On October 17th, we, in partnership with local Indonesian shipyard, successfully completed both dock and sea trials for our newly built Mitsubishi Engine 2060hp tugboat with Weichai Power Co., Ltd generators, marking a crucial step in its pre-delivery testing phase within 6 months from keel laying to delivery.
▪ What is a Dock Trial?
During a dock trial, the tugboat’s machinery, systems, and equipment are tested. This process involves a thorough check of engines, generators, electrical systems, navigational instruments, pumps, steering gear, and other critical components to ensure they function as intended.
▪ Why Conduct a Dock Trial?
Verification of equipment functionality: Ensures that all onboard equipment operates as designed, allowing any issues to be identified and corrected prior to departure.
▪ Safety Assurance: Confirms that safety systems (e.g., fire alarms, bilge pumps, emergency shut-offs) are fully functional, reducing risk during the sea trial.
▪ Regulatory Compliance: Verifies that the tugboat meets required regulatory standards, such as those set by BKI (Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia) and other relevant authorities.
