Just noticed 5K subs. Congratulations you deserve it! We are too old to move to Alaska and wife would never leave grandkids anyway but if we did you would be our go to source.
Oh you are so nice! Thank you.... well you can experience Alaska through our channel.( and stay warm that way.. Lol) Let me know if you have any suggestions for a video you would like to see with time..! Thanks for watching us😊
Yes. My poor van was " riding low" lol...with all that weight! Oh well she came through for us... we are moose hunting now. Hoping to get one soon...meat is so expensive and I don't really trust meat from the store anymore
cool to see Alaska videos...im born n raised Alaskan currently living in Anchorage. I have lived in kenai, soldotna, kodiak, girdwood so been here n there lol
Hi! Great helpers! We have been following the prices for the things we buy most, for awhile now. Wow the prices there are so high compared to what we are paying here. Great info in this video. Hope your having a good weekend.
Whin will yeal be doing a stock up hall on meats an other foods since the fps.s has come out now that would be a good video to have on hand for ones that's looking to move up there. God bless stay safe up there you guys keep sm3❤
Oh thank you! We are hoping for another Costco haul in next couple of weeks before the snow comes. The roads to Anchorage get aweful when it gets icy.... Thanks for watching us!😊
While you’re stocking up on food , don’t forget to grab Rosie’s Pasta products, made locally in sterling alaska , Three Bears, and Save U more , carry the products.Enjoy!
Thanks for price sharing, i live in Wyoming and it is surprising to me that your prices are lower then here, of course we dont have a Costco. But just comparing to like Walmart and Safeway
Oh wow, that is surprising!!! Well we may do another haul soon... of course that means another video too. 😊 It's getting colder here and leaves are falling off the trees. Winter is on its way in!
Hey Sarah..could you do a video on the inside of your cabin? Would love to see how you live & organize things... Thanks..stay warm...winter is coming..❤❤
Hello there! We will plan on that once we get inside siding up. We are hoping before winter. That's a great idea though...! when you build something from the ground up and pay as you go...it's goes slower than you want sometimes!...😊
Hi Sarah, how often did you say you went to Anchorage for your big shopping? Do you take yourselves out to lunch as a reward? If so, where do you go? You all are so much fun to watch and love hearing your narrative, Sarah. Did you and Jeff ever think about teaching CLASSES or holding seminars about everything one needs to know before moving to Alaska to newcomers? Perhaps at the library. Love your ingenuity !!!❤ PS: glad to see all of you back.
We shop there about once a month. My poor old van still can make the trip! Ha! She is still pluggin away.... so sometimes as a reward because we are so hungry at the end we just get their Costco pizza. It's cheap and easy and by the end we are ready to leave! That's a great idea on doing a seminar or class about prepping for Alaska. We would definitely have many things to share on that note...great idea. Possibly a good video idea too.?? All is well here, getting colder too... No " termination dust" on the mountains yet..... but it will be soon
Ok I have a question why didn’t the other kids get some chips to only Houston gets chips I came back from Boston and in the morning I took my niece to Costco and I told her to go on food shopping spree I spent $2,347.00 and I two weeks I am doing this with my nephew to my niece and her husband have four kids it does help a lot
Oh don't you worry....Lily and Harley get goodies too!!! They get first dibs at all the things. They love those fruity kombucha drinks... yes it's so easy to dump thousands at Costco!!! Well that was very nice of you with your niece!!!😊
Are you buying back to school snacks for them for when they come home from school? How much does it cost school supplies there? Is it expensive?❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
They love the Dr. Brew kombucha drinks....much better than sodas in my opinion. They also love string cheese and the mini babybell cheeses. Harley and Lily love peaches and cream for a snack too. I have been making homemade salsa from our garden which the whole family likes!😊 ...now just need the moose meat to make a wonderful fahita meal with that!
Well thank you so very much for your support! Ok so this supply run will honestly last us about 2 weeks. There are basically 4 men - so you can imagine how fast it goes!!! Lol. However we don't eat out, no fast food, and we cook and prepare just about every meal. So we try our best to be as frugal as we can with meals. I also try to meal plan when possible. We are actively hunting for moose so if we are successful, that will save us so much money.!!! Plus it's excellent meat
Oh yes, love that huge tub of sour cream...it's so affordable there. Once the kids grow up and we are not feeding 6 people the sizes of items won't matter as much!...but until then we do love Costco.
Hi Sarah. Greetings from Florida. I have to ask, is the Anchorage Costco closer than the Fairbanks one? You go to the Costco business one? Our closest business one is in Orlando. Do you burn trash? In NY, we called snow machines snowmobiles. How do you make vinegar? I think random questions to ask when I watch your videos. Take care till next time😊
Hello there!!! I do think the Anchorage Costco is closer. No worries on the questions. I have not been to the business Costco yet....it is on my radar for sure! Yes we do burn some trash, we recycle when we can and we do dump runs. Sometimes instead of throwing larger things away, we may ask a neighbor or a friend if they want that item first. Everything here is expensive and there is no such thing as 2 day shipping up here! Lol. It's like 2 week shipping....! Yes I have about a gallon of homemade vinegar. As far as I know it's apple cider now- then as it sits it turns into a vinegar in 1-2 months. We just chopped up apples, added sugar & distilled water and let that sit for a while. Then strained the apples out a few weeks ago...so I am hoping it turns out? Our first time so we will see! ....crossing fingers!
Awesome Larry. I recommend watching the video from Doug & Stacy Off Grid where she makes homemade apple cider vinegar. That's the video we watched. Easy to follow and simple...
Hmmmm...that's a tricky question. I do a little bit, but we keep lots of items needed in case of an emergency. I have a stitch kit, peroxide, and lots of natural remedies that actually work very effectively. So I don't worry too much about the little things. We never go to the Dr. We can fix or treat most of our ailments with our natural cures. I do worry about bigger things like broken bones, etc... If necessary I am sure Life flight could land on our lot for something like that. Very good question and trust me before we moved out of the city I was asking myself how I felt about that one! Lol Building up my medicine cabinet with items I trust has been my answer...
@@Alaskan6pack Thank You for answering-I worry about wanting to move to the adirondacks-def not where u are but I live in almost the city where I can walk to medical care if I needed it and going from that to rural living it concerns me Thanks again!
I totally understand that feeling. Before we moved, just the thought of not having cell phone reception would freak me out...to the core. However I remember having a conversation with myself about " how did we as humans USED to live so remote, and live and thrive, and somehow people found a way..." Answering those questions to myself gave me the courage to try new things and feel more comfortable....hopefully that makes sense. I do understand though!!! It's a wierd mental transition....
@@Alaskan6pack it’s funny I actually love when my phone isn’t on or there is no tv. I actually believe you live a better quality of life with not always being bombarded with the outside
Hello there!!!! So we homeschool and so we sometimes purchase our supplies through other sources. However I do love the bulk legal yellow notepads at Costco. They also have cheap pens & pencils too. Our family loves to make lists and use colored gel pens ! And we will write them on the colored legal pads. Brady will keep track of his mechanic jobs and customers that way. I use my lists for shopping and daily "to-do"s around here. Love list making....! And so the short answer is yes we buy select things at Costco for school & chores😊
Well thank you for the honesty!!! Everyone is so different so just trying to throw stuff out there... I am hoping for a moose soon. If we do get a moose, hoping to make some bone broth! Possibly a video there... 😊
It would make sense to can veg you grow or eat fresh, keep chickens, a goat for milk/cheese & other farm animals. I really don't see the point of shopping when you could fish, trap wild animals etc. I watch a lot of these Alaskan channels & most live off the land. Just sayin' 🌍🇿🇦👍
Yep you are right. It's always more of a struggle too when you don't have the typical house or barn set up. Limited funds, etc...however it's something to strive for in the future for sure...!
I am sitting pretty good on flour. Have back up sugar too. We are hoping to do a haul in October that's pretty large so we don't have to go back to Anchorage until Jan?. The roads turn super icy and very dangerous...need lots of coffee too. We have been moose hunting, so if we are successful we are good on meat. Crossing fingers

There is a new Costco business center that is open to all Costco members you should check out sometime in Anchorage.
