George is such a classic. At the time, he mentioned to us that David Letterman had contacted him about being on The Late Show, but said he didn't think he would feel comfortable going there. I told him to do it ... he went on the show later in 2006.
Thanks for posting Stew. George Harrison once said in an interview that George Jones had the greatest voice in American music. If Hank Williams is the King of country music, Jones is right after that’s for sure.
I like how George got his drinking pretty much under control at the end... it seems that way at least, compared to in his early years. That man literally gives me hope
Wow thats so cool i had a feeling it was around 2005 or 6 lol i knew he was not using his guitar anymore & Ron i dont think is with him anymore But a really good post really cool thanks!!!
George will be missed. I had the fortune of having this chat with him in Branson ... such a genuine man. And like others have said here, we lost a great performer today.
Hey Stew- Was this in about 1996? I lived in Branson at the time and was at that show and was standing outside that bus. He was walking into the Grand Palace, pry right after this interview, and I got a pic of him waving.
This interview was later ... around 2004. I started doing RVtoday in 2000, and the Branson visit was a few years later ... I think George had a few before we talked to him!
Who is the bass player? Any relation to George Jones. R.I.P. George - we have truly lost a great icon yesterday, but his music and songs will live on forever.
If you're talking about Tammy Wynette, she wasn't alive when this was filmed. She passed in 1998, and this was filmed in the early 2000's. Also if you didn't know, Tammy and George divorced in either 1975, or 76.
@@rockyfanatic6846 We shot this in 2006. George asked me at the end of the interview if he should take David Letterman's invitation to appear on The Late Show. He thought Letterman might just make fun of him. I told him, "DO it George ... Letterman is a big fan." He appeared on the show six months later, sang "He Stopped Loving Her Today", not a dry eye in the house!
The reason the inside looks so small compared with the outside is that it has a bonded whiskey warehouse on board...lol Oh come on , it's a joke - I love George to bits))))
Thanks for watching Ronald. The idea of the interview was to take George through his rig and highlight what he wanted to highlight. Sorry you didn't enjoy it. George was also enjoying some adult beverages at the time ... as you can imagine.
I love to see him smile
Makes me smile everytime I see him interact with people he was so down to earth...
The cutest old man, country legend...
Just watched George and Tammy wow what a heartbreaking movie , it seems like he really loved her and its sad
George was THE MAN!!!! I love his story
Thanks for posting this. Glad that he seemed to find peace with himself in later years. Listening to him right now! RIP George.
The world lost the greatest country singer of all time. RIP Possum. Thanks for sharing this video.
That's what I was thinking... He will be missed.
Same thing with the blues Legend B.B. King

Seeing that George said it's a 2003 model and was a year old.......
Good folks!
Never realized how fair-skinned the man was. Doesn't look like he spent much time in the sun in later years.
shhhhh.....White Lightning, I'm not game to try them Possum burger patties, Save The Possums.
i wonder if this was the last letterman show for geo? is it on the net somewhere?
George would over hear Nancy turn his fans away, so George would tell Nancy plz dont turn my fans away.
geo said the rv was a 2003 model, I think, and he said he had it a year. Looks like it was a used one?
what a fun video . thank you for posting. is this from 2004?
Looks like it's from 2002

Heard the words Camping World and I said goodbye
where did they keep Tammy?

Where do you find the George Jones sausage at
It was at Camping World back then. Not sure now ... thanks for watching!
Stew Oleson when was this taken

You are right about the whiskey on board! George was a classic.
did not see the toilet..............stupid interview......and what is here....and what is there.........but nice wheels GEO

@@olestew if that's true... I doubt he would want that broadcasted.
@@timdouglas9699 George was pretty open about all of that. The good, and the bad ... it's how he lived life.
George was quite open about that part of his life. He talked about it in depth in many of his interviews.
