- We did it!!!!! In June 2020 we ordered our new Riverstone 39FKTH RV from Couch's RV Nation and worked with Ray Crain (AllaboutRVs). It took 3 months and 5 days for it to be delivered from the factory to Couch's RV Nation. This video shows us purchasing, its arrival, the Couch's RV Nation facility, and us overnighting 2 nights it in. Please let us take you with us on this jouney, you won't regret it. Thanks for watching and shout outs to Jeff Couch, Ray Crain, The Staff at RV Nation, Tom Ewing and yes Changing Lane (UA-camrs) for using their UA-cam Channel and Skills to teach new RVers like us.

Changing Lanes UA-cam Towing a Large Fifth Wheel
• Towing a Large 5th Whe...
What a beautiful rig. The truck is gorgeous and the Riverstone is incredible. They go so well together and if I saw you going down the road, I’d really be impressed. A real head turner, that’s for sure. As someone who’s pulled large 5th wheels (and I’m a single 59 year old female so YOU can drive too, Barb!), just take your time, don’t let anyone rush you and communicate. You’ll be just fine!! It’s a BIG rig, as you know, so going slow is the best thing. I’m sure you know this but I like to put it out there anyway. Have fun!! Sub’d. 😉
For comedy thank you so much for commenting and I do intend to learn to drive it I've been a little bit afraid but I will figure this out and we will let Bob film it so that ought to be pretty funny lol. Thanks again
@@HetteshWorld Haha!! You can do it!!! It’s very empowering and actually, very necessary. You wouldn’t want to do it for the first time in an emergency situation. It’s my “thing”……to get more women driving their rigs because there’s absolutely NO reason why we can’t. I’m looking forward to your upcoming videos and thx for the reply. 😉
I'm a single 51 year old female and I totally agree. I pulled my fifth wheel over 14k miles alone in 2019 when I went from Indiana to Alaska and back. COVID slowed me down in 2020, but I'm heading to the southwest this year for the Balloon Fiesta. Women can definitely tow trailers. It's really not a big deal at all.
Great video 👍🏻 so proud of you! My parents are the coolest
We get it from our daughters
Thank you much. This is new and fun for us.
Congratulations safe travels and thanks for sharing !!!🙏🏼
Nice video. We are looking at the 39rbfl in the same color. My wife likes the washer/location in the half bath off the kitchen.
It seems to be all good quality. We are happy with ours. Congrats and thanks
I like your videos. I work at Riverstone in the cabinet department. I would love to meet you guys some day! I will definitely subscribe and follow your journey. Hopefully some day that will be me.
Congratulations!!! I am 6-months into full-time living in an identical 39FKTH I purchased from Couch's RV Nation as well...such an amazing trailer.
The one thing you will might grow tired of is dealing with the OneTouch control panel as it can either be instant or take 2-3 minutes just to turn on one thing. I bought a Fire HD 8 Plus tablet and charging stand from Amazon and dedicated it to running the App...it runs flawlessly and can be carried around the trailer. All your non-12 volt lighting either have no manual switches or convenient access to the switch so you are always having to use the app.
I took the metal magnet plate off the control panel door and let the soft close keep the door shut as you will be in and out of it about 400 times a day.
Happy to help if you run into any weird issues; been tinkering with almost everything on mine...have fun!
Thank you so much,!!!!
Ugh One Control. We agree. We have experienced the panel is slow. Bob loves using his phone with the app and we do use Alexa. Being in Indy for the holidays we are using it on the computer since we have it in Texas right now. Thanks for the advice and details. This is great.
Oh ! Really enjoyed this one and so appreciate the excellent narration. Well done !
Thank you!!! We were super new when we made this videos lol.
We have a can am spider and I bought my wife a can am Ryker
That is great. This is Barb I hear the Ryker is a ton of fun to ride.
Wishing you all the best on your new adventure. We are Spyder owners and who knows perhaps RV ers one day. Beautiful unit. Interred in how you load the Spyder and how it feels to tow such a huge unit. Your mighty brave coming from a tent. Your introductory music is way too loud. Need better audio balance. Can’t wait to share your adventures. All the best. Ray & Linda from Florida.
Hopefully the audio is better now. I e learned a lot since this video. This is Barb.
Hey Guys. We all left so quickly we didn't think to get a video of our meet-up. So at least we did mention you all in our latest video. Hope your travels are going well. Your videos sure show it. OLT
When Bob and I want to do is I just want to do a video on who do we follow and why you know the gods the current and the up and coming which is us and you lol. I thought that might be interesting and maybe that would get our names and your names into some of the God's hands out there.
ok I just saw you had the truma from start
Yes we have been happy with it. Thanks you!
Love watching your videos but the sound is not very good. Perhaps getting a microphone will help
This was early on and you are right. Our future ones will be better on sound. Thanks for letting us know.
We have been learning and are making some changes. Thanks for being patience with us. I promise it is getting better. Thanks again!!!
WOW what a beautiful setup! So happy for you to begin the next journey! I want the exact same setup, We already have the Spyder so I better get busy saving for the rig and truck. LOL!
Great video🤙🏽🤙🏽!!! I love the attention to detail and how Koo Bob is!!! Yeah the Camper is pretty cool too😉😉. Good job guys, stay safe!!
Good video guys, congratulations and can't wait for the next one.
Thank you so much we are having fun doing this!!!
Wow! Nice set up! You did not spare an expense. Few years I hope to be doing the same thing but with a Silverado (sorry) I am a Chevy guy. But love this toy hauler fifth wheel set up. Where are you headed first??
We spent two days at couches RV nation and then we spent 2 weeks in thousand trails Indian lakes in Batesville Indiana getting it set up and then we spent 3 days separate days going down to Texas stopping at cracker barrel Walmart and Lowe's for overnights and then we have stated several different thousand trails Parks so I will have some videos coming out on all of that as well. thank you so much for contacting us this is super exciting please follow us along and I promise you you won't regret it you will enjoy the journey with us. We are getting ready to release a new video tonight hopefully of a more detailed description of the outside including the garage.
@@HetteshWorld Enjoy your journey!
I absolutely love this rig, truck and trailer looks great together! Like I said in one of your other videos, I would really like for y'all to do a video of the truck and trailer hooked up, a towing video would be great, and info on how the truck pulls that beautiful big trailer! Did y'all put airbags on the truck to level up the truck when hooked up? Outstanding combo!
Love it but your volume is so low I can’t hear y’all
Thank you for letting me know.
Hi guys, looked at your video a few weeks ago and figured I would ask. Have you done a pin weight with the trailer loaded for travel. (food, clothes and bike) We will be getting our 42FSKG in a few weeks as it is in paint now. We have a Harley in back, but we optioned it very similar to yours. The only thing we did not order was the out door TV or fridge. We toured the plant first of december and measured each cabinet opening and all outside spaces so we could plan our storage. We are also waiting on our Ram 3500 DRW loving known as Big Booty Judy in flame red. Our rep was super cool and told us if we got the paint code they would do the same color red as the truck. Saw the paint design from Riverstone and can't wait to hook it up and see in person.
thank you for contacting me I do have a couple other videos where we show what we have done for storage and changes on inside and outside but no we have not done the weight yet we want to do the full weight with everything the truck the camper and the bike and then also individually. My husband's parents came down with covid so we ended up putting her in storage the entire month of December and traveled back to Indiana and they both passed away so we were there for the whole month. We came back in January and are starting to feel normal again here and getting back in track. But we are at a place now where we are here for a month and that is one of the things we have planned to do. sorry that I wasn't able to give you any more advice than that but I'm super excited for you you will enjoy it and you will be very happy with it and love it that is for sure I feel like it's home and when we came back from Indiana after Bob's parents had passed it felt so good to be back here. We are very happy.
Hey guys just got turned on to your channel via John & Miriam's travel vlog. Watched your video and all I can say is WOW!!!! WOW!!!. Did you guys buy both the 5th wheel and the King Ranch Ford F350 at the same time or approximate time?
Hey this is Barb, we took five years to research. We sold the house in 2020 and we use the profits from selling the house to purchase the fifth wheel the Ford truck and the Can-Am spyder. And we ordered them in that order I gave to you but they came in the Can-Am Spyder in July the truck in August and the RV in september. We started officially full timing last September loading up the camper and heading to Texas became domiciles in Texas no longer Indiana residents and then started our journey from there and we don't regret it one minute. Thank you for checking us out we hope you become a regular and travel with us. John and Miriam are awesome they were one of the first Can-Am UA-camrs we ever watched and to meet them was a complete honor..
Very nice looking setup. Congratulations We are looking to get one next month.
Congrats this is great news. We hope to see you on the road.
Thanks for the video. I am in the process of purchasing a 37FLTH Riverstone Legacy. I have not been able to actually see one only lots of videos and the plant tour videos. None in my area VA. I will have to fly out to a dealer that has one so I can look at it first. How do you like it now that you have had it for some time? I am getting all the bells and whistles.
We are very happy and love it. We have been making it our own. There are some minor things like any home but I wouldn't have picked any other. Solid construction. We love it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Good video - suggest that the volume of the music right after the introduction should be turned down, quite a bit. It is way too loud when compared to the rest of the video. Thank you for considering our suggestion.
Yes and thank you very much. I am still learning so this helps.
Could you please share how the can-am fit in the garage? Thanks
Thank you so much for asking the question. We are jumping ahead in our series to a walk around of the outside in more detail in the improvements that we have made to it which does include the garage I am hoping to have that out within the next few days. And then I'll go back to our adorable schedule. Thank you so much again for asking
Please note that after the video that I mentioned comes out it will talk about it but still not a great detail we have another video that's coming out a little bit later that will go in detail the how we actually set everything up but you will get it pretty good picture from the video we have coming soon.
Also can you guys store the Can Am on board the RV?
What's neat about rrv is that it looks like a normal home when you go inside the living room a regular bedroom and bathroom and a nice kitchen. It is a toy hauler but it's considered a garage model because the door goes down into the back to get in but you cannot access the inside. I'm attaching our video for you thank you so much for asking

Very nice. We will be picking up our Legacy 391FSK around August. In your opinion is it worth paying an inspector as we will pick it up or does the RV Nation do a fair job getting it ready? Thoughts appreciated. Tom&Deb
You have to be careful with the RV inspector people cuz then it's all about selling the warranties. We did not go that route we spent so much time researching that I think we felt like we knew what we were looking for. However we went over it with a fine-tooth cone had them fix the things that were not perfect which was two minor things. Then they let us boondock for 2 days hooked up to electric they provided us water in our tank and then we use the camper is if we were living in it ran the water turn on the ovens you know the fridge the washer dryer slept in the bed the toilets yeah dishwasher you name it so for two days we lived in it there even though we were total newbies at the time lol. I would definitely recommend staying on their lot because if you find any problem at all there on top of it and fix it. Congratulations thank you for subscribing and good luck let us know if you have any more questions
how do you like the tortion bar ride?
As far as we know the camper rides very smoothly.. we have never had leaf springs. Inside everything rides great. We had some alignment issues but it was all covered under warranty. So far we are happy.
I have a question about your outside TV. We will be ordering the 42fskg today and considered doing the outside TV Arrangements similar to yours. It's not clear if you don't order the outside TV do you still get the outside speakers? If the speakers are there how are you able to tie into them? Are you able to use the JBL on the inside and run sound to the outside speakers? Why did you get a different outside TV than the one they offered? By the way, how do you like the solar panels? I know you mentioned you ordered the Battle Born batteries so I suspect you're currently running those panels into a couple of ARMs Until your battle born's get installed?
we had our battleborns installed before we picked it up so we've only been using the battleborn batteries. But we have only been hooked up in thousand trails site so we haven't been using them that much just a little bit here and there but they have been fine. the solar panels are also fine. We decided not to purchase the TV on the outside because it was optional and it was $1,400 added to the bill so we did away with that and bought the Roku TV 50 inch from Walmart for like under $300. And we are happy with that we do not have the same sound system that you have in the new newer version of the riverstone. Ours came with a Bose speaker. Currently we have a sound system that has an a b and c that plays the inside items inside and outside the speakers are still there on the outside regardless of whether you get the tv. we took our bows out from the inside because it didn't really serve any purpose and was kind of dumb and that's probably why they replaced it and your version. But we hooked it up to the TV outside which is awesome. As well as the batteries. We only use the Roku we weren't using any of the factory cabling.
Good luck and congratulations you will be very happy with your purchase.
@@HetteshWorld thanks so much for the information on the batteries. From what I understand with the Battle Born you use a different control system since they charge differently than the glass mat or lead acid. We will be doing many of the same things you did such as the independent suspension. I am convinced that is really the only way to go.
@@arthurnied5500 battleborn helped us to set up our controller to use as is. they are great to work with great customer service very amazing. We've been dealing with a guy named Derek so if you call let him know we said hey. We have ordered a new converter for the lithium charge and we have not yet installed it we have received it from battleborn but they are super great they will advise you on what you need and what you don't need they don't oversell you. We're also be adding the victron battery monitor we got through as well. Probably within the next couple weeks. This will help the charge lithium batteries to capacity. For the upgraded suspension you really don't feel the camper behind you. The truck runs smoother because the campers on it of course but you really don't feel the pull if you didn't have that suspension you would.
@@HetteshWorld your comments with battleborn are very consistent with so many others all across the board. I would like to go with a much more dry camper boondocking scenario than what's provided out of the box but I don't know what our needs will be yet. The Battle Born batteries are very expensive so I don't know if I need one or eight. I figure after we use it for a while we will get a better sense of what our demands are. I know Battle Born asks you that question right up front and it's probably a very important question. Glad to see you're getting the coverage you need and it sounds like you are doing all the right things. How exciting.
I curious as to what the difference is between your Rv and a 42fskg?
Our understanding is that the only difference is that they reverse the cooktop and the stove period the stove is now in the center island and it's a full size residential stove and it's now called insignia instead of furion and the sink is in the slide period but the fridge is the same it still has a dishwasher which is now in the slide as well. The living room appears to be the same the bedroom appears to be the same the garage appears to be the same I believe they may have some additional colors available. Thank you so much for commenting and for watching!
I’ll real interested in how you like it as time goes on and some of the things you may have done differently since your purchase. We have a Grand Design 376TH, which the basic floor plan except the living room and kitchen are reversed. Also our bed is fixed ( does not go up and down). We are planning on upgrading next year when I retire and the model you purchased has caught my eye. I definitely like the upgrades you did with the axles, solar panels. Did you have an option on a diesel generator and also did you consider satellite tv?
@@jamesr3406 the option for the generator from the factory is LP and we went with that because that was fine for us but the dealer such as couches who we dealt with can do the Owen generator upon request just like we had them replaced our batteries with battleborn batteries. Now depending on where you are we did order the batteries and have them ship there so I don't know about all that for where you would be and how that would work period satellite TV is not important for us because we are total streamers so we stream Netflix and Hulu and UA-cam TV and then we've also gotten some pretty good reception on the little antenna digital tv that comes up there so every now and then we watch real TV local news and stuff like that. I am working on trying to get those two videos of the inside and the outside out next week I'm actually jumping ahead of my video schedule cuz we've had a lot of questions on the camper. And then after that we'll go back to upgrades on the bike the truck and also detailed upgrades on the camper period but in the next upcoming videos we do discuss the upgrades just not all the details. Thank you so much if you haven't subscribed please do and it is wonderful to talk to you!
hi we are ordering a riverstone 39rk from rv nation in the same colour as yours can i ask you which super duty do you have
We have a Ford F350 King Ranch Dually and we chose it over the 450 because it has a higher payload to handle our higher pin weight. If yours is not a toy hauler. Then you can order what you need. Here is our video.
ua-cam.com/video/yFYFOa-di0I/v-deo.html
Thanks for asking.
