everyone involved! 👏🏽
This man's confidence is amazing! Lesson from this short movie: no matter how hard it is to be happy we shouldn't lose hope & forget to live the life fully
A Kenyan short film on Omeleto!!!! Yaaaaaaassss! This was so beautiful...such an interesting depiction of Kenyan realities while being highly entertaining & hilarious in the same breath...just beautiful 👌🏽🙌🏽💐
This has been on my recommended for a week now. Finally, I said OK, youtube, I know you know I'm Kenyan, so here we go. The film is so well done, I'm not disappointed! 👏👏
As an African myself, the bribing of the police officer at the end is SO accurate. 🤣😂 When you got a speed ticket you could just buy them a bottle of Coke and be on your way. 😅
Oh man was I worried about how this would turn out, so much so I was scared to continue watching, but I totally love the circle being completed in the way it did. Says so much about the underlying corruption that still exists in so many parts of the world. What a relief though! Didn't think he would come out in one piece!
That is why Raymond Ofula truly deserved the lifetime achievers award the other day in Kalasha, so poised, perfection . Yafesi weeh that was jokes mtaani you can rent a suit love it. Wonderful production made me laugh so much... Kenya we made it. This is so Kenyan very authentic
Awesome short! Charlie Chaplin, couldn't have done this one better. The disparity of life and quick wit to survive hasn't changed much. In my heart, this one is a winner! Bravo....
A 2kg bag of corn meal, Kenyan staple, costs approx $2. If you have a family of 4, that's good for 2 meals. A kg of meat is approx $5. I hope that gives you rough picture
The only part I didn't believe was the tailor bit. Everyone knows Kenyan tailors require 4-6 business weeks to get you a suit they promised would be ready in 1 week hahahahaha! Great video
@@beckieappletree3931 I think so too, most people in the hood rarely wear suits so renting it out for a specific occasion would be more profitable for the tailor than waiting years for a buyer lol
This is amazing as an African American who has visited Africa a few times I found this film charming funny and eye opening to the realities of life in Kenya.
And Actually a 10 dollar tip would only get you large pizza size for a meal in Kenya....to go to fancy restaurants like this would require you to spend about 100-200 dollars 😭
true Nairobi culture represented bargaining....economy ni ngumu matatu culture...... police corruption..... nice work omeleto for representing my city and my country......🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
Ok this is the best thing I've seen in a while 👏👏👏👏 excellent acting for the main character, I feel like I'm watching greatness in the making and honestly just well done to every single person involved in the production😊😊😊😊
That was brilliant! Just brilliant in every way. Amazing job by everyone involved and special shout out to Yafesi Musoke. To be in almost every scene ... 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Caught my attention when I saw "Kenyan". Recently visited this wonderful country and had a blessed time! The people, wildlife, scents and landscape were amazing! The experience is imprinted on my mind.
A Kenyan. In a Kenyan film. In a Kenyan setting. ON OMELETO!!!! It is indeed a good day to have eyes. Great job Yafesi.

I didn't get how it was a "guide" until he winked. What a way to keep the audience invested till the very end. A masterful piece
I’ve watched it twice. It’s good.

As a Kenyan am really proud of my fellow country people for pulling this level of cinematography.
I'm just amazed that Omeleto can cover Kenyan stories
I was also amazed at the level of crime-atography. Clever!
East Africa forever!!!

You're right. When African directors go indie, they're usually fantastic.

Omeleto Short film never go easy but seeing a Kenyan film and the professionalism makes it even better. 🇰🇪 Great job team Kenya

That smug look he gave to the camera at the end was everything. Loved this!
At the end , still manage to treat himself for $10 x) loved the twist .
Finally and omeleto that I can identify with - Kenyan here. Very well done

I agree. Nairobi is unique.

Kept asking myself how much $10 is in Kenya. This is brilliant.
It's as worthless as $10 in any part of the world
its too little but not as it is i america
$10 American is equivalent to 1299 Kenyan shillings.
@@noneofya6503 wow that’s sad and interesting at the same time

I never knew I could bump into a short film by my people in Omeleto! It's a great feeling, I love it
I want to see many more videos from beautiful Kenya! This was funny. But also sad. The good life being so unattainable for hard working locals.
The good life is unattainable for people all over the world
The police officer's final facial expression after the $ was handed to him was priceless...

This is dope, truly a Kenyan experience
As entertaining as it was, it is a reality check how far the dollar goes in some countries, for better or for worse. 💸

One of my fav Omeletos!
Great social satire, well written, sublimely acted, beautifully filmed and uproariously funny!
Hilarious and a joy to watch him enjoy himself so much! He knew the endgame from the start. 🤣
Great story! I never even imagined what his plan was the whole time.
I just want to imagine his boss face/reaction the next day. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is incredibly funny but the political undercut makes it 1000 times better. Play the system or it will play you.
