That’s dude is a wizard on bass. All of that aside. I absolutely love this band just tripped over them this week. When I hear them I feel like I can breath freely. Thank you
Massive props to the studio engineer for not drowning out the bass and instead accentuating it and making it the driving force of the song. I swear that the more I see this band the more I think they have one of the best rhythm sections going right now.
Discovered these guys via a random YT Music recommendation a week ago ("The World's Biggest Paving Slab"), and was instantly hooked. Love seeing more of them in my feed!
phenomenally tight drum and bass, focused , great hooks and melody, beautiful vocals and thusfar every song i've heard from English Teacher whether live or studio is stunning!
This band will be making waves (more than just the sound type). Really interesting and enjoyable compositions and really tight performances live. Seriously cool stuff!
Really fresh sound, and at 65 I've pretty much heard all the top bands. Really talented musicians and I've also heard the young lady's vocal range on other tracks and she is superb.
I just stumbled onto this band yesterday and I am a big fan already. What a perfect album they made. This song being one of the many highlights. Bands like this lighten up life.
Mostly it feels like a waste So much laughter un-canned I'd forgotten the taste Don't make me go back All the plans we tiptoed around In quiet hours, Daffodil buds There is a reason The first nine months doesn't count Nearly (Presque, wait no) Daffodils Nearly (Presque, wait no) Daffodils Sometimes it tears like a freight train Through a christening Displacing the new growth And making everything ugly Sometimes I want to make a home on it To look between the wheels I'm scared of being under I've started whistling in the mornings I like to hear the birds sing Nearly (Presque, wait no) Daffodils Nearly (Presque, wait no) Daffodils Last night I dreamt that we lasted all the way 'til spring But now the fields are full of red and blue with nothing in between You can lead water to the daffodils Mostly it feels like a waste So much laughter un-canned I'd forgotten the taste Don't make me Nearly (Presque, wait no) Daffodils Nearly (Presque, wait no) Daffodils Last night I dreamt that we lasted all the way 'til spring But now the fields are full of red and blue with nothing in between You can lead water to the daffodils But you can't make them drink
Verses and chorus 4/4, but then by my count the instrumental breakdown is a polyrhythm with the guitar (piano in album version) playing 6/4 over a 7/4 drum beat. Whatever it is, it's absolute witchcraft.

drummer too
@@stereofidelic67 Agreed. That guy on the drums has put in a shift. Just superb
Agreed. Fantastic drumming. But the band as a whole our one tight and groovy group. Briljant.
I agree this is what music should make you feel, sad, happy, inspired, not just blah
To me they feel like a faster and newer version of The Sundays
which I wholeheartedly endorse
they are actually quite brilliant, rare to see real musicians that play so uniquely these days, but it seems the brits still got it
yeah the amount of super talented british bands rn, Black Midi, BCNR, Squid, IDLES, Shame, etc. it's extraordinary to see honestly

Their rhythm section is tight as fuck. Especially on this song. Really impressive synergy between the drums and bass

Same

OK, I’m convinced. These guys are damn good….and several of them appear to be in middle school!
Omg a new incarnation of The Sundays and The Smiths
heart meltingly fantastic
The Mercury Prize took me here! Well deserved winners and .. look! Bass tapping! Y'don't see that in yer every day Indie band.
They met at a conservatoire, like black country new road. Incredible to watch it live.
This band will be making waves (more than just the sound type). Really interesting and enjoyable compositions and really tight performances live. Seriously cool stuff!
The bass lines are brilliant!
Just dont stop.... what you all have... keep going, its magic.
This
True. Magic.
This is a fantastic song!
WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT’S A BASS GUITAR PART AND NOT A SYNTH??? 🫨🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I thought the same thing until I watched this 🤯
Magnificent musicianship, beautiful bit of music every credit 🕺👍🏽
Really fresh sound, and at 65 I've pretty much heard all the top bands. Really talented musicians and I've also heard the young lady's vocal range on other tracks and she is superb.

Need the lyrics version. - don't want to miss a thing!!!!
Mostly it feels like a waste
So much laughter un-canned
I'd forgotten the taste
Don't make me go back
All the plans we tiptoed around
In quiet hours, Daffodil buds
There is a reason
The first nine months doesn't count
Nearly
(Presque, wait no)
Daffodils
Nearly
(Presque, wait no)
Daffodils
Sometimes it tears like a freight train
Through a christening
Displacing the new growth
And making everything ugly
Sometimes I want to make a home on it
To look between the wheels I'm scared of being under
I've started whistling in the mornings
I like to hear the birds sing
Nearly
(Presque, wait no)
Daffodils
Nearly
(Presque, wait no)
Daffodils
Last night I dreamt that we lasted all the way 'til spring
But now the fields are full of red and blue with nothing in between
You can lead water to the daffodils
Mostly it feels like a waste
So much laughter un-canned
I'd forgotten the taste
Don't make me
Nearly
(Presque, wait no)
Daffodils
Nearly
(Presque, wait no)
Daffodils
Last night I dreamt that we lasted all the way 'til spring
But now the fields are full of red and blue with nothing in between
You can lead water to the daffodils
But you can't make them drink
Pure class, just getting classier and classier and even more classic.

All fantastic, but damn! That drummer is super solid.

Great band on stage. Saw them in Paris. Lily Fontaine is charismatic and the musiciens are very good. (special mention to the drummer).
That was cool.
got tickets to see them on may 22 in intimate pub setting in dublin.
lucky me !
That bass is epic, interesting technique, tabs anyone?
Les Claypool has them 😊
These guys can play amazingly. The bass dude is impressive, but really all of them.
Love your band Regards mikey from the band the pink hurts seaside fishing village town UA-cam
They might try to convince you that The Last Dinner Party's debut album is UK's Best Debut of the Year.
They're wrong. 👌
Polly Styrene vibes 💖👌
Thought so too.
A lot like the Blue Aeroplanes early stuff - the poetic talk/singing lyrics are very reminiscent.
I don't like modern music usually but I've just found these terrific
Holy shit i thought the bass was being played on a synth when I first heard. Ridiculous talent in this band!
Why hasn't this had a million views yet? are people deaf?
Thank god that real bands like this exist amongst all the utter rubbish chart tosh. Also, thank god that BBC Radio 6 exists 👍
7/4 ?

Feels like a tighter Squid. Not quite as proggy, but the Brits are putting most of the Americans to shame outside of Goose these days.
noice! a bit Courtney Barnett soundz
Young people rediscovering the past.
1979👌
Bless their youthful cotton socks !
They ain't exactly Cream but great to hear kids their age trying to create something progressive
Oh god I’m cringing at that comment.
Look, British music - derided as 'Indie' as it used to be growing up - doesn't sound like this. Where's the fucking melodyne?...
But im better thjaqn anyone .,
Love this band. So far a haven't heard a song on their album I don't like.
What's with the polyester afro? She's got better hair than that
"Better hair than that"?! What?! Her hair is magnificent!
