Thanks for sharing your idea. I've heard that Flex Tape does not hold up well over time. A lot of videos showed people using it to patch holes in vinyl pool floating devices only to have it fail shortly afterwards. A better and more permanent solution is to buy some HH66 vinyl cement (at least 32 ounces) and some marine grade vinyl. I used it on my cover and it held tenanciously for years! I have to do it again only because the vinyl ripped when the cover blew off of the hot tub during a hurricane. (The glue did not come apart). By the way, you do not need to use the HH66 brand vinyl - marine vinyl is less expensive and works great! Good luck!
Keep us posted on how it holds up. Flex Tape is something we use all over our house, but I had no idea they made a version that wide AND in clear!! Thanks for the info.
It is holding but the sun has really faded and cracked the outside layer. I think this winter it will need to be redone or will need to buy another cover.

So far it is holding really well and shows no signs of not working. We will see when it starts snowing!
It is still holding???? My hot tub cover just broke in two pieces. But I live in a cold climate. Wondering how long it worked?

Make sure you put lots of dents in the foam with your knees.

I fold it over the bar of the easy lift. You can see it up in the air at the back of the hot tub.
Hey, how did the Flex Tape hold up?
Went to put the cover back on tonight after a nice relaxing time in the tub and it fell apart. I think I need to buy a new cover.
