I have flown this airline several times, and I flew it last week. I really like it for domestic low priced trips in Florida. I went to Key West; plane was on time there and back. I really have no problem with the airline. Great views at 10k feet. It is what it is.
That's cool, your camera caught the Prop angle change from taxi to take-off. A lot of people don't realize those things adjust depending on what's needed from the plane. Enjoyed the review. Never flown them, but always saw them around.
Nice review. I was just contemplating this airline from FLL to TPA but not sure anymore. Especially after saying passengers had to move from front to back for weight rebalancing...WAIT WHAT!😳 Would've been nice to see how big your roller is and how it looked after fitting it in the small overhead bin. That is another thing making me second guess flying with them.
Used them from Tampa to Nassau before no problems years ago. Booked another trip to Nassau again and now they cancled the Saturday flight a month out but I had to extend my trip and extra day to get out with Silver on Sunday. Biggest plus is a dirrect Nassau to Tampa flight with a toddler much prefered instead of dealing with connections.
Although I'm not addicted to my phone (I own a flip phone), wifi would be a great advantage, esp. as a bottle of water isn't going to keep somebody occupied.
09/01/23 i supposed to fly from JAX to new orleans and they resched my flight multiple times imagine my flight was supposed to be 3:45pm they let people wait until 8:30 at night not only that but when we already got boarded like literally people already sit down inside the plane and they told us to get out and we going to get resched to the point that they cancel the whole flight after more than 5 hrs plus rerouting takes atleast another 3 to 4 hrs just to get reroute not only that but they reroute my flight with multiple stop worst airline and worst service ever never ever to fly with silver airlines no more that will be my first and last time!
we were going to send my daughter from GSO to MCO. There were three flights with Silver that day. one to Nashville and two to MCO. They cancelled all three for the day. How do they stay in business? Money laundering racket?
@@JeffHokie I was going to use silver to fly from Greensboro to Tampa to see my friend who moved to the Tampa Bay area. It seemed like a winner to me at first because I could do a direct flight to Tampa out of Greensboro without a layover and cheaper than Delta, or having to drive to Charlotte just to get a direct flight. Anyway I went to book a flight just to find out they stopped servicing Greensboro, less than six months after they started there. They also terminated Nashville service around the same time. What's insane to me is that if you go on their Wikipedia page and look at how many Airports they've terminated service from, it's any wonder how they got that many airports are wanting them to begin with after seeing how many and how often they terminate service with.
Really} I’ve flown sliver from San Juan Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 to Saint Thomas United States Virgin Islands. 🇻🇮 I’ve never seen an issue, the scenery was spectacular and it was actually a FUN experience. The seats was comfortable, and whenever I lost my bag, the ground crew was able to get it withn 5 minutes, sliver airways is actually the best reigonal airline to be in Puerto Rico.
Even though they are probably just as safe as any other airline, this feeling of safety will depend on the person I’m afraid. Many people have an irrational fear of turboprop aircraft, even though they’re not any more dangerous than jets: if they were, they wouldn’t be allowed to fly at all. Many of these fears stem from older, less advanced turboprops, which had a reputation for being noisy and turbulent feeling. It’s why all the regional carriers that fly for the big airlines have switched to mostly Embraer jets.
From experience I made it to my destination safe but the anxiety you get while flying silver is crazy ! I’ve never been so scared in a plain. The landing process is crazy lol drops like 20 feet in the air feels like a roller coaster but I made it to my destination safely

I’ve had the same experience on approach in a few 70 or so seat Delta Connection (SkyWest) Embraer 175 regional jets at Redmond Municipal Airport near Bend, Oregon. That airport is known for its turbulent takeoffs and landings. In a smaller plane, you certainly feel it more, even if it’s a jet aircraft like the one I was on. I just had a similar experience on a plane on the very day I’m writing this comment, landing in Seattle. It wasn’t as extreme, but the plane seemed to lose altitude unusually quick three times on final approach, and the third time it happened we were extremely close to the ground, already over the runway. We somehow leveled off about a foot above the ground to make a surprisingly smooth touchdown, maybe even better than if nothing had ever happened. You might be surprised to know the aircraft I was in today was a Delta main-line Boeing 737-800: not giant, but still quite large in comparison to an ATR or Embraer.
You have no idea of the afternoon thunderstorms that affect the low flying ATR vs a 737 at 37,000 feet. Thunderstorms are daily and you seem extremely judgemental of the slightest defect. This was 10 minutes of complaining...
Sorry this wasn't your cup of tea, but I don't think thunderstorms explain everything here. Are thunderstorms the reason why Silver hasn't paid rent at FLL and is about to be evicted? Are thunderstorms the reason why a flight changed 5 times over 2 months beforehand? I enjoyed the flight. I like regional, quirky airlines like this. I want them to succeed. But I will always take the side of the end customer, the flyer. And if they aren't reliable, and it ruins your vacation (hence the 2 stars on TripAdvisor), I need to point it out.

Scheduled flight time on a jet (Spirit or Southwest) 1 hour 30 minutes. Scheduled flight time on Silver 2 hours 30 minutes😂 I don't care what the fare is, it's not worth taking an extra hour to get there. Plus having to board with the stairs😂 How is Silver even in business? lol
how is boarding with stairs an issue? how entitled you are. really pathetic really. you're a travel avgeek, but don't like walking out onto the ramp and seeing allll the planes in person live in front of you and hearing them all???? you don't like seeing your own plane in person and walking up to it? are u some posh king or prince or something?
The plane I flew in was kinda crusty, just dirty and worn out. Ripped shades, crumbs in the overhead bin somehow. Surprisingly the plane was only 5 years old

They also had a small luggage compartment in the cabin in the pink ATR I flew in.
I have been wanting to try these planes since they became available on MSFS. Thinking of taking the flight to Key West for a birthday present.

I don't buy a ticket on Silver if I really care about getting there. I'll end up buying a ticket on another airline to get there.
