I love magnetic clasps. They will catch all by themselves like yours did in the beginning of this tutorial, which is great for me. I always have trouble attaching lobster claws and other types by myself. I like to think of the magnetic clasps as friends with each other and stick together no matter what! 😊

Very useful to see lots of the options you have - thanks! Using a chain as backup security is a great idea.

Have been using magnetic clasps for years and love them! I really like the glue in magnets I got from you!

I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one getting frustrated with magnets. Magnets and I seem to have a love-hate relationship. I love their look, how easy the are to put on when making your jewelry piece or wearing them. I hate them when they stick to my silverware or my friend's earrings, or when I leave my bracelet stuck to something and ended up without jewelry feeling naked. LOL!!! Adding chain is something I had thought about. I have to find the way to do it. In fact I have several bead crochet unfinished pieces that I need to work on and I'll put magnets on them!!!!

Lotsa fun in this video--my favorite part of using a magnetic clasp is trying to attach it to the project while everything else in the room is sticking to it--just like you illustrated!!!! Hahahaha :) :) :)

Thanks for this video ! I appreciate it.
I would like to use them on different necklaces. Specially to facilitate its use for people with disabilities and elderly.
I would like to know a little more about its use. Is there any risk that magnets are used in jewelry?
Thank you very much in advance.

I have rheumatoid arthritis and I'm putting magnetic clasps on everything I make 👏 They save my hands when putting on and removing my jewelry every day. Putting them on the jewelry is pretty fiddly, though 😆

Hi Allie thank you for this video :) my question is what type of chain would not bunch up on the magnet. I like adding a safety chain to bracelets with a magnetic clasp. I'm thinking it would need to be sterling silver?

Magnets attract iron, so any other metal won't stick to it.

Love using magnetic clasps! My mom especially loves them. My question would be about the strength of the magnet. As you demonstrated in the video, some are stronger than others and you also talked about the weight of the bracelet/necklace. I would like to use on with my Medic ID bracelet but I need a super strong magnet. Is there a way to measure and/or to know how strong a clasp is before it is purchased?

Not really, but if you give us a call, we might be able to help.

I work with magnets on bracelets and necklaces and I have a problem with the magnet coming apart on the bracelet when I bump up against something on accident, does that mean the magnet is not strong enough
