I would suggest you to add one more column for inflation adjusted return..assuming 6% inflation..the real rate of return would be somewhere around 1%..adding this to your excel sheet will give a real picture of actual returns🙏🙏
Yes you are right. But PPF also gives guaranteed return of the interest we already got and is non taxable as of today. But your points are also valid 👍

@@abhishekagrawal9950 ppf is a fix interest basis investment here rate of interest is decided by govt and they decided the rate on the basis of lot of factors not only inflation so your assumption is not correct so adding a extra coloumn fr inflation is baseless.yes if u want to make an assumption on mutual fund returns then u can add inflation or any other fctors

PPF long term ke liye hai.. FD short term ke liye hai. Goals pe depend karta hai aapko kaunsa choose Karna Chahiye. To know interest on both, calculations would be required to get exact figures based on goals and expected returns

I started monthly deposit from September 01, 2021 and next installments on 1st of every month till 15th year. 1st FY is 22-23. Sir i have 2 questions 1) In the extended period of block of 5 yrs after maturity .. the interest that we earn is it taxable or tax free..and if we make contributions in the extended period is it covered under 80c exemption 2) If I opt for the new tax slabs then will the interest and maturity amount still be tax free for 1st 15 years and even in extended period?
1. It is tax free. For extended as well 2. Interest and maturity will be tax free but you won't be able to claim deduction for your deposits in New Tax Slabs
As per Fin calc app, it seems that there are 16 installments considered. However lock in period of PPF is 15 years then why installments of 15 years are not considered? Can you please clarify?
yes that's because complete 15 financial years are considered. That's the reason, the FY you start PPF account in is not considered and from next FY the 15 years lock-in is counted. I hope this clears your doubt

Yes you can invest from October onwards. Make sure that you invest before 5th day of the month to get interest for that month. Regarding yearly or half yearly, it would be better if you do a lump sum investment if you don't need that money in near future. Just deposit before 5th day of the month. If the 5th day has passed, you can still invest but you'll get interest from next month onwards
Hi Sir,I have a big issue I wana share with u, can u please guide me when and which time I should invest in ppf. I deposited 1.5 lakh in two three installments of 1k in dec2022(31st December), 49k in January 2022(before 5th January) and 1lakh in feb(before 5 Feb), but at the end of March 2023, I couldn't get the interest on the basis of 7.10%, only I got is 2071 rupees only. Yes right.. for deposits from initial months of FY (April, may) you start getting interest every month. No need to worry, it will not make much difference and the good thing is you have started investing in PPF It's a long term game so keep saving once you accumulate enough amount. you can do that but you have to deposit minimum amount every FY to keep your account active. I think it is Rs. 500 or Rs. 1000 currently

As per Fin calc app, it seems that there are 16 installments considered. However lock in period of PPF is 15 years then why installments of 15 years are not considered? Can you please clarify?
yes that's because complete 15 financial years are considered. That's the reason, the FY you start PPF account in is not considered and from next FY the 15 years lock-in is counted. I hope this clears your doubt

You will get interest from the month you deposit depending on the date: before or after 5th..

Yes interest rate would change in every 3 months. For calculation and simplicity purpose I have kept same interest rate in example illustrated.
My ppf account inactive and mature on 01/04/2020 I have earn interest on my closing balance if not withdraw it ?
You can either withdraw after maturity or you can extend the account for 5 years with or without deposit

Yes you can invest from October onwards. Make sure that you invest before 5th day of the month to get interest for that month.
Regarding yearly or half yearly, it would be better if you do a lump sum investment if you don't need that money in near future. Just deposit before 5th day of the month. If the 5th day has passed, you can still invest but you'll get interest from next month onwards

Hi Sir,I have a big issue I wana share with u, can u please guide me when and which time I should invest in ppf.
I deposited 1.5 lakh in two three installments of 1k in dec2022(31st December), 49k in January 2022(before 5th January) and 1lakh in feb(before 5 Feb), but at the end of March 2023, I couldn't get the interest on the basis of 7.10%, only I got is 2071 rupees only. My balance was ₹1,52,071.00

Yes right.. for deposits from initial months of FY (April, may) you start getting interest every month.
No need to worry, it will not make much difference and the good thing is you have started investing in PPF
It's a long term game so keep saving once you accumulate enough amount.
