One doesn't have to be adopted to sing "Oklahoma", or lose one's mother so that he can sing "When You Come Home". This is a great song beautifully sung with a video artistically done. Isn't it?!

I don't understand how or why a human being is shunned because they prefer a same sex relationship. It interferes with no one else's life. We must live and let live. When we learn to do that the world will be a better place. Hope he wins the voice.
Sadly when Billy decided to come out of the closet Nashville turned their backs on him, as he is no longer marketable to a conservative crowd. He said during The Voice audition last week that he wants to move into Pop Music, though I still think his roots are in country.

JOSHUA LEIBY actually he was dropped by Sony at 17 when he went through a voice change (puberty) and he lost his singing ability. He has worked really hard to get it back.

~ A lot of factors determines an artist's placement in the industry. The management team is responsible for his/her rise to fame, and sadly to say in many cases their defeat and demise as well. Unlike many young successful artist's today, I suspect Billy lacked the strong representation required in the beginning, to reach the pinnacle of greater success he might have had today. Then again it's a tough industry to maintain longevity. It's great to see he's still making music!. An incredible talent and a great voice.
Tony I said that a long time. I said if he was mine. He would be headlining in Nashville. He is a great guy with a fantastic personality and so talented. I hope someday he realizes it before it is too late and he is forgotten about.

As a transgender American seventeen year old girl Billy had taught me to be true to myself and be who I am and follow my true heart and to be proud. Just liked he came out in a UA-cam video me came out to my gay uncles that I was gay and in love with a woman. Some day in the near future that the country music biz will realize that they have two gay country singer TY Herndon and Billy Gilman and male country singers are forced to sing about women. Times have changed one day I will soon hear a brand new song form a male country singer singing about the man that he loves. I remember him singing as a kid. Amazing voice for one so young. I didn't even know he was back in the music scene until recently when I was watching old episodes of The Voice. He may have gotten older and his voice changed but he's still got that same soulful sound. Love it.
Will Sony regret that they let go of Billy Gilman? I mean, if someone's good at singing and he experiences voice change, yes it could mean failure to engage audience, but then, if he's REALLY good at singing, people grow up with him, abandoning him just because his voice changes... and no major label wants him... Billy, you really have to show them you still own it. The ability to touch our hearts. Not every good singer can do what you can do. We will rejoice in your singing as long as you also enjoy it.
I read in Pop Sugar that they let him go because he came out as gay. Also said they put together this thing for singers to come out and play their music and not one label was interested in him.
Let us not forget what, some people in Hollywood will do, to a kid, and many thousands have been affected. The entertainment industry started Teen magazines, to promote but, many can be ruined there, as well. If they disagree to be conned into their seedy, evil traps, there are a thousand more, heading to the gates weekly! I am so glad, he went for the Voice... it was a very smart move. We all should spend as much time, improving ourselves, our Spirit and the way we live, and treat others... then perhaps you wont worry so much, about all the other things that put YOU in a Negative space.

Tony I said that a long time. I said if he was mine. He would be headlining in Nashville. He is a great guy with a fantastic personality and so talented. I hope someday he realizes it before it is too late and he is forgotten about.

Hi I read your message and it made me cry. I grew up with Billy Gilman and Michael Jackson. As a transgender American seventeen year old girl Billy had taught me to be true to myself and be who I am and follow my true heart and to be proud. Just liked he came out in a UA-cam video me came out to my gay uncles that I was gay and in love with a woman. Some day in the near future that the country music biz will realize that they have two gay country singer TY Herndon and Billy Gilman and male country singers are forced to sing about women. Times have changed one day I will soon hear a brand new song form a male country singer singing about the man that he loves. I wish that one day Billy will write a song about two gay men in fallin in loved.

I stumbled across this last summer. Kept thinking this guy ought to be huge and wondered why I hadn't heard of him. Awesome voice. Was surprised and glad to see him on The Voice.
Billy said he was glad he didn't win. Because they have to sign a contract that is very restricting. Now he can plan a tour more records. He had a dream that he came in second. with Sundance winning. Congrats Billy and I can't wait to see you on tour.

I listened to Billy's first album back when I was 10 (my mom bought the CD)... Thought about him a few times wondering what he was doing but mostly forgot about him for 16 years until I saw him on the Voice. Time was generous to him and his voice. Good luck, Billy!

I remember him singing as a kid. Amazing voice for one so young. I didn't even know he was back in the music scene until recently when I was watching old episodes of The Voice. He may have gotten older and his voice changed but he's still got that same soulful sound. Love it.

Will Sony regret that they let go of Billy Gilman? I mean, if someone's good at singing and he experiences voice change, yes it could mean failure to engage audience, but then, if he's REALLY good at singing, people grow up with him, abandoning him just because his voice changes... and no major label wants him...
Billy, you really have to show them you still own it. The ability to touch our hearts. Not every good singer can do what you can do. We will rejoice in your singing as long as you also enjoy it.

I read in Pop Sugar that they let him go because he came out as gay. Also said they put together this thing for singers to come out and play their music and not one label was interested in him.

The entertainment industry started Teen magazines, to promote but, many can be ruined there, as well. If they disagree to be conned into their seedy, evil traps, there are a thousand more, heading to the gates weekly!
