- Ben Koller of Converge playing "Dark Horse" on an electronic drum kit triggering the Kurt Ballou Signature Series Drum Library from Room Sound.
Available now: www.roomsound.com
Fun fact, the kit was not plugged in to electricity. All power was provided by Ben’s drumming.
Hear the guitars? Also provided by Ben’s drumming. Truly beautiful
Best I've ever heard an E-Kit sound.
I've tried many drum sample librarys in the past few years, but this has the best sounding cymbals so far. Thanks a lot Kurt!
Glad you dig it!
Even the studio engineer cant resist airdrumming along
that's kurt ballou
The engineer wrote this song and recorded the original lmao
…he wrote it, recorded it, and yet still can’t help air drumming. Haha! Pretty rad if you ask me.
When the double bass hits. *chef kiss*
Jesus fuck, Kurt absolutely killed it! Sounds so damn good.
Take the day off guys, Ben did our cardio for us.
If my coffin isn’t put into the ground to that riff at 02:00 I’m not dying
One of my favorite drum performances. Ben Koller is an absolute beast
I get tired just looking at him play. Awesome!
...... CONVERGE ...... for those who don't know... Damn we miss you Guys..
EZDrummer 1 & 2, Superior Drummer 2 & 3, Steven Slate Drums and Get Good Drums: I've got them all. But nothing, and I mean NOTHING comes close to this library. It works so well. Ballou and RoomSound hit the sweet spot with this.
I haven't gone back to anything else since I got this either!
Guest air drums by Kurt Ballou 2:11
Goddamn, BEN! He's got the chops!
No one mentioning the Descendants shirt? Ok I Will. MUG MUG MUG
COFFEE MUG. GONNA CLEAR AWAY THE HAZE.
They should post it with out the digital sounds. Like just the thud and click of playing the digital drums.
Dude is a freak. In the best possible way.
Look at him go! I fraggin LOVE this.
Amazing
Can we see him do it on Rock Band? I'm still striving for that 100% on expert on this one.
So intensely gonna buy this.
Amazing, both of you! So cool man.
This man is the man!
My favourite drummer
Ben is quite simply badass! As if any other description was even possible.
insane!!!!
killin that snare boss
ON POINT
You Rule All Ben!
Excelente
Tight.
So fucking good
nice
Gawd dayum
💥💥💥
This is everything I could have wanted! Awesome! Will you guys be making any videos showing how to route out the kit pieces through Kontakt into DAWs?
Certainly! We've actually created a whole bunch of routing presets that will make Kontakt's routing extremely simple in every DAW. Additionally, we've got a TON of educational videos coming after the library's official release on 12/23.
Groovy. You guys rule.
RoomSoundOfficial hey there, i don’t see such videos available when I check the available room sound videos. Whereabouts can I find these? Thanks!
@@RoomSoundDrumSamples where can I find the videos?😊🤘🏻
Bas Peters van Nijenhof www.roomsound.com/support
so cool/good! also, thought the calling an electronic drum set an "e-kit" is super funny!
John Collins I'm surprised you never heard an e-kit called that before this video. Pretty common hahaha
daaaaaaaamn
What kit is this? I know this vid is 6 years old, but that kit looks legit compared to some that I have been looking at. (Alesis Nitro Mesh for example looks tiny).
You can totally tell he's influenced by Bill Stevenson
this sounds amazing. was considering getting a Roland TD-17 kit which lets users import sounds via SD card. I've done some audio recording before but never really messed with DAW or KONTAKT. Would it be possible to get those sounds onto the card and how would one go about doing that? Thanks.
It's not possible to add this library to your drum brain. The realistic sample playback is due in large part to our customized sample playback engine built in Kontakt Player. Plus, the library itself is very large in terms of file size and wouldn't fit in the limited memory of the drum brain.
🤘🏻
Sounds amazing, obviously, but it looks like Ben's playing on a toy kit.
Crooked Face Ye, on a + 5000$ toy kit lol
Funny that this song is acctually not on the Converge Song Midi Track Grooves in the Programm i just bought ^^
Still good Job with that Output,.. the Sound is plain awesome. Woth the bucks!
im fairly new if i purchased this how could i use it with my current daw. is this a vst or just the samples.
The samples exist as a virtual instrument inside the free Kontakt Player, which is included with the purchase of the library. For more info, check out www.roomsound.com/kurtballou.html
What an absolute skin zaddy
this is going to be very dumb as i’m new to all of this, but what program do you use to access the sounds?
www.roomsound.com/products/kurtballou
Give us the playalong drumless track pleeeeeaaaaaaaaaasseeeeeee
хорош
wait does that mean they use ekits on albums?
Converge uses acoustic drums to make their records. We sampled the actual drum kit used on their records in the same studio where they record (Godcity) in order to capture tones that are remarkably similar to the sound of those records. See more here: www.roomsound.com/products/kurtballou/
@@RoomSoundDrumSamples oh, cool! thanks for the explanation
Arf.. We can't use it on logic? :(
It's fully compatible with all major DAWs, including Logic Pro via the free Kontakt Player
I really, really don't wnat to idolize him but he's, at least to me, one of the greatest drummers ever in every genre.
The drums sound fine and Ben's playing is stellar, but it won't replace an acoustic kit. There's little dynamics, most hits sound exactly the same.
for most bedroom drummers, that's a feature
Se dio fosse un batterista, sarebbe Ben Koller
Fucking Christ this dude is good... he must listen to lots of CONVERGE
For all those born to serve
And those that chose to hide
(How many worker bees died within our hive)
Let their sadness be our blessing
Let their losses
Lead the way
The dark horse will one day come
To free the light from all of us
One day the dark horse will come
For all those born to die
And those that lost the fight
(How many fallen friends died within our sights)
Let their hard roads be our way out
Let their passion lead the way
The dark horse will one day come
To free the light from all of us
One day the dark horse will come
No matter the man or the machine
Beasts will become what
They were meant to be
In the name of lovers in the name of wars
We'll show the demons for what they are
Dark horse ride
Towards the light
Dark horse ride onward
Towards to light
Onward
Massive hundred thousand dollar studio. More than likely Neve or SSL condole; records with midi through usb XD (my guess)
You may have missed the point of the video. The samples here were recorded through Kurt's extensive (and fantastic) gear. This is a demonstration of those samples played back via MIDI to demonstrate how they sound in a mix context when used.
@@RoomSoundDrumSamples I read the description. Poking fun....
Nice cymbals but the snare sounds like plastic.
I'd suggest checking out the product page at www.roomsound.com/kurtballou.html . We have a demonstration of all the snares with no processing at all on them. I think you might be inclined to change your opinion if you heard the snares by themselves. At any rate, we appreciate your feedback!
You don't like Kurt's drum sounds then.
That's pretty much what the snare sounds like on that record, which is sorta the point of this video. It's a sound pack, this isn't the only snare sound.
Complete crap sound.
lecturehc lol wtf, this is the best sounding electronic kit I've ever heard in my life
That's a really silly thing to say.
RLLY?
It's lonely under that Bridge huh?..
Fuck yes an instrumental version
