IT WAS DECLARED AN ARCDDIOCESAN SHRINE IN 2008 BY HIS EXCELLENCY RAMON C. ARGUELLES, DD ARCHBISHOP OF LIPA
LOTS OF PILGRIMS COME AND VISIT THIS PLACE TO PRAY, TO THANK GOD AND TO SEEK THE INTERCESSION THROUGH SAINT PADRE PIO.
Padre Pio, also known as Saint Pio of Pietrelcina (Italian: Pio da Pietrelcina; 25 May 1887 - 23 September 1968), was an Italian friar, priest, stigmatist and mystic,[1] now venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church. Born Francesco Forgione, he was given the name of Pius (Italian: Pio) when he joined the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin.
Padre Pio became famous for exhibiting stigmata for most of his life, thereby generating much interest and controversy. He was both beatified (1999) and canonized (2002) by Pope John Paul II.[2]
The Sanctuary of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina is located in San Giovanni Rotondo, Province of Foggia, Italy.
The National Shrine and Parish of Saint Padre Pio[1] (Filipino: Pambansang Dambana at Parokya ni Santo Padre Pio), commonly known as Padre Pio Shrine, is a parish church and pilgrimage site situated at Brgy. San Pedro in Santo Tomas, Batangas Philippines. It is consecrated to the Italian Saint Pio of Pietrelcina.
Administered by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lipa, the church was designated as a National Shrine by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines making it the first in the province of Batangas and in the Calabarzon region. It became one of the venues for the 4th World Apostolic Congress of Mercy held in the Philippines on 16-20 January 2017.[2]

Sakay po kayong Lucena na bus tanong nyo po kung dadaan ng Sto Tomas palengke . Pag dadaan po mag pababa kayo sa Sto Tomas palengke tapos sakay kayo ng San pablo na jeep , tapos mag pa baba po kayo ng San Pedro po sabihin nyo ibaba kayo sa kanto ng Padre Pio , pag ka baba nyo may paradahan doon ng tricycle sakay po kayo tapos ihayatid na kayo nun sa Padre Pio Shrine . Sakay po kayo ng bus ng lucena, tpos sabihin nyo kanto ng San Pedro papunta padre pio,
sakay ho kayo ng biyaheng Lucena/San Pablo o kahit anong bus byaheng Bicol. Sabihin nyo lang po San Pedro o Padre Pio ang Landmark po eh ung Jollibee sa kaliwa. tpos sakay kayo trckel papasok.alam na ng drver po un.

I have been to San Pio in Libis and where you will see his original body at the San Giovanni Ritondo in Italy when I did the Marian Pilgrimage in 2017. Maybe on my next visit there, I will be able to go to his Shrine in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. The place is indeed very beautiful! Happy Saturday!
