Just to clarify Blue, Al Ghazali's "The Incoherence of the Philosopher" was far more nuanced than just smacking down all philosophers. He wrote the book because he was worried about philosophers taking things too far. Like Ghazali was a strong Muslim and it was his prime objective to use all form of reason to connect back to Islam. What he was worried about was some philosophers wasting their time and energy discussing things hypothetical and philosophical scenarios that served to benefited to society and Islam. Basically, he thought philosophers were diving in so deep that the philosophy no longer had any practical application. He feared questions were being asked just for the sake of discussion instead of furthering religious understating. This is the "incoherence" he refers to in the title. But a lot of people in the West have misinterpreted Ghazali's wirings are rebuking all of philosophy. This is way too broad of a statement and a notoriously Orientalist viewpoint. Ghazali was not rebuking all of philosophy, he was just criticizing how many philosophers at the time were straying from actually productive philosophy. They were wasting time with impossible hypotheticals instead of tackling issues that human beings as they related to Islam and introspections. Like philosopher. He 100% understood its uses, which is why he made his critique of how philosophers at his time were straying form the true purpose philosophy should have.
The real one who despised all philosophy and logic though was Ibn Taymiyya who is the prototype of Salafism and Wahhabism (the ideologies producing terrorism). Anti-philosophical views is rather anathema in Islamic thought (as reason and studying the natural world are heavily promoted by the Qur'an itself). Sunnism and especially Shi'ism have always heavily utilized philosophical study, sometimes their native Islamic philosophy (such as what was actively spoken of and taught by thr Ahl al-Bayt) and other times synthesizing Greek thought (while also being critical of it too) but nonetheless has always held a strong position in the Islamic worldview.
First, before I say anything else, I want to say that I really, really enjoyed all three of these videos. They were a really nice perspective and, as always, very informative. I can tell the amount of love and work that went into making these, and I really appreciate it! Thank you for making these videos, and I'm going to show them to all my friends. I remember when I was young, I was sitting in church and the pastor was talking about this woman that Jesus had met at a well. A Samaritan woman, as it were. And she asked him about where the proper place to worship was. She said, and I'm paraphrasing, "Our ancestors worship on this mountain, but the Jews say that we must worship in Jerusalem." The pastor stopped reading and said, "Do you understand what that means? They worship the same God. The Jews and the Samaritans both worship the God of Jacob, the God of Abraham, the very same God. But they were separated over religious and political differences, despite being children of the same Father. Isn't that tragic?" Edit: I found the passage; it's the Gospel of John, Chapter 4, if anyone was interested.
Fun fact: The Samaritans were 'half breed' Jews- the children of those taken into captivity. They were a mixed people, and were kicked out of the Jewish cities by the religious leaders of the day to retain a pure, chosen people. Makes it even more tragic, huh?
Fun fact : all the abrahamic religions are poorly plagiarized from a dozen older religions, historic events and people. All religions are inventions of fascism for social and economic control of the people.
@@moodist1er First, no, that's demonstrably false, and second, fascism is actually a VERY young form of government while religion is ANCIENT, so how can something as ancient as religion be invented by something as young as fascism?
@@thethirdsicily4802 people are stupid is the rationale behind fascism making up religion while religion has been demonstrably existant for millenia before the concept of fascism let alone implementation?
Thank you for this. In thousands of years, when our civilization is all but unrecognizable, I hope someone finds this video and makes good use of it. I think there’s something worth listening to.
Blue you little cinnamon roll, I love your perspective on how we could look on the philosophical side of things instead of theological to come to a common ground. Keep it up👍
@Enetheru1999 Nobody is ignoring that the religions are incompatible, but simply pointing out that they do have many similarities, especially in ethics. They can find common ground in the fact that a society that has all of them can still function in peace, even though they disagree. Actually, religions are even closer to each other than political beliefs are, since it's easier to function daily with people that disagree with you about somewhat apstract things (such as creation of the universe) than with people that you disagree with about human rights, distribution of wealth etc.
Wow, these recent videos are extremely helpful! I'm making a comic book based on the philosophy of the Abrahamic religions, and these are give me a lot of aid.
@Quodlibeta Oh wow! Um, I have it on DA right now, and it's kinda coming out slowly. It's not the best artwork in the world, but I think the story is coming along alright. luvart2345.deviantart.com/ this is the link.

When Al Ghazalis titled his book “incoherence of the philosopher”, he didn’t take into account centuries later people will judge him purely on the title without reading a single page and having 0 context of the debate around his time.
I LOVE how well this is made! I especially love his neutral stance where he praises ALL of these religions! There is so much to learn from everyone around us! :)
this is one of my favorite videos i have seen of yours so far. thank you for being accurate as possible, and fair to all of the aspects of this big umbrella topic that i have been a part of most of my life.
Ah yes , the old "Al-Ghazali ended everything" myth. thanks Neil Tyson First of all Al-Ghazali's criticisms were mostly at Noeplatonic metaphysics, not at philoophy as a whole. Secondly, he was not like the supreme ruler of all Muslims, and there were many significant philosophers after him, like Mulla Sadra
Yeah the sack of Baghdad didn't help it either, however, al-ghazali had a lot of influence so he might not be the only reason but certainly one of them. IIRC ghazali's followers went ahead and were even more radical than he was.
I just want to say THANK YOU! Thank you so much for treating the Abrahamic religions with respect. I avoided watching this and your other videos on religion and the Crusades because I've run into *way* too much hate aimed at religion in general and Christianity in particular. College was not a fun time for me. Thank you, thank you, *thank you!* You *get it!* Faith and reason aren't diametrically opposed! Philosophy and science arose from religious thinkers. Yes, the crusades were a mess, putting it mildly. An occasionally well-intentioned mess, but still a *mess.* The Catholic Church may be founded and upheld by God, but it's still made up of humans. Messing up is what we do. Thank you for understanding that last part, even if you don't believe the first.
@The Caliphate What, Catholics have to be extra careful not to be jerks? Sorry, but jerk behavior isn't restricted to any one denomination or even one religion. We're also not the ones who've been protesting LGBT events with signs reading "God Hates You."
I tried posting some of your videos to groups I'd think would value the subject matter, but I got a complaint that you don't cite your sources and thus they can't verify the info and by extension don't trust your content. I assume its some college textbooks and secondary supporting history books, but the complaint I received would be forgiven for not thinking "probably some textbook" is a sufficient answer. How do you feel about the necessity of source citation in your videos?
I always enjoy your take on history, (even the touchy bits that some people get triggered over easily,) and the humor you add make me smile. Not killing each other is good table manners. 😉

I genuinely like how you tackle this issue and the biggest thing of a civil discussion between Christians, Jews and Muslims and getting to heart of what each is. I do have on slight thing to add about what you said of the Christian scholastics saying "heresy!!! God is not a mover He is a trinity!" I believe that to be underselling the magnitude of the theology of God in Christian teaching- correct He is Three- but Three are He. The Mystery of the Holy Trinity is consistent with that of Aristotle's early concept of a great Mover because of the clause that God is the Mover (one) yet is of Three. That would explain why Saint Thomas Aquinas and his contemporaries didn't refute the pagan thinker- but at essence the concept is in line with that of the Faith. A bit rudimentary but in fact, correct. Fun fact: for the Catholic Church, the feast of the Mystery of the Holy Trinity was yesterday.
@@PeterGregoryKelly Pretty sure they're calling it a "mystery" because how an entity can be 1 singular being and also 3 separate and distinct beings at the same time doesn't work in human logic and we have no way of reconciling that with our own experiences. Christians can say thats its true, and believe that its true, but it is impossible to comprehend *how* its true.
@@TheBossSapp If it is impossible to comprehend how it is true then you do not really know if it is true. If God behaves in ways consistent with the nature claimed for him, like the beautiful flowers and butterfly than of course that is what you expect from God. If you're talking about the bot fly larvae which burrows into the eye and through to the brain of a young child, or the typhoon which kills 3,000 people, then you roll out the "mystery of God". You glorify the good and mystify the evil so that what is observed in the world does not falsify the essential "goodness" of God.
1:30 Major problem with that: You can say that about any religion. The fact of the matter is that, in this day and age where most of the United State's population has NOT read from the bible, or any other religious teaching, allowing a lot of people to misquote and sometimes even fabricate what said teachings say. People love to take quotes from the bible about how horrible Christianity is, but for those who have not read it, that means nothing for today's standards because the same thing could be said for any number of other religious factions which people seemingly refuse to do. I mean, how many people in this comment section have actually read the bible, or any Muslim teachings? (Don't answer that, we'd be here all day). To me, it doesn't even matter what the bible said because most Christians nowadays don't follow the same religious teachings and the bible has since become one of the go-to guides for "why-you-suck" speeches which acts more as a personal attack rather than a proper argument. I see it as more important to look at what people are doing NOW rather than what they DID because otherwise we would be judging people for things that are entirely unrelated to them in the present day. We can't do anything about the Crusades and how horrible they were to both parties. We CAN stop terrorist organizations like ISIS, the KKK, and other prejudiced killers who attack people (I would say "based upon the color of their skin" but that is completely irrelevant. People are people, no matter what).

Good analysis of how plato and Aristotle impacted all three faiths, but little heavy handed on the “lets all get along.” But really, I cant blame you Blue. I loved the video.
This is an old video, but I love the notion of cultural dialogue and the benefit of cross-cultural discussion. I am an atheist but I can't deny the huge weight of thought that went into this era and anyone that wants to champion it.

It's sad that most Muslims today don't understand what Islam is about. The book itself tells you to be neutral about everyone regardless of whatever their nature is or what they are interested in (as long as they're reasonable anyway) Yet you still have people who ab*se, sometimes murder people who aren't religious. I'm Muslim, and I'm extremely ashamed.
I think uniting people through common ground on humanistic philosiphies would do the world SO much good in today's day and age! But that also doesn't mean we shouldn't critique religious doctrine and the uses by those who practice it, either. (Not that Blue was suggestion we shouldn't, I'm just making the point that "Being nice to good people" and "Criticizing religion" don't have to be mutually exclusive.)
Awesome video, some corrections though: - Augustine wasn´t properly "platonic" in the sense he interacted directly with Plato´s works, he didn´t read greek and his access to Platonistic philosophy came from commentators and biased interpretation from the neo-platonic school, greatest amongst these, Plotinus who had a HUGE influence over Augustine. That said, this isn´t to say Augustine was ignorant, he knew by heart many of the religious doctrine and philosophy of his day. - Also, the idea that philosophy and theology as independent of one another would only begin with Duns Scotus, before that, until and including Thomas Aquinas, Theology had prominence over Philosophy and the latter was seen as an accessory to the first. So you can´t really say there was a "religious philosophy" strictly speaking, only philosophical ideas inspired by religious doctrine and, most of it, subordinate to it. - Also Thomas Aquinas and most of the scholastics only knew Aristotle either by commentaries or rough translations of the originals to Latin, and translations of philosophical works are, at best, (very) well-informed guesswork, since the comprehension of many concepts (and hence their translation) depend on understanding the many layers of meaning of words in the original works, greek especially is extremely polysemic, that is, words can have a multitude of meanings that are to be understood through context. This means many of Thomas Aquinas ideas, as much of an incredible genius as he was (and boy, he was), was written from incomplete information of the Aristotelian Corpus.
Love your videos and love the message. I really do, but looking at the similarities you see that they are VERY surface level. Not that I think its impossible for the three to live in peace. But there are large differences, thats all I'm saying
Not that much diffrence but more so history. Christans wont forgive Muslims nor Muslims will forgive Christans. Much like how diffrent sects of a religon don't get along so well.
7:58 Yes, large parts of Aristotle were believed by Averroes, and gently, respectfully, corrected by Aquinas "you know, he was a Pagan and didn't know better".

7:21 St Thomas Aquinas indeed respected Maimonides and Averroes for competence, but he was against some of their ideas : both were "liberal theologians" - he, like Bishop Tempier, was not (though, Stephen II Tempier of Paris did suspect him of it, at times, one can imagine, since he was so into Aristotle).

You just did a better job of explaining this than an entire semester of a course in this exact subject did... Though to be fair to my professor, he was very fond of chasing the philosophy and language bunnies...I learned a lot, just not about THIS. As a small personal observation - I find a great deal of the conflict between Christians - er, Protestants that is - seems to spring from the pervading urge to "witness to" the non-believers. I don't know enough general "church" history to say if proselytizing was ALWAYS a big deal, but for the Methodist and Baptist sects of Protestantism, it's very nearly more central to their daily faith than the deity. I'm not trying to blast them, nor to hold them up as a good example, here: just relating what I've seen over and over (and over) through my forty-ish years of life. Folks are fine discussing the broad strokes, they get tense when the talk edges into theology as you said...but get into any kind of "this is how I personally interact with the ideas of my faith" and wham, respect goes out the window in the most alarming manner... And may I say, many months late - it makes me really happy to once again see the smartest people I've encountered in the world saying this kind of thing. Reason and compassion HAVE to win...eventually. Right?

Just a note (from a Muslim who grew up Catholic and is married to a Jew and loves Buddhism and practices an ostensively Daoist martial art that was beloved of Chinese Muslims) ((who works as a philosophical theologian)): 1) “theology” these days is generally defined in Tillichian terms as something like “the philosophical study of ultimacy.” 2) Islamic philosophy kept on a’truckin after Ibn Rushd (Averroes) died. Check out Suhravardi and the Ishraqiyyun, Mulla Sadra, philosophical Sufism rooted in Ibn ‘Arabi, philosophy among Muslims in India, etc. Peter Adamson’s podcast (History of Philosophy Without Any Gaps) has covered this extensively. 3) I love this channel. Preaching to the choir, blue ;) We're all interested in philosophy and history and tend to be pretty open minded. However, I disagree on the assumption that all three religions 'basically worship the same God and should thus get along' because I think the image the three religions have of their deity is radically different.
Reminds me of _The Adventures of Hucleberry Finn_ where Miss Watson and widow Douglas both tell the title character about Providence. As it turns out, the two interpretations differ to the point that he "could see that there was two Providences". "... and a poor chap would stand considerable show with the widow's Providence, but if Miss Watson's got him there warn't no help for him any more."
Catholic theologian here. This is an excellent survey of Medieval Abrahamic philosophy, and the distinction you've made between theology and philosophy is a worthwhile one. It seems like philosophy is a good starting point for interreligious dialogue among the Abrahamic religions. I think it's fantastic to see such an informed presentation unifying the Abrahamic religions, especially now when there is an awful lot of conflict. However, I would like to humbly disagree with your presentation of theology as just a source of conflict and bloodshed. Yes it is more contentious than philosophy as you have defined it, but there is still room for wide debates in philosophy, including religious philosophy. Religious philosophy tells us that we should be devoted to God. If this is the case, then it is our responsibility to learn what we can about God so that we are devoting ourselves rightly to God as He is. Theology is about interpreting revelation, that is what is revealed to us about God, either through scripture, tradition (this one is mostly a Catholic component based on the theory that the Holy Spirit has guided the Church's theology through history), and finally nature. I wholeheartedly agree with you that theology is for believers and isn't as useful for interreligious dialogue, but theology is still important. It is another tool for explaining reality, and so it is worthwhile for someone who believes in the existence of God to study theology. That's basically it. I liked a lot of what you did here, but wanted to leave something to reassure people that theology isn't a waste of time and isn't just something that causes conflict needlessly.
As someone who has studied Religion and Philosophy. I have to say Augustine the one I would go back in time and hit over the side the with lead pipe. You can really blame him fro the idea of a sinful body and holy soul/spirit becoming so popular in Western Christianity. Al Ghazali and Moses were awesome to learn about in my Religious Philosophy class in college.
The most thin that devides the 3 abrahamic is jesus Judaism : they completely reject him Christianity : he is the Messiah and the son of god and God ( don't ask me how it works ) , and that he was crucified . Islam : he is the Messiah and messenger of God , not god or son of God , he wasn't crucified or killed because in Islam they don't believe that God dies or in the original sin .
@@DsgSleazy we believe he was saved by the mercy of God and his prayers were answered. And Judas was given the image of jesus and was crucified in his place. Jesus the son of mary will then return to kill the anti christ on Gods orders
Now Christian theologians and philosophers either become mad men from either seeing too much or understand too much or something more horrifyingly indescribable Or they went full "fuck it, let's do apologetic"
I question whether the three religions follow the same God. Muslims say that Jesus was a prophet and not God, and Christians claim Jesus is the Messiah, and therefore God, and Jews are still waiting for the Messiah, thus invalidating Jesus as God, and turning him into a heretic, and not a prophet as the Muslims would say. Also, Allah telling Muslims to slay the infidels is contrary to Jesus' teaching of love your enemy. So while yes, they do share similar roots, the three are fundementally different. Judaism is waiting and laws, Christianity is loving, and Islam literally translates to submission. And yes, there are exceptions, but in their most basic form, waiting, loving, or submission are the primary differences in spirit of the three religions.
Except, you know, that's not the case. Those acts were done in self defense and the Koran says that Allah doesn't tolerate aggressors and that you should shelter non-Muslims and see them to safety.
hiimme101 based on that I'd say christianity is the outlier since god is incredibly violent in the old testament ordering the complete destruction of cities and their peoples without mercy.
Reg Eric if we gotta be honest, all religious texts spout violence on one end and peace and love on the other. I’ve seen things just as bad in the Bible as I’ve seen in the Quran, all with God destroying whole civilizations and allowing what basically is a genocide of the Phillistines. At the end of the day, these were books made thousands of years ago in a time wholly different than our own so what you got to do is adapt your faith with the times you live in. If I lived off the Testament like one who lived when it was written, I’d probably not bat an eye at massacres against the infidels and sacrifice them because it’s gods will :)
I think it's time to make videos on the Islamic Golden Age (instead of it being relegated synoptic references within videos of tangential thematology) and also the Mongols. And, of course, Aristotle.
Don't murder people is basic table manners? That reminds me of a story that the king of France invented the table knife by banning pointed knives at his table to curtail fights.

Hi there, I have a constructive suggestion for your videos. If you want to show text in the videos this needs to either match the spoken dialog of the narrator or simply be reserved for use in videos with no vocal narration at all. If you throw a load of text up on screen while saying something completely different over the top then it just ends up with people not being able to properly follow either element.
All right, ended up here because of Shadversity and I have to say am enjoying myself. Wasn't sure what to expect going into this but, I can respect the way things are being presented here, because I am of a similar mindset even though I am Christian, I am not exactly stereotypical or traditional. Because how can we truly believe everything we are told when its spent so many years being translated from one language into another, how much has changed? So instead of being so thick minded that I accept everything thing as rock solid proof, I will test it and debate it and find a road less traveled on this journey called life and at the crossroads into whatever comes after only then will we know for certain what comes after. So instead of falling into a well worn rut I try to keep an open mind and if someone feels so enraged by my beliefs that they can't have a decent and respective conversation, than I'm just going to leave. Thank you for reading and may we all learn to live with each other one day.
I can't remember the last time someone used, "But the bible said," as an argument, other than to connect it to the negative or positive consequences of actions. Theology and religious philosophy should overlap plenty, in any reasonable discussion. But... if you mean summarize a religion to fit your political goals, that's not discussion or teaching. That's propaganda. The USSR also preached similar values to those which you say define these religions... so is it the same? There is no intellectual point to saying all fish are the same creature. You go on to vaguely reference some works that reportedly "reconciled" these faiths but never get into the details... making this about as useful as if you just told us to go and read their works in ten seconds. It culminates in preaching your own religion. One so vague you can largely do what you want, but show off this religion as a means to appear moral and sane, despite personal actions. And no, I see people "reconcile" everything with everything, it's all too easy. Simple half-truths and cherry-picking is something a monkey can do.
Abraham exiled his slave woman Hagar and his son Ishmael, because Sera thought it was best. Does that sound like a milk-sop who wants everyone to get along and ignore differences? That is someone who acted on differences between two nations.
@@hanssmirnov9946 Yes, Abraham himself may not be the pinnacle of inclusivity, and his story at least in part serves as an explanation of existing differences between peoples. But believing in the God of Abraham means to realize that the same God Abraham and Sara believed in also accompanied Hagar into the wilderness (אל רואי, "the God that sees me"). Humans may not be able to reconcile their differences sometimes, but that doesn't necessarily mean that God has to pick a side.
As a Christian, I'll take a wack at explaining the trinity: So we have the Lord, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. If we take a look into how each of the trinity behave, and their respective titles, then we get the following the Lord is the Father, Jesus Christ, among his many titles, is the Word, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit is the great Helper. Now, lets break down these titles a bit more, a father knows what needs to be done, and commands the son to do things as well. So, the Father tells the Son what needs to be done, and the Son does it. Now the Holy Spirit being the Helper, watches over the activity, and helps were is needed. Forgive me if this is a bit of a leap, but we can take a human being and break them down into three basic parts: mind, body, and soul. The mind knows what needs to be done, so commands the body to do it. The soul watches over the tasks being done, and helps the mind and body to do what is right. In essence, the Lord can be equated to the mind, the Son equated to the body, and the Holy Spirit equated to the soul. Thus each is distinct, but part of a whole. So the Lord refers to this whole, and can be used to refer to a distinct part of the whole, sort of like referring to someone's mind, you are still referring to that person, who's mind is a apart of that whole.

@@kellysunserenity4068 philosophical debate won't retake the Holy Land

Isn't that tragic?"
Edit: I found the passage; it's the Gospel of John, Chapter 4, if anyone was interested.

"Mystery" means "not even known to be true". If the Holy Trinity was a thing it wouldn't be a "mystery".

Major problem with that: You can say that about any religion.
People are people, no matter what).
the fast answer is: all religious teachings are hypocritical, because humans are hypocritical beings and religion is a human invention.
@@simon8242 Do it fast or do it right fam, pretending to believe in ideals and values when you don't is hypocritical and fake. Actually believing in those values but admitting that you can fail to live up to them is being human. "Religion is a human invention" is a non-sequitur.

(Not that Blue was suggestion we shouldn't, I'm just making the point that "Being nice to good people" and "Criticizing religion" don't have to be mutually exclusive.)
We need more ponies tho.
Awesome video, some corrections though:
- Augustine wasn´t properly "platonic" in the sense he interacted directly with Plato´s works, he didn´t read greek and his access to Platonistic philosophy came from commentators and biased interpretation from the neo-platonic school, greatest amongst these, Plotinus who had a HUGE influence over Augustine.

Right?

WHERE IS JOURNEY TO THE WEST PART 5
yes
its here.
I like the age of empires music in the background there. This was interesting to listen to and informative, thank you.
The most thin that devides the 3 abrahamic is jesus
Judaism : they completely reject him
Christianity : he is the Messiah and the son of god and God ( don't ask me how it works ) , and that he was crucified .
Islam : he is the Messiah and messenger of God , not god or son of God , he wasn't crucified or killed because in Islam they don't believe that God dies or in the original sin .
Why wouldn't he be crucified though if they don't believe he's God? I don't understand that.
@@DsgSleazy we believe he was saved by the mercy of God and his prayers were answered. And Judas was given the image of jesus and was crucified in his place. Jesus the son of mary will then return to kill the anti christ on Gods orders
@@abdirahmanidris290 I find it so interesting how our two faiths are directly related but interpreted differently, God/Allah's word is great🙌🏿.
Great videos. I really respect this channel.
Now Christian theologians and philosophers either become mad men from either seeing too much or understand too much or something more horrifyingly indescribable
Or they went full "fuck it, let's do apologetic"
The AoM soundtrack was quite fitting and amazing.
Oh my man Maimonides...I live in a street named after him :)
"...need I remind everyone that all three religions worshipped the same God that Abraham did." A statement that is so true that is often overlooked. 😅
Judaism: Law and Order
Christianity: Love and Peace
Islam: War and Submission
Except, you know, that's not the case. Those acts were done in self defense and the Koran says that Allah doesn't tolerate aggressors and that you should shelter non-Muslims and see them to safety.
hiimme101 based on that I'd say christianity is the outlier since god is incredibly violent in the old testament ordering the complete destruction of cities and their peoples without mercy.
Islam means submission to god, and can you please show me where it says slay the infidels, ive seen worst in the bible.
This is your best video really. I hope we can learn some lessons today.
I think it's time to make videos on the Islamic Golden Age (instead of it being relegated synoptic references within videos of tangential thematology) and also the Mongols.
And, of course, Aristotle.
I would like to cast 6 votes for the Mongols.
Elouj Time Reaver ill cast a few votes for videos on the Mongols. I'd love to learn more about them.
No one conquers Russia unless u are.....the Mongols.
Don't murder people is basic table manners? That reminds me of a story that the king of France invented the table knife by banning pointed knives at his table to curtail fights.
Hey red can u do some more on Egypt the last one was awesome
Blue can you do the war of the roses I think even red would like it (hopefully)
You Forgot to Treat Animals and Plants like Human too. I'm a Muslim and I've learn a lot of this.
9:05 c. "all three religions worship the same God Abraham did" - or claim to do so, like Calvinists and Catholics both claim to worship Christ like St Peter did.
you sure you're not talking about Paul?
@@1ma4ighter Catholics and Calvinists both claim, rightly, that St. Peter and St. Paul both worshipped Christ.
The problem is, they don't do so the same way with each other, still, they both claim to do so the same way as Peter.
Just so Muslims and Jews and Christians don't have either same worship or same beliefs, but all claim to worship the God Abraham worshipped.
The guys who would pretend worship of Jesus began with St. Paul are first found to my knowledge within a school of Muslim exegesis, one of the explanations why Christianity - according to them - "is no longer the right Ummah".
No Christian worships Christ.
Wtf?
Any person person who worships Christ is only destined for one thing.
@@nwoudochiobinna3673 If you do not accept Christ is true God and true Man, you are not a Christian.
@@hglundahl The only non Christian here is you man....
How the hell do you worship Christ as God?, what's wrong with you?
Taking away Gods glory and giving it to another is blasphemy...even Jesus acknowledged this.
Jesus isn't God....never was.
Glory should be given to God, not the lamb of God
thank you for trying to bring a little bit of peace and commonsense to the world we shouldn't hate or even dislike someone just because of religious defenses we should try to find common ground respect one another and be friends although if everyone actual lived the whole love thy neighbor thing there would be world peace
Why are you leaving out all the non-Abrahamic religions?
Alverant Because they don’t have the same shared origin and philosophy

Those 3 videos were incredible!

Alivia Turner NOTIFICATION SQUAD!
This has been the most interesting series yet
Now how about Sikh philosophy.
its very similar to the philosophy of assassins creed
Christian philosophy was more inclined toward Aristotle not plato. Especially Augustin, Aquinas
Fascinating and fun! I think your message here is nice.
As a Christian, I'll take a wack at explaining the trinity:
So we have the Lord, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
Boy, you sure wasted a lot of time trying to explain something that's obviously complete nonsense.
Groupthink, I learned about that in my psychology class! I'm just happy to hear smthg I'm learning in use :)
