In India, tertiary education is also "college", even though there was no American influence in India LOL.
But I think maybe it's called college when it's 1 or 2 faculties (College of Science, or Engineering college) which is what is most common in India. But "university" is when they have many different faculties? Like UniofAuckland.
Not sure why they call high school college here though. 😂
