Just recently came across your channel and it's a refreshing take on the Zettelkasten Method. I love the down to earth approach. Thank you for sharing

@@KathleenSpracklen I'm still getting started and will use your Comprehensive Guide this weekend. The video here though, makes an excellent primer.

I used to read tech books like fiction books: start on first page and end on last page. Now I grok the index and headers first and then reading linear helps in hooking details on to my understanding of the structural org of the book. Thanks Kathleen for sharing this video. Very useful

Thank you, Shirish. I like your description of hooking details onto the structure. I believe that's one of the advantages of pre-reading that I did not bring out in my video, so thank you for that, too.

Thank you, Ashutosh, but I should say that I learned it from Mortimer Adler in his book: How to Read a Book.

I notice you put sticky markers into the book... Two questions.
    A) Does this not take too much effort/time for an inspectional read a la Adler?
    B) What is the purpose of the sticky markers?
    Warm regards,
    Mr. Hoorn -- Fellow Antinetter

Hello Mr. Hoorn, How great to have a fellow Antinetter. Thank you for your kind greeting. I used the sticky notes because I wanted to be able to show you certain pages that caught my interest when I was pre-reading. After recording my podcast I took them all out. I should have mentioned that. Thank you for pointing that out.
