Agreed, mostly what attracts couple to tour maldives is the hut stay connecting from bridges stretching long in the middle of water, if we can build the same infrastructure where they create hotels, huts and resorts surrounding the waters it will be a big boost for tourism
Believe me there is a huge potential of tourism in Andaman and Nicobar islands and lakshadweep islands. We don't need to go Maldives , Mauritius, Bali . We have our own world class sea tourism. Just need to get it best infra and advertisement
I had the opportunity to visit Lakshadweep islands in 2014...thanks to my brother who is a UT civil services officer and was posted there...made lifetime memories in Bangaram island...where there were barely 10-12 persons... I always imagined spending time on a secluded island enjoying solitude...the water is emerald blue and so clear that we could watch the fishes and corals below...went snorkelling in Bangaram and it was a lifetime experience which I cherish till today...rode a speed vessel, luxury speed boat from Agari to Bangaram...got the opportunity to ride a helicopter from Kavaratti to Kichi on my way back and that was another precious memory...I always felt that Lakshadweep islands have tremendous tourism potential... though at that time there were a few hiccups while traveling from one island to another...I heard that new developments were going on for the past couple of years...would love to visit the newly developed island again
Maldives is very expensive. Lakshadweep India within the proximity and with same white sandy beach but much less expensive and safe waiting to be discovered. India itself is the world complete with diverse geography and cultures.
Personally I would like to say that Lakshadweep is beautiful and amazing but I think Andaman Islands are more diversified and lots more varieties and cultures of locations to visit ❤

First of all to develop this place, there should be direct flights from all major airports, and make cruise travel more often ...make more infrastructure there for stay like Maldives and increase the variety of watersports..
I was planning to go Maldives with family but now I have changed plans and decide to go to Lakshadweep. There is same Indian ocean as Maldives and it is move diverse and beautiful, also it is within our country.
