    I have one, it is superb. The suspended sub chassis puts it into a different league to simple light turntables like the Rega Planars', it also means you can use it on normal lightweight furniture etc, you don't need all that mass, stone plinths etc. The original TD150 was the basis of the Linn Sondek, this deck costs as much whole, as a single upgrade for the Linn (let's see you can have a bearing, or a power supply, or better springs.....crazy nonsense).
    To have a 2M Bronze as standard is very unusual, this is a 400 euro cartridge, most have reds, some blues, I've not seen one of these as standard.

      Hi ! Does it have adjustable feet, or does suspended chassis makes level adjustment unnecessary ? Thanks

    Thanks for the unboxing. I've got to return one of these, and was worried I'd never get it all back in the box!

    Thank you for the video. Is it right that if I raise the tone arm lever up during playback at 8:45, the cartridge comes down again without stopping from the top? I am curious about this.

    Wait, skipped two key setup steps: the cartridge setup and the turntable drive setup. So, very good unboxing and basic assembly, not so good detail around the more complex setup aspects. Which is what I was actually looking for. But nice video.

    All cartridges mm or mc are native balanced... you can use the 2m bronze with a balanced phono stage with no problem. You don't need an mc cartridge for balanced connection

    • @hxosplus
      @hxosplus  2 роки тому +1

      No, they say you need a MC cartridge for true balanced connection since the majority of the MMs are having common ground.

    Hi, I also have this turntable but one thing I've never understood is the anti-skating adjustment, I can't keep my arm in balance without the centripetal force taking me inwards. adjustment made with an anti-skating test disc. Do you have any advice or is this normal???

    i have problems with mine. i have wow and flutter 0.15-0.2 and even sometimes 0.25 caused by optical incrimental encoder stabilization. Because it corrects speed often. like motor spins at 33.31 rpm and then encoder increase it to 33.33 causing wow and flutter instability. Then motor slows again to 33.31 and again stabilization see it and increase speed. it happens 1 time per minute. Drive system and motor in this turntable crap! for that price there should be synchronics good quality motor! Manual says that this Thorens has only 0.08% wow and flutter, its not true!

      @raphaelmabo5014 Рік тому +1

      Yes, it comes with an additional weight so it accepts 30g cartridges, like Thorens SPU. Yes, Thorens sells a re-branded Ortofon SPU as a Thorens. It fits perfectly.

    Anti-skating not adjusted correctly ! read the manual please ! greetings, Roger D from Begium
    Move the weight for the anti-skat- ing in the slot between the tonearm base at the back and the arm support at the front to the same value. On the scale, the long lines, seen from behind, indicate an increase of 0.5. To adjust the value, it is best to use a small screwdriver or the pin supplied with the tone arm height adjust- ment. Important: the basic position at the base of the arm specifies the value 0.5, i.e. the other values are based on this.

      It’s designed and engineered by Walter Fuchs and Helmut Thiele in Germany and manufactured by Ya Horng Electronics in Taiwan to Thorens specifications and quality demands. The owner and CEO of Ya Horng is a Thorens enthusiast. This turntable is a love child.

      It’s designed and engineered by Walter Fuchs and Helmut Thiele in Germany and built in Taiwan by a Thorens enthusiast to Thorens design, specifications and quality demands with quality materials. It cost 2 000 euro and would cost at least 3 000 euro if built in Germany.

    $3,000 for a "Made in Taiwan" turntable? What a joke. I'll stick with my "Made in Germany" TD 160 Super.

      The TD1500 is fully designed and engineered by Walter Fuchs and Helmut Thiele. It’s built to Thorens specifications, design in Taiwan with the highest quality control and with quality materials. It’s a 2 000 euro turntable that would cost 3 000 euro if made in Europe. It’s a best buy in several European magazines and it eats TD160 for breakfast.
      A major difference is that the suspension in the 1500 has a much better controlled movement, this means a more focused and distinctive sound.
      The DC motor with an optical decoder and advanced motor control means less speed variation and lower wow and flutter than the TD160.
