Sarah, you are the best teacher!!! You got me through the pandemic with my new Bernina between your UA-cams and Sewing Mastery site. This one will help me narrow down some hemmer choices a little, lol! (Found you first on Craftsy). Thanks so much for all you do!
@YoBootyStinks Yes, this works for some people. Me...I could never get it to work. When I teach classes using this foot and this technique, everyone is successful their very first time! Happy sewing. We are doing foot of the moth videos all year!
Saw the bernina video and I thought wow my mom's been doing it wrong all this while? Then I come here and you use the same 'start' technique of rolling the hem up befire feeding and majority are saying finally a method that works. So mom was right all along. Never had an issue hemming with this method. Thank you for the video.
Wow, what a great video! Helped me decide which foot to try first, and tips are clear so hopefully I’ll be able to execute with a little practice. Thank you!
Thank you soon much! I tried to follow the Bernina video... which looked so easy, and was so frustrated, but then I found your channel and it helped me hem a formal dress flawlessly. Thank you!!!
Tamara Jones, remember you can ask your Bernina Dealer for help on a presser foot you bought from them. At least we do that, we try to make sure our customers understand how to use it so they are not frustrated with their purchase.
Thank you so very much for this video!! Was about ready to throw my machine out the window out of frustration! Your instructions (especially how to keep the fabric feeding in properly) were spot on!
By the way, I just also ordered from my local Bernina authorized store, hemmer feet # 0, # 1, and # 5 which are the only things I may need for a foreseeable future. Anyhow, thanks for your prompt responses.
Bernina hemmer feet are available for all Bernina models old and new. Please contact your local Bernina dealer with your Bernina model number and they will assist with getting you the correct version of these feet for your machine. If you have any questions, we would be happy to help.
Your tutorial is very helpful! I received this foot for Christmas and found the instructions on the package insert that came with the foot to be very inadequate. I want to use this foot for lightweight, silky fabrics so if you have any additional tips on how to maximize success for fabrics that have a lot of 'slip', please share. Thank you!
I dont have hemmer feet with my machine bernina. I bought new but it is not fixes can u please explain how to fix new one that is not come with machine. Is there any other way to fix it
It seems all the videos show straight seems. How about when trying to hem a finished garment, how do you handle the side seams that one has to hem over?
I have #62 (2mm) and can't get this thing to work using the method Bernina International shows on their website. I'll give this method a try, you gave some awesome pointers they didn't mention. Is #62 suitable for quilter's cotton, or would #64 (4mm) be better?
Hi Kate, If I had to pick between Foot #62 and #64 I would pick #64 for quilters cotton. Foot #63 is my favorite for cotton fabric. It finishes at 3mm. Hope this helps. ~Sara~
Can these presser feet be used with any Bernina, case in point my Bernina 1008 model? Can the plate you show be used with my Bernina 1008 model? Thanks.
Yes you can get hemmer feet for the older Bernina machines. Just make sure they come in a red box and have black lettering on the foot instead of the white box with the red lettering. Your local Bernina dealer can get them for you if they do not have them in stock.
Thank you. OK, one more or so questions. Are genuine Bernina accessories expensive? I ask this because today I went to a Bernina authorized store in my area, and I ended up paying $84.00 USD for a Bernina bobbin case, and I am now wondering if I was had.
Very curvy edges can be a challenge. The only tip is to be sure to stay-stitch the edge before using the hemmer foot. If they are too curvy the foot will not be your best choice. ~Sara~
Thank you SO much for detail and hints. I have watched the Bernina tutorial a thousand times. I only had to watch your video twice!

Same here!
Hi - Yes, it can be difficult to get through seams. I have been known to press open the seams and then trim a little of the seam allowance away.

Very informative, answered a lot of my questions.😊
Very informative, now that I have seen the video, I will give that foot a try, otherwise I don't think I would have even thought to do so.
I was taught to stitch the edge of fabric once and use the thread to pull the fabric thru to start. It's actually just as effective....
And it works like a little stay stitch also
I've tried every method to get my hemmer feet to work with no success...you're method is so great! Thanks!!!!!!!
You are welcome. Share with your friends! ~Sara~
@grace2548 Yes, all Bernina feet will fit the Bernina 330. :)

All classic Bernina feet fit the Bernina 440.
@HeirloomCreations Great! It's always good to have more than on technique. I look forward to watching the other videos too! :)
Brilliant tutorial. Thank you.
Great - give it time to get the right technique. Don't give up. :)

9 hours of messing with foot #66 and it's going back to the Bernina shop. Nothing should be this difficult. Taking all the fun out of sewing.

orestesdd Yes genuine Bernina parts are more expensive and use better materials. That is a good price for a bobbin case.
SewingMastery.com Thanks. I thought I was paying too much.
HeirloomCreations Thanks. I thought I was paying to much, but I bought it anyway.
Man this is going to take a lot of practice, it kind of operates the opposite of how you think it would as far as keeping the fabric feeding in.
Really need instructions on how to do this on very curvy edges please. I'm pulling my hair out! :(
