Unlike many other civilisations, an existential threat brings the best out of the Jews. I applaud this group of individuals for showing humanity what we are capable of, if only we set our hearts, souls, minds and strength to it. A shared humanity where it is possible to love all our neighbours as ourselves. I've seen this first hand when I was trying to study Hebrew at a local synagogue. Someone in Auckland, New Zealand, decided to desecrate learning room. What happened next? Did my Hebrew teacher complain? Was he shocked? Did he accuse? Was he disillusioned? No. He just smiled, like he was used to it. Tidied up the room, and we had our lesson as usual. I was astounded. I'm not a Jew, and I was fully prepared to apologise to them on behalf of my new home, but it looked like no apology was necessary. My Hebrew teacher never blamed them. I'm a Christian. And I know Christlike behaviour when I saw it. They might outwardly reject the Christian faith for various reasons, but their actions often demonstrated to me that these are the flesh brothers and sisters of my Lord Jesus Christ. They are not perfect, and I've seen Jews sin. But it's just typical human weaknesses that plague everyone. In spite of this, they try their best to do what they think is right. Obviously, they can and do make mistakes sometimes. But anyone who tries to hold that against them falls into the transgression of hypocrisy. Instead, I see Jews as people I can happily coexist with, even if they consider my faith not kosher for them, I have yet to experience any form of discrimination by them because of my faith, except that they don't want me talking about Jesus too much in their sacred spaces, which is completely understandable, given their belief systems. Having said that, when I see Jesus, I say it. So, yes, there are conflicts between me and them. But I think they understand my position and I understand their position, and we can agree to disagree. My belief is that the day will come when our narratives will merge. But that's an event beyond the horizon. But when we're there, I'll see you all there!
What treatment? The only thing that is happening on campus, is that young Americans have become unable to accept the lies and distortions of a foreign nation.
@@TimothyDeSomerville what lies? I graduated from Columbia in 1964. A large portion of my class were Jewish. We were born in 1942 and those Jewish young men and their families were deeply affected by the Holocaust. I’m not Jewish but I developed a deep respect for Jewish people from witnessing the determination and excellence of my Jewish classmates in the face of such loss and suffering. Columbia has covered itself in shame.

I am a student from Pakistani Occupied Balochistan, I remember the history of Jews and Israel very well, and after reading history I came to the conclusion that Israel is the land of Jews.❤
What wonderful testimonials from these two students. I fear not only for Jewish people but for democracy in general. 'First they came for Jews....' The silent non-Jewish majority need to speak up for our Jewish brothers and sisters. I worry about the world my children are going to inherit.
Brave Jewish students : your value comes from the God of Israel, who has promised to love you with an everlasting love. Continue trusting in Him and receive All that HE has for you!
That is much older than that. There was a SciFi short story wherein a time traveler found that in the future the phrase would be “Anglo me down.” The story was probably written in the 1960s or early 70s. It is similar to the term “gyp” someone, or to “welsh” on a bet.

God bless you and may you find strength, Reef Rebels. Your words have deeply moved me. In the twilight years of my life, the weight of fear as a Jew is now palpable. As a young Jewish boy of 12 in Tehran, I endured beatings and hostility from groups of Muslim boys whenever I visited my cousin. This was a private torment, the details of which I only disclosed to my siblings a month ago. Such physical, emotional, and psychological torment was so prevalent, it was resignedly accepted as the norm of existence. It begs questioning, how did mere children come to harbor such enmity towards Jews? This was some sixty years ago, in an Iran that was, relatively speaking, more welcoming to Jews than Arab nations. The world appears to be oblivious to the deep-rooted nature of antisemitism within Islam. The scars of past abuse were reopened following the October 7 events, and the widespread student demonstrations against Israel stoked the flames of my fear of embracing my Jewish identity. Yet, in my professional life and personal interactions, I strive always to be of help to those I encounter. may the light of wisdom shine upon us as our greatest adversary in this world continues to be ignorance.
Such unfortunate boldness in your young adult lives. Thank you for standing against (mostly) ignorance, and a growing minority of Islamist hatred. הוא יבוא (He will come - 1 Thes 4:16-17)

Good for you guys. My wife and I are both doctors. You might want to think twice about a career in medicine, Once a great life in which you could "do well while doing good", doctors are now cogs in a corporate machine with little independence but with great responsibilities. I think doctors, who are by far "the most responsible" for "the value" of what's IN healthcare, earn about 8% of the money in healthcare. So who makes the money in healthcare? Administrators and corporate CEOs. The information is public. As Lincoln said, "Everyone is entitled to enjoy the fruits of their own labor." That no longer happens in medicine. I know this is largely off topic for this youtube but it makes me sad to see kids work so hard towards a goal and then be taken advantage by a system that values ONLY money and ROI.
