I've had notebooks that were dedicated to specific travel adventures in the past, but when my husband and I went on a cruise in the Caribbean back in April of this year, I brought my generic traveler's notebook with me. I'd collected various pieces of ephemera, and glued them all in after we got back. I also took pictures of the journal with different backgrounds from each island we went to. I still need to print those out and put them in my journal, but I don't mind that I'm still waiting to complete that process because it gives me a chance to relive those memories. Thank you so much for these great tips and for sharing your adventures with us!
My advice: just enjoy it! It doesn’t have to be a work of art. Nobody is going to see it. Just have fun and do what makes you happy and helps you remember your trip.
A good reminder that’s it not about a perfect journal. It’s awesome that you can journal as you travel, I find that difficult. I collect ephemera along the way and use the pictures that I take to help me journal it all back home. TFS
Our journals, we should remember, are PERFECTLY imperfect... just as we are! I love your journaling style, I love the thick, textured, colourful entries and the fact that they are all memories to be cherished! Thank you for sharing!!!
I always look forward to your video updates and love seeing your traveler's notes. I'm Japanese, and I'm happy to see that you love Japan and Japanese stationery from watching your videos. Your husband is a very kind person.
hello! i think you're super cool and your flavor of journaling resonates with me so much. as a recovering type A person, it feels so liberating to see you go ham on making Your Mark on your pages. it's so creative and fun, and i hope to do this with my own journals and scrapbooks going forward. thank you for sharing your process with us!
I carry my journal with me as part of my wallet. It’s so nice to journal through the day. My photos hold extra memories with time stamps, dates, and locations. I love taking all of the extra ephemera home with me. When I get home. I place all of my photos and journaling together into 1 notebook. I use my standard olive travelers company journal that I had customized at Baum Kuchen. Nice video Jane. I enjoyed it.
Very supportive husband...and cute too :) Seems you guys had a fun adventure. I really like the cup. Creative journaling (as always); thanks for the tips
i had that experience for holding all my travel journals pending for too long after returning and end up many projects!! which is why I’ll try to do it during traveling to make my life easier after that. Good luck to u!! Im sure it’ll be a good one!
This was such a happy and sweet video! Thank you for sharing!! I collect things when I travel too!! I need to make time to stop and journal while I'm there like you do!
That Vivienne Westwood wallet is BEAUTIFUL 😍 All of this is great advice for forming a good travel journal habit. Thanks so much for sharing, this was so fun to watch!
I always love your video. Welcome to Japan 🥰 I also sometimes feel hard to journal in the cafés here- some of them are so crowded. I love your sketches ❤
Very much enjoyed this style of video thanks for taking us along while showing bits of your process can’t wait to see more videos in this style should you make them 😊
I love love love your journals! Could you maybe sometime show how you prep your pages? I like how you’ve added paint and color so you don’t have to start with a blank white page.
Thank you so much. I have posted videos sharing the process perhaps you can check these out ua-cam.com/video/eZXyy8clJFI/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/qPSYGs-QU0w/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/cphSratF2XA/v-deo.html
Loved this so much! It was so nice to see bits of your Okinawa adventure. It is interesting that you find the packaging to something simple like medicine different and interesting lol Btw, my daughter noticed you right away haha She said, "It's mommy's friend that we saw in Malaysia!!" haha :D
I am going to Portugal on Wednesday for a week. I have tried a few approaches to journalling before. I think the main issue I have run into was putting to much expectation on writing out what happened. I found that the exercise of writing was too much. On my last trip, I kept google keep notes on each place and attached pictures. I found voice-to-text for what happened much easier than physically writing, but I don't like the digital as much. For this trip, here is the plan: I am going to use voice-to-text on google keep to record feelings and thoughts and stories. I am going to collect my ephemera and scraps while on the trip. When I get home, I am going to paste all my stuff into my notebook I am using, get pictures printed, and I will print out the google keep notes and paste them into the journal.
Both. It depends where and how long the duration is for my trip. Sometimes I continue writing in my planner weekly insert or i would just open a fresh new insert for a destination.

thats a good one, do whatever u r comfortable with! have a great trip!
Do you use a separate journal for your trips or just place all of your memories in your current journal?
Both. It depends where and how long the duration is for my trip. Sometimes I continue writing in my planner weekly insert or i would just open a fresh new insert for a destination.
may I ask the folder you use to keep the passport journal notebook?
hmm was it in this video?
Do you ever have issues with the pages tearing from the binding?
Glad u asked! Yes, some of my inserts are too fat/chunky so i had to tie it up with another band. That works for me :)
What type of journal did you use here?
I am using Traveler's Notebook amzn.to/38zRJ2K shope.ee/6KPIqVZ5dY
Did you go to any Travelers stores?
Nope they dont have it at Okinawa
Well, i love your drawings & hopefully i can do the same for me ❤
Thank you! I cant really draw but I tried! U shud too!
