    This is so great. Thank you for making a point to explain how the fabric should be oriented and placed. You are a great teacher.

    I absolutely love how simple this is. I can already see embroidery or htv on the front to personalize them!!

      I agree! Not sure if you have access to IG but you can see the personalization I did on some using HTV. Check out those denim covers. (@sewnbynikki). I love it them!

    Hi Nikki! Loved your tutorial, you explained it so well and took the time to show how to make a beautiful, quality project, if only my book were that size!!!! Would have been over the moon and my search would have ended here if you had...(my books are very small)

    • @SewnByNikki
      @SewnByNikki  Рік тому

      Thank you for watching! You can alter the size of the fabric. Just add on several inches to the size of your book. The project will come together in the same way. You can do this!!

    Ps.... you can also add a small pocket inside your cover for pens too as well as if you wanted to add a button closure ( like you would have with a takeaway coffee cup... cheers Nikki :)

      I did add that in my initial video but edited it out because I had already sewn the flaps on and would not have been able to explain it clearly to viewers. ;)

    I made a book cover for a mates baby plunket book. Its ended up as a good wee earner. She has got me about 40 orders and I sell each one for $15. And once cut them out only take about 10 to 15 minutes for each one. I just did a plain and basic cover. But want to make some with a lot of detail etc.

      Good job! Yes, it is a great seller where you can make a good profit. One of the easiest to cut and sew. Have fun with this!

    What are the measurements

  • @melindaludwick5428

    I'm a beginner sewer this is a great project for me. Question how would I adjust the size for a larger or smaller book??

    • @SewnByNikki
      @SewnByNikki  2 роки тому +3

      You can open your book and lay it flat so the spine touches the table. Add 1" to whatever measurements you get when you measure width wise. That is how I did this. Also, for the height, I added 1/2" to top and bottom. Adding additional space to the width allows for a thicker book to be placed inside and close snug.

    What are the measurements of the fabric? Ready to cut, no idea how to cut

  • @ruthwatts7718

    I wouldn't start my top stitching on front cover.

    • @SewnByNikki
      @SewnByNikki  Рік тому +1

      You don't have to. Everyone has their preference. I prefer to because the stitches look good and if the bobbin gets wonky, it is not on my top fabric. I don't ever top stitch from underneath.............
