I agree with the sentiment that 343 is turning things around but I feel like I have got to say they are delivering more than anyone else currently is the gaming space. I know Halo was always the goat in terms of content so we are little spoiled but really is anyone else delivering content like infinite these days?
@@LiamYagerI mean there are exceptions, elden ring was amazing and baldurs gate is putting a lot of games to shame but I do agree, 343 seem to be doing an excellent job compared to most companies, especially in the free to play genre, especially especially after firing the old head and making the people in charge of mcc the head of it
I hope with them adding options to pay for Operations (Events), that weren't offered before, means they can finally cut back on the egregious prices of shop items. Now having these extra income sources. Additionally, start allowing single item purchases outside of just bundles too. I know none of that will actually happen, since they will not reduce potential money they are already getting through the store. But I can be hopeful, lol. Otherwise, I will just stick to buying the Seasonal Battle Passes, which are worth the price, and the free Operation items. Still very excited for this Season though, and actually hopeful for the future of Halo again.
I really really hope they go back and add past events to these operation things. I missed the tactical ops and tenrai events in season one and I REALLY want those cosmetics.
There’s still going to be FOMO. There is still stuff that’s no longer on the market, still events I haven’t seen return, and the battlepass’s free part REQUIRES you to play the first weeks of the season
They mentioned that events can be purchased afterward in the store, even the previous ones. And you can pay like, 5 dollars (I believe) to keep the events permanently when it does come out So there is no missing out, they're always going to be there

The only reason why it “goes away” is because they tick a box to disable it. Btw we are getting Flood themed stuff cuz apparently an actual Spartan gpt infected by the floor in lore. One of the many Spartan Containment Teams that guard the Halos and all that got compromised. So on top of Halo Wars and the books the door is even more open for the Flood to eventually come back in a Campaign. Whether that's good or not I dunno.

If 4v4 gets you a base completion of 150xp, and 12v12 gets you 200xp. My best guess it depends on mode type, but since it's custom games. XP gain may need to be balanced out somehow
im glad PVP is coming in many forms. I want to keep playing this game but multiplayer is still too sweaty for me. being able to just relax with the bois and slaughter aliens on our forge maps sounds incredible
glad for the new battle pass changes, even though it’s tier 50 only. Condensing them was the best the thing to do since it can get tiresome after getting straight xp boost and some trash helmets and emblems
I’d like to see some love to campaign yet, in many regards. Give more content to it, it still feels half baked. And show love to the people that purchased the whole game/campaign. Give them at least 1, if not more, premium battle passes. There’s armor that I want, and I simply refuse to pay for a BP when I’ve already paid $60 day one.
While this is definitely a step in the right direction, and I'll probably jump back in for some Extraction, I'm not sure it'll be enough to bring me back long term
the thing i dont get is about the free tiers of the bp and operations: lets say im going to buy it after it ended, i still can get all the rewards or the free stuf are gone and you left with 25 premium tiers?
My guess is you'll still have the full pass to unlock, they just won't let you progress it past the cut off date unless you pay for the full thing (specifically for bp). Operations you play free during the time it's active, then after if you didn't finish you can pay to do the rest. So in short, yea you should be able to get all the rewards after the period

Not that I'm aware of unfortunately. With the introduction of campaign AI to forge and later, Firefight, we might see some community made "campaign" stuff but no official campaign stuff as of yet

Yea but cyberpunk is a single player game. Halo's bread and butter always has been and always will be it's multiplayer. Which is why no halo has ever gotten single player dlc in the entire series

i dont have a problem with extra cosmetic purchases but having separate battle passes for each event is cringe af no matter the game imo. the changes sound good though. excited for all my homies that still or will play infinite! 😎👍
only thing im iffy on with these changes, is the battlepass expiring early for free players. I think the only justification for that, is the 40 tiers of free event stuff that last for at least 4 weeks each. So idk, im a bit divided with those changes tbh.
As long as all armour in game is earnable in game past present and future, I don’t pay for anything in game other then the game and dlc, season pass and cash shops are not dlc
FOMO is one of the most predatory and awful thing in gaming, right up there next to monetization. In fact, the two go hand in hand because if you fear missing out, you will buy it no matter the price. Apex does it, Overwatch, siege, every mobile game, Destiny, it’s awful. Happy Halo is getting it kinda right.
And TBH, the current system I think it is still better thanin other games. I play MW2 also, and I hate that you only have 2 months to complete the BP before it's gone forever, and the speed at what you can progress it it is ridicously slow.
I hope they add community forge maps wt each event/operation cus only 2 new maps is kinda lame and they kinda alr set the tone wt the last event so if they dont it will feel like a step back and ill be disappointed

So the Fomo from events is no longer about missing out on the cosmetics, it's about losing out on the ability to get them for free. It's not as bad, but that still seems like a 'fuck you' to the people who can only play a couple hours a week
This is amazing changes but the only issue I have is them locking the chief armour behind a level only 16 people in the world has Like 99% of players will never unlock that armour and like come in we’ve been asking to look like chief in multiplayer for well over a decade now Yes make it a challenge reward but make it something like 100% campaign to get it or something to do with campaign to give it some love
Honestly as much as I love everything for season 5, the fact that it looks like there willing to remove FOMO is the best part. Im curious if act man would share this sentiment, but as someone who left mid way though season 2, i would seriously appreciate them finding ways to bring the old events back. Now hopefully on top of events, they also bring back old weekly challenge rewards.
It’s bare minimum content, and you are accepting this when they could of done so much more, all we are technically getting is just AI, two armor cores and two maps, that’s not alot.
@@spartanjohn858 underlying systems are being changed on a very low level, which is a lot of work and only done, because the community wants it. Generally the changes coming with season 5 are good ones and celebrated by the community. Of course you can keep on being negative, but that doesn't sound like a healthy or fun way of interacting with your hobby.
@@spartanjohn858except those are all big ticket items, there’s still the smaller things in-between. they’re giving us things we _asked for_ , GOOD things like forge ai, custom match xp, no more event FOMO, removing the padding from season battlepasses like multiple tiers of the same coatings and emblem, two new modes, cosmetics the community has been asking for for a while now.. and we wouldnt have gotten NEARLY all of this in 8 FULL MONTHS when the old leadership was in charge so really you’re kind of lying
50 tier battlepass means probably half of it is good stuff and the other half is swaps and double xp.. I personally dont think thats good at all. Especially since it comes for the same price.

By combining the shoulder pads, and the emblems, it was roughly 50 tiers in the previous passes. Reducing the content by cutting it in half and expecting the same price doesn't feel fair to me.
I play the game for the content. So I agree that reducing the time to unlock items feels like 343 is punishing rather than rewarding game play. I enjoy playing Halo Infinite multiplayer and unlocking the achievements. So yeah I like the grind. I will say that with these changes it appears to benefit the players who don't enjoy the grind.

Its the concept of getting things others dont have thats appealing, the actual time aspect isnt. If you could do something impressive rather than just be there when it was happening, and got rewarded for that instead, dont you feel like that would be a better system? FOMO is just a stupid concept in general. Most people have a life and a career to attend to, we can’t always be around to play Halo when a special event or item comes out. I missed the entire season 1&2 because I was deployed in Al-Asaad Iraq, because of that I missed out on a lot of exclusive items for no reason. There should NEVER be a reason to limit DIGITAL items from being obtained. A digital item is not at all like a physical item, physical items have limited stock, digital items’ stock are unlimited because you can just code more in. Yea but cyberpunk is a single player game. Halo's bread and butter always has been and always will be it's multiplayer. Which is why no halo has ever gotten single player dlc in the entire series

The story continues through the books. As much as I would like dlc for campaign I believe they should just focus on the multiplayer for now, maybe introduce some spartan ops missions to fill in the void of the lack of campaign story.

I think the battlepass is gonna have 20 free tiers until the first operation starts, then you get 20 operation tiers each op if I'm not mistaken
i dont have a problem with extra cosmetic purchases but having separate battle passes for each event is cringe af no matter the game imo. the changes sound good though. excited for all my homies that still or will play infinite! 😎👍
The battle passes would be annoying if they weren't free. Usually I'm against stuff like this but I think 343 found a good middle ground here

only thing im iffy on with these changes, is the battlepass expiring early for free players. I think the only justification for that, is the 40 tiers of free event stuff that last for at least 4 weeks each. So idk, im a bit divided with those changes tbh.

FOMO is one of the most predatory and awful thing in gaming, right up there next to monetization. In fact, the two go hand in hand because if you fear missing out, you will buy it no matter the price. Apex does it, Overwatch, siege, every mobile game, Destiny, it’s awful. So the Fomo from events is no longer about missing out on the cosmetics, it's about losing out on the ability to get them for free. It's not as bad, but that still seems like a 'fuck you' to the people who can only play a couple hours a week
Events will last for 4-6 weeks and you can complete them in the "couple of hours" you mentioned in just one of those 6 weeks

Honestly as much as I love everything for season 5, the fact that it looks like there willing to remove FOMO is the best part.
Im curious if act man would share this sentiment, but as someone who left mid way though season 2, i would seriously appreciate them finding ways to bring the old events back.
Now hopefully on top of events, they also bring back old weekly challenge rewards.

It’s bare minimum content, and you are accepting this when they could of done so much more, all we are technically getting is just AI, two armor cores and two maps, that’s not alot.
@@spartanjohn858 underlying systems are being changed on a very low level, which is a lot of work and only done, because the community wants it. Generally the changes coming with season 5 are good ones and celebrated by the community. Of course you can keep on being negative, but that doesn't sound like a healthy or fun way of interacting with your hobby.
@@spartanjohn858except those are all big ticket items, there’s still the smaller things in-between. they’re giving us things we _asked for_ , GOOD things like forge ai, custom match xp, no more event FOMO, removing the padding from season battlepasses like multiple tiers of the same coatings and emblem, two new modes, cosmetics the community has been asking for for a while now.. and we wouldnt have gotten NEARLY all of this in 8 FULL MONTHS when the old leadership was in charge

50 tier battlepass means probably half of it is good stuff and the other half is swaps and double xp.. I personally dont think thats good at all. Especially since it comes for the same price.

By combining the shoulder pads, and the emblems, it was roughly 50 tiers in the previous passes. Reducing the content by cutting it in half and expecting the same price doesn't feel fair to me.

I play the game for the content. So I agree that reducing the time to unlock items feels like 343 is punishing rather than rewarding game play. I enjoy playing Halo Infinite multiplayer and unlocking the achievements. So yeah I like the grind.
I will say that with these changes it appears to benefit the players who don't enjoy the grind.

Its the concept of getting things others dont have thats appealing, the actual time aspect isnt. If you could do something impressive rather than just be there when it was happening, and got rewarded for that instead, dont you feel like that would be a better system? FOMO is just a stupid concept in general. Most people have a life and a career to attend to, we can’t always be around to play Halo when a special event or item comes out. I missed the entire season 1&2 because I was deployed in Al-Asaad Iraq, because of that I missed out on a lot of exclusive items for no reason. There should NEVER be a reason to limit DIGITAL items from being obtained. A digital item is not at all like a physical item, physical items have limited stock, digital items’ stock are unlimited because you can just code more in. Can’t believe there are people out there who actually enjoy FOMO.

I didn't know not being able to earn the cosmetics I wanted for free negatively impacted gameplay and prevented me from playing. Or is it just that you care so much about wanting everything for free that you seem to have forgotten this game is F2P? And that cosmetics are just cosmetics
