    So pleasantly surprised to see Junaid Jamshed's perfume here. He was a Pakistani legend. Never thought a Pakistani perfume would make the cut here. Lovely!

      @@WaftsfromTheLoft Yes, I will check it out when I am back in Pakistan for a visit. That brand is more famous for clothes but I am discovering a lot of niche stuff from your channel. Already closing in on buying one Areej, with Bortnikoff and Papillon next in line. Keep doing these videos please :)

    What a great selection! Anubis is top of my wants list it’s soo good (and Dryad is too). It smells to me like the workshop of a master cabinet maker as he applies the final coat of rich varnish to his hardwood marquetry chest of drawers. Love Histoires de Parfums. I just got 1876. They do all their fragrances in beautiful 15Ml size bottles that come in exquisite boxes for just £30. Great idea for those on a budget. Currently wearing Iris Nazarena by Aedes de Venustas - a very beautiful winter fragrance.

    Great selection for winter weather! I love Knize Ten as well. I was lucKy enough to sample Tabac Blond by Caron (vintage) and I found the opening carnation similar to Knize Ten. It is said Marlene Dietrich wore both, and i was intrigued to try Knize Ten as well. On my skin, Knize Ten's birch tar dry down is slightly more sweeter, vanillary. Gorgeous.

    Your mention of Pure Havane but less sweet made me blind buy Oud Al Junaid at 26 pounds a moment ago. I don’t have Pure Havane but I am a tobacco lover . The only thing that made me stay away fro it was its sweetness. I’ll let you know my impressions when I receive it

    Wow...you've depleted your supply of Russian Oud? 😱
    About Papillon, I am inclined to believe she took her time to release her 5 compositions and that's why each of her releases feels polished and intelligently thought out.

    • @WaftsfromTheLoft

      gunmetal24 yes, I actually sold a few decants so I could buy the new areej releases! Yes, I agree about papillon; patience has meant that everything is polished, refined as good as it can be. An approach that perhaps a few houses could learn from? The notes for the new fragrance look delicious, can’t wait for it.

    I have been building kind of your top 10 for life thing. Wondering what your opinion is: Bogue MEM, Areej le Dore Ottoman Empire, Areej le Dore Russian Oud, Areej le Dore Malik Al Taif, Tauer L'air du Desert Marocain, Profumum Roma Ambre Aurea, Papillon Tobacco Rose, Haeckels Pegwell Bay. I know I am missing about two perfumes but did not know if Areej le Dore Baikal Gris and Pryn Parfum Turkish Leather should be there. How far off am I? Just if you were allowed ten fragrances for life.

    • @WaftsfromTheLoft
      @WaftsfromTheLoft  5 років тому

      Petar Molnar I don’t get much vanilla from AA, but I do get a real rich smokiness. AA has a slight extra dimension because of the real ambergris, although I’ve heard rumour that the newer stuff doesn’t have real ambergris anymore
