I bought a 2018 F Type R out of the showroom 2 years ago and I still get excited to drive it and still smiling 😀. I bought a new F Pace a few years before my F Type and it was the BEST decision ever to trade for the F Type👍🏻
I bought my dream car 2 yrs ago. 2018 F Type R right out of the showroom. Since the day I got it i can’t stop smiling either! The power, sound, speed and overall fun car to drive!!! I say get it! You only live once👍♥️
Got a 2016 F type S awd....way more fun than the M3 I tried (f80 was so darn heavy/huge). Great car, way better looking than an M3...10000x better. Great video.
VAP stage 4 now...with tcu zf8 tuning... 550hp now and super fast shifting.....it may not be slower than an M3 now too....not sure. I get 3.1 to 60 on e85 and 3.5 with 93...I run 93 most of the time ....on DWS06Plus's no less!
How do you find the F type v6s awd when comparing to the M3? The jag is probably 50kg lighter and also slower. I was asking about the driving experience. I am between the jag v6s, m3/m4 or audi rs5
I loved this video, it really shows what it's like to drive the F-Type first time, smiles galore 😀 Also that feeling never wears off, best car for smiles per miles for sure 😊
Great video. It was like watching myself drive an F-Type for the first time. It too is my dream car and it too exceeded all expectations. It was also the exact same spec as this one. I've never felt so connected to a car, it was awesome. Came away vowing to myself that one day I would own one. That was a few years ago. Looking for one to purchase right now.
I'm a Cov kid (1960's vintage) and my late step-dad was chief test driver during his career at Jaguar. I was lucky enough to have been taken out in E-Types, XJS's, XJ's etc etc. I have thus had a lifelong passion for the marque and currently run a 5.0XK Portfolio. I share your joy.....
Also the car is an amazing Grand Tourer, we took our V8R on a 3 week long European road trip across 10 countries, 4200 miles and it was very comfortable and the boot was big enough for me and the wife for 3 weeks including 2 big camera bags, tripod, hiking and also beach gear. Amazing 😍 Try that in any 911 or any other sports car 😄
@@200mphBrian haha it was summer so clothes were smaller 🙂 For us the key to packing was using various different sized duffel bags to fill out all the space in the boot and also used the coat hanger behind my seat to carry a jacket. I have photos of all the stuff around the car before packing and one once I loaded it, the family couldn't believe we managed to load all of it into the car 😁
The F-Type RWD V8 is 200 lbs lighter than the M3 with roughly double the torque. Its ten levels up from a BMW. Yes, I've had many. The V8 doesn't feel heavy, it feels like its going to leap out from under you. You involuntarily upshift just trying to hold on, then again, as the next gear is not enough to relieve the brutal acceleration.
Dude. As much as I love this Jag, nothing beats a naturally aspirated V8 beemer with m-sport trim and suspension. The driving dynamics are unmatched by anything except Porsche.
@@KH4444444444N I have a JB4 FBO 135i and it’s awful. Porsche is awful, too. Have you driven a modern car? The 911 is a 1938 design cancelled by Porsche for its outdated chassis in 1976. Why do you think NA engines are good? Obviously supercharging is the only way to go. NA is ultra cheap to build, thats why OEMs push it.
I liked this review Ben, loved your past detailing connection with Jags., lovely take. I nearly bought the F Type S a few years ago, but have just bought an F Type R AWD V8 in black with carbon pack & carbon alloy insets. (Not new!) pick up 25th!, going to be a long week. Thanks for an enjoyable watch :)
Lovely Motor, recently purchased a classic XJS V12 1989 with only 24,000 miles on the clock!! Toying with the idea of chopping in my BMW X2 M35I & going for one of these!! Many Thanks, Peace From London. 👍👍👍
You know it's a great car when you giggle like an idiot every time you punch it. Looks like you've already made your choice, now it's time to come to terms with it.. ;) On a side note: I'd love to see a point-of-view vid of your favourite roads. You've talked about them before at length, but a picture -or video- speaks a thousand words! Love the content, keep it up!
Sometimes, it's more emotions than words that help the viewer get an idea of what the car is like to drive and this, your review of the gorgeous white F Type is one perfect example. Thank you and off to classifieds..

It must be the dopest car in sound and looks and the pulling is amazing good for only 340hp..a remap and intercooler it will be sickk.. Engine and gearbox are really reliable.. Big step
Great video! Loved hearing your story and seeing your dreams come true driving the car. Pretty cool that your aunt works for SVO. I'd like to see you drive an R or SVR to compare and see your reaction. You might decide to go that route instead. 😉
I just bought one they are super fun to drive i have owned bmw as well and im not even gonna dare to compare the ftype its absolutely out of this world so strong for a v6 mine is black with red interior i even sleep in it 😀😀
what’s the reliability on the v6? i’ve looked into the v6 f types but shy away because of a few horrible reliability reviews yet a good amount of great reliability reviews
Most talk about rattles or electrical gremlins but never engine.. Bmw and audi tho the horror stories on car that has less than 30.000 miles the engine is gone.. Rods cranks and bs
Theres quite a lot of info on the forums about expensive injector problems, and issues with the supercharger. Also the TATA steel on this car is terrible and so lots of potential rust problems underneath. Also dealer support isnt great either allegedly. I still love em though.
Coupe might look a bit better, but there's no comparison to the aural experience the cabrio gives you with the top down. God... Going on to 5 years and still cracks me up (and my other sports car is a GT3...).
@@be1441 it's a great car that gives you the best of all worlds. I also own a DB9 and wondering if it's worth keeping anymore as the Jag ticks every box. The DB9 is quite special however..
Beautiful car love the sound! I beat the same car as your's with my new M 240i last night, but he wasn't to far behind me! Do you know what you're getting in quarter mile in this car?
Considering this vs a V8 R AWD. Whats the suspension like on bumpy roads (going fast or slow)? Are you able to use all/most of the power? I feel like 550HP on the R is nearly “too much” and I won’t be able to hear it rev that much before losing my license. Thoughts?
Check out one of my later videos where I bought a V8 S convertible. What a fantastic car! I’d say you can use all the power, but just be conscious. However if you’re getting AWD I wouldn’t worry. Mine was RWD and gripped pretty well
I totally agree!!! I've had my E93 M3 for 5 years and I have no intention of exchanging it for anything else. I have Evolve test pipes installed, and I have it remapped by Evolve and I have fitted a M performance exhaust and it sounds amazing. KEEP THE M3!! With a little bit of work, your M3 will be magical 😁👍🏻
The only F type worth buying is a V6 S (sadly it's stopped production) best sounding of the lot. Shame the car itself isn't very capable at anything else. Maybe if you were in your 60s. Better with a Boxster 981 S or GTS
