That's not entirely fair. It is still a standard that specifies the general alignment of magnets, to ensure the compatibility with the whole range of accessories.
The same thing happened with fingerprint scanner.

I have an S20 FE with the Spigen Tough Armor case and it’s been awesome! Fits like a glove and it adds clicky buttons which I love. It’s great!

My perfect combo for protecting my 7Pro is Ghostek's Silver Atomic Slim accompanied by Rhinoshield's Impact Flex screen protector. The Atomic Slim has a clear back with TPU cover reinforced with silver aluminum. Looks awesome & has a drop rating of 12 feet. Edges are rolled & raised, camera edges raised & there's a 5g antenna cutout. Rhinoshield's Impact Flex is hands down the best screen protector ever. The hammer test is for real. My setup is topped off with a Slickwraps skin which also protects the camera's polished metal & Ringke's Camera Glass, which individually covers each camera lens with round & oval lenses. My 2nd choice would simply be a Poetic Guardian for full protection. None of this I mentioned is budget friendly, but when we're talking about protecting an $800 device who cares.

I have both the Ringke Fusion in clear matte as well as what I'm using now the smoke matte. Looks great with the Hazel 7 Pro. My biggest concert was protecting the camera bar and the Fusion Ringke case is one of the few I've seen that almost fully covers it.

I am rocking the Dbrand case. Had one on my pixel 5, 6 pro, and now 7 pro and I love them. It has been my favorite case for my phone.
I'm using the Caseology Athletix case. I really like Caseology cases and their gripiness. When spending nearly a grand for a phone the last thing I want is for the phone to slip out of my hand and crack the glass, which is why I tend to purchase grippy cases.

How are the Magsafe magnets in the Mous case? Have heard that the magnets are not as strong as the Peak Design case.

You are forgetting the: Spigen Tough Armor Backcover. It has a small stand built-in, very handy!
Currently using a tech21 case on a pixel 5, it's saved it a few times lucky for me. Used a mous case on my previous pixel 4, both doing the job fine and dandy.
I have the tudia case and the spigen rugged armor case. I've also put a magsafe magnet on both cases so I can use my moment car mount
I have bought many cases for my Pixel 7 Pro, Spigen, Official Google and others, all disappointing with regards to GRIP! Yes, I'd like the phone to look good, but I need to be able to hold it without micro concentration. The bevelled edges combined with gesture features, make it a difficult device to protect on the edges, so it's imperative I don't drop it in the first place. The Ringke is finally what I settled with, the smoked and frosted version. They are the only cases that I have felt confident for everyday use with the pixel pro 7. Cheaper they may be(maybe just accurately priced) but they are really effective, maintain all functions, without hiding the visual aspect of the phone...
The Athlex is probably my favorite case of all time, love how it feels in the hand.
I bought the one made by Google. Hazel color one. The 29.99 one. Looks great and the G on the case is a nice touch.
Rocking the Zagg Denali on my 7. Solid hard case with texture and I think it looks cool in grey... More like a bone white
I e used Spigen cases for the last 6 phones or so. The low cost but added grip and protection is solid for me. I would like to try a dbrand case tho.

FNTCase from Amazon for 7pro with full camera protection 14.99 and really works well 2 piece and my go to.
I like my OtterBox Defender Pro because I like using a holster and I trust that if my phone falls that it will not be damaged.
You should do a video on Pixel 7 Pro Screen Guards-as they are harder to come by-i mean the good ones- eitherway loved the video-thanks.

Bought a chinese Kevlar case. Very thin and light, and great in the hand, and looks awesome. Not very cheap though. Had one similar from Pitaka on my iPhone for over 2 years, looks brandnew.
Is the peak design case compatible with Anker 521 and similar batteries?
Rhinoshield make the best cases, but unfortunately they are not making a carbon fibre version for the Pixel 7 Pro. Which is a shame because they did one for the Pixel 6 pro and it was great!
Ghostek has the 5G antenna cutout as well. Lip all around the front with extra bump coverage at the corners.
Googles cases are cool. But I do wish they would bring back the fabric cases
I have also had great results in the past with dbrand cases which, besides offering great protection, but also offers "skins" that make the case unique to your preferences including a real leather option. A little pricey but quite nice.
No cover with the back standing support ?
I've had a few but the Peak Design one is head and shoulders above the others for me. It adds minimal bulk, feels premium, and having magsafe is excellent. The Mous one feels a bit rough in the hand and is too bulky for my liking, but I'm sure it's great for the protection. The Spigen one is the one I've had on all my previous Pixels and it's a superb lower-cost option if you're not bothered about magsafe.

@@swimdude1120 great on both tbh. I use a magnetic charging stand and magnetic power bank and neither slipped off either case.
I returned the Mous case as it's just not to my liking but I'm sure others will love it.
I should clarify I have the regular Pixel 7 and not the pro, but I'd assume the cases and no different in quality.
I like tech 21 clear cases. They're thin, clear and reinforced at the corners. They're pricey for what most people spend on cases, but it's a beautiful design that I trust to protect my phone.

Which one of those have the tallest raised lips on the phone sides? I wanna do without an additional protective glass but still make sure the screen is protected. I don't know why most cases have only top and bottom raised lips.
That is because Pixel 7 Pro have side edges with a sligt curvature known as a 2.5D.
Then your phone have that 2.5D (or more) display your gesture control are very effected, just by a little bit of "lips"

I'm here because my brand new Google pixel 7 pro dropped and broke. Not a horrible drop but since there was no protection due to raised lips on the sides, that was were the pixel landed and broke on both sides. So I really recommend going for full protection on all edges.
I got the Bellroy in Blue Daze for my P7p, a little pricey but it looks and feels absolutely amazing. Not to mention, the best support I've ever dealt with.
I used to use Spigen only, but their deicison to use that spider web pattern instead of some micro fibre pretty much puts little dots all over my gloss glass back phones over time and it's ugly.
I got a bellroy as well and damn does it look and feel good.

I helped my partner upgrade their 6 to a 7 and got them a black belroy case and I gotta say, I'm envious. Their phone feels so nice to hold.
A small correction. The Mous case is the new Limitless 5.0, not 3.0, so it's fully compatible with MagSafe.
Saw people on the Reddit sub complaining about the weakness of the magnets. Can anyone confirm?
@@Andorski from reviews online, it seems they're on the weaker side. Technically Tee shows how strong they are when he reviewed the Limitless 5 case.

I want to see the original colour snow of my pixel, so it will be a transparent one from Ringke Fusion, that also covers the rest of the camera bar and only leaves the camera holes. open. I just saw, that you mention it versus the end.
I have the exact same one but get the matte one so it's less greasy.
I cannot find a single open-backed case for the pixel 7 pro. I would usually get a bellroy leather case, but the pixel 7 pro belroy leather case is not in fact leather. It doesn't feel the same or look the same. So I bought a d brand real leather skin that has the look the feel and the smell that I want. Only problem is there is no open back case that I can find to go with it. Looking for a bumper case that basically just goes around the entire bezels of the phone. This type of thing used to it yet exist. I don't know why it went away.
My Pixel 7pro is packed into a clear Case Made by Spigen plus ive coverd the Back of the Phone with a cool Vinyl by dbrand (thus the clear Case...). Love it so far but the 1st Case Looks good too!

I got a spigen tough case and love it and even though it says you cant wireless charge it i can do it on my 2022 hyundia tucson without issue.
I have several different cases for my pixel 7 pro. I have a Caseology parallax, peak design everyday case, casetify impact case, ghostek atomic slim, ghostek covert and an incoming latercase. What can I say, I like variety.
How's the peak design case if I might ask ?
@@hirdaypal4418 I really like it. It's comfortable and very slim. My only concern is that on the camera portion that it might be too flush. There doesn't seem to be much camera protection on the eye test regarding a camera bump. I'm sure there is, but it isn't much.
Ohh got it, it looks very distinctive and cool though and that mag safe wallet looks eye catching.

Bellroy Leather Case ?
I've had the Mous case for about a week and aside from the very good magsafe, it's an otherwise poor case. The material becomes slippery very fast once you get some skin oils on it. The buttons are flush and not textured at all making them extremely difficult to press without looking at them. The cutout for the camera has a decent gap above and below the visor that just collects dirt like a magnet and requires the removal of the case to clean.
Mous has also disabled the ability to leave reviews on their website which was confirmed by them when I emailed them about not being able to leave a review. I also requested to return my case, but was just given a 50% refund. This seems pretty shady to me and I will definitely never buy another product from them.
Currently waiting on my Peak Design and RhinoShield case to arrive. 😁

@@haziri5118 The corners (barely) keep the screen from touching when face down. As far as dropping goes, I've only dropped my phone a couple times in the past few years. Never had anything but a screen break.
Is there a case that covers the screen from all four sides ? I mean lip on all four sides.

I agree with your feel comment and I'll double down with the looks... But those cases are purely for aesthetics, they do not protect your phone at all except for maybe the back glass (for scratches). I have the TUDIA case mentioned in this vidoe for protection and for the 5mm wave cut out.

I got a Bellroy case for Christmas... Mega expensive and has started to fall apart after only a month, the slippery company is refusing to honour their warranty as it was a gift, so I cannot prove proof of purchase. Slippery and shoddy workmanship, thinking I'll jump back to Spigen.
I always go with the Otterbox Defender series. I haven't seen many cases that protect phones as well as they do. It has a lip in all four directions for the front screen which is reassuring for the P7P curve screen. I checked out other cases and most offer a lip only on the top and bottom. The negative is that Otterbox Defenders are expensive and bulkier than other cases. When I had my P6P drop onto a marble floor facedown from 5 ft and came out unscathed, I was sold on their reliability.
Zagg denali and Havana are better. D3o technology makes them very good at protecting your phone from drops. They claim 16 feet with the Denali, and 12 feet drop with the Havana. They look nice too.
Looking for a case for the pixel 7 pro with the following features

1. Side edges should come above the screen for better protection. I don't understand why they don't get rid of the curved screens honestly.

I've never been more satisfied with a case, than I am with the D Brand Grip case that I've had on my pixel 6 Pro for the majority of the time I've had the phone.
Where is there a Belroy leather case?? Most of these cases are mid.
UB Pro by Supcase is the better and more affordable option instead of using Otterbox.

I just picked one up for my 7 Pro on hazel. I like the color and the fit is good. A bit slippery though.

Very nice review. My only critique would be that you utilize chyron during your reviews to identify the cases to which you are referring. It’s easier to look up the cases you’re recommending if you know the correct spelling of the product. Hearing you say the name of the product isn’t nearly as effective or useful as actually seeing the name on the screen. Just makes the video more consumer friendly. Other than that suggestion, great job! Keep up the good work!
Otterbox is the best if you don't mind it being a little difficult to slide into your pocket. It also comes with a cool belt holster if you want to play cowboy.

Hey Rob, thanks for the feedback. We often have chapters in videos. Mostly manually added to the description, but sometimes YT auto generates (it should have here). We'll look into this and make sure that it's working correctly - or just add manually like we have for a while.

Nilkin case with sliding camera lens cover is the best case for pixel.
Only Bellroy is allowed to hug my pixels. Tight and luxurious both visually and by feel. None of that plastic crap - especially the big ugly juvenile ones (otterbox- types) yuck.
How is it holding up 11 months in? I want to buy a new one and am considering buying a Bellroy but am not sure if it provides enough protection and if it lasts long.
That liquid air case makes your pixel look cheap and super generic. Not to mention those speigen prices are outrageous for a cheap piece of plastic

None of these videos/reviews cover one very important aspect. Pixels are prone to over heating, very badly, especially when using the phone as a GPS/Satnav , particularly when charging and frankly unless your going to be local, who the hell is using it as a Satnav and not changing it while it's eating power at that level? Please guys, include this line of thou go ht next time you are reviewing, first it over hear in the case, in a sunny car windscreen why trying to find you way around. The lovely may habit of going into dark mode mid journey due to heat is almost impossible to see where the hell you're going.
