Tks so much, that is soooo helpful and saved me a lot of pain. Just one thing to point out to others ....at 4:50 into the video you hit MENU and BASIC.....users should then also select the OSCILLATOR tab on the right. You had defaulted to it as you had been there the last time you used it whereas first timers will default to SOUND. Tks again for an excellent explanation.
I wish I can afford this machine. I have owned PA1, 2, 3 and 4X, but this 5X seem to be the answer I am looking for. This Korg is the most fantastic instrument of music mediation. I can just imagine the wonders of ist combination with Ableton Live Suit. This Korg is unbeatable. If only... but time will tell.
@@ForeverLearning It will be great to see it's combination (digitally) with X32 and Ableton live (with the Push) in a perfect intuitive preference setting for live performance. Could you possibly create such a video? Thank you.
@@jrf1962 I adore the machine but at your price, it will most probably remain a dream for me to own one. Unless I get miraculously blessed to own one. I wonder though, what on earth could make you sell off such a most valuable tool? I would never!
Nice video; you finally left me confused; with the various combinations. I don't think assigning a sample to the matrix will be that one heck of a job. The camera was not shaking, but the video was out of focus, so overall I'm left confused. Will have to read the manual that came with the instrument.
JagiChan - Yes so sorry for the focus. I couldn't use my normal recording rig due to location of this instrument so I set up a new cam which was out of focus. I think I apologize for the focus a couple of times in the video - but you should still be able to see how I was able to Add a Sample to the Matrix Pad. In the end of the video you will see Samples from Depeche Mode's People are People being called on from the Matrix Pads (1 thru 4) Unfortunately the Users Guide wasn't much help in loading these samples to the Pads. If you are still having problems after watching the video and following through step by step, please let me know and I'll do what I can to help. Lastly, I expect KORG will make better use of these Pads in the future. Once they start to utilize them more, I do believe they will likely come up with an easier means of assigning Samples to the Pads. For now though, if you want to to it - this is the way you will need to.
Apologies - I couldn't see the Auto Focus was messed up during recording. I purchased a special mount that should fix this issue for future videos - my apologies for the horrible display recording, I do hope it's good enough to walk you through the process.
@moogy77 0 seconds ago I've been trying to learn this FRIGGEN keyboard for over six months, and still having issues! Forget about trying to make a new style from scratch, or sample something and assigning it to a PAD!! I can get the president on the phone easier than this keyboard. I have the 76 and the action is the best action period. The Pa5x is wonderful sounding, and when you got a great style going it's a lot of fun. Korg, or someone needs to make a fully in-depth step by step how to for EVERY SINGEL ACTION PERIOD! Well I'll just keep on slugging it out.
Hey buddy, do you know how to delete a single instrument while recording is style? For example, when I record the drum tracks, let’s say that I want to delete just a kick or the snare how could I just delete one note or one piece of instrument not the whole track
Gret video on creating pasd. Do you have any video on importing a loop into a style? That would be aswesone. I have always used sampling function in PA4X but PA5X is much different. Thanks, Hanif
Because the sample must have the same beat of the Style. If you use a style that has different beat you have to put it like the beat of the sample, otherwise will not sync. So sample and style beat must be always the same.
Hello I'd like to send various samples of 4 min length through the pads for a show Is this sample length allowed ? Thanks for your help because I can't find this information anywhere
Hello, and thank you for the vid. Is it me, and is it 2023? All I want to do is take an mp3, and put it on a PAD!! Not build a ROCKET SHIP!! lol Am I wrong? I love the Pa5x, but Jesus Christ what a pain, and forget about making a bunch of these in one sitting.
Moog, I agree. I do think functionality as you describe will be coming with future updates. This is just how you will need to assign sounds to the pads today. The MATRIX Pad is new for KORG, I believe they will figure out how to utilize it better. Stay tuned.
@@ForeverLearning Thanks for getting back to me. Can I ask you a stupid question? I'm trying to change a sound on upper 3. I touch there I pick a new sound, and this where I'm not sure what to do. I think I'm saving it, but when I pull up the set, the original sound keeps coming back? Thanks.
I agree it should be simpler - but part of it has to do with the ability to change tempo and pitch with your sample I believe KORG will do a lot with these pads in the future. I just wanted to show how it could be done today
It is to complicated for me the PA5X how it works. I am disappointed I bought it. Wasted of time! THE MPC 61 Keys as a workstation is much intuitive to use. If anyone wanted I have one new for £ 3299.00 Delivery included. You must be in UK only.
I do think the process should have been easier - The Matrix Pads are a new concept for Korg, and I think (hope) they will streamline this in future updates. To me, a simple button linked to a file makes sense.
That was exactly why I made the video - I do hope Korg will make this process easier as they begin to implement the Matrix Pads. Time will tell, but I'm confident Korg will come through
I can understand how one might think that - but I play the two keyboards entirely differently. For exact sound replication I go to the KRONOS, but then I need to build backing tracks and sequences to play to. For just opening up and playing ANY song - I go to the Arranger. Honestly, lately I spend much more time on the Arranger
Honestly couldn't figure this out at all. On the Genos this is simple to do with multipads. Also because of the simple use of registrations you don't need 16 buttons. Each registration can have 4 different multipads, so that is 40 in one set of registrations. You simply trigger an audio file or trigger a pitched midi. Simple, end of. Not sure what Korg is doing here at all. I've used keyboards and synths all my life. This makes no sense at all. No one will use it. The build quality of the Pa5x is better than the Genos due to the case but the Genos has it beat hands down with simplicity of use. Hopefully Korg can massively improve the software. I'd like to see the matrix pads be used as registrations and/or trigger audio & midi files. Otherwise that section will never be used by myself.
For me the PA5X is complicated not intuitive. I prefer Roland I do not need to use even the manual. Unfortunately I do not like the orchestral sound of Roland . That's the reason I bought KORG. It was better the PA4X much more easy.

Thanks for the positive remarks on the Pa5X. Truly a great instrument. I'll try to get some more videos up, just let me know what you'd like to see.

thanks so much , how you doing to sync your pad with tempo ? Wave into Pad sync with beat?
There is HDMI on the 5X :)
