Whelp, I finally lost it. I transformed this cute little elf plush robot from Big Lots into a scary Krampus-type goblin demon guy. I use paper clay for the first time because it is air dry and I paint him with acrylics. This project was a blast and definitely an image you will never get out of your head lol. Sorry not sorry. I am so happy to see you work with an air dry clay. It’s proof that fine detail is possible. I work with polymer and air dry clay. Love them both.

To avoid cracking, it might help to put your pieces in a paper bag or a not-quite-sealed tote, so the surface doesn't dry so much faster than the rest of the material, like when contractors put plastic film over concrete slabs that have set but not yet cured

Welcome sir... To my world, paper clay and paper mache! He turned out great! The action of the tong with that creepy face is perfect! Oh and when it comes to cracks with paper clay, all you have to do is add some paper clay right in the crack smooth it with water and the crack is no more.
This one was amazing... just like ALL of the others. But the best part of this video was hearing using the gloss varnish to make "his tongue, teeth and other parts of his face shiny and DEWY"!!! Love you Anthony!

The thing about paper clay that people should probably know before trying it is that you're supposed to burn it like regular clay. The sculpture in this video seems to hold together well, though.

I have sensory issues and have to wear gloves for a lot of different tasks due to the feel of things making me want to remove my skin.
