Try putting a dehumidifier or a dessicant (those packets they put in new shoes or bags or medicine - the ones labelled do not eat😅) in your storage box so that it absorbs moisture and humidity. I live in a hot and humid country as well and I put dehumidifiers inside my closets and cabinets with my leather bags and it help prevent molds.
If you watch towards the end 09:20 theres a bunch of dessicant gels in the box. UPDATE for now: I have been leaving my box open for months now and all my journals are still doing fine :)
Yes, adds character as you destroy tge leather cover (which is very expensive). Most people are too broke to ruin leather this way! This girl is clearly very weathy to STORE her refills WITH the leather cover…. Normally people re-use the same cover, instead of buying 1-2 per year.
I'd recommend Boveda packs, a few 60g packs at least. I use them for my humidors (cigar storage), but they also offer low humidity packs, and I think they'd work a lot better at preventing mold from growing than the silica bags do.

Not the best way to store, because of humidity. Seal them TIGHT away from air access! This way your refills won’t be ruined and mouldy like hers! 💩
