Thank you for checking out the cheapest rooms in the various casinos as it gives the average person a realistic view of what to expect if one stays there.

I know it's a cheesy place, but I LOVE the Luxor! It was one of the first hotel/casinos that I stayed at and actually won a nice jackpot there! Luxor has a place in my heart, forever! Thanks again, Ruby for a wonderful video!

Its worth noting the tower rooms are 100x better than these, pyramid rooms are just for novelty.

Hi Ruby I just got home this morning from a 4 night stay at The Luxor our room was in the tower it had 2 queen beds and we loved our room. It was spacious, clean, nice furnishings, I believe Luxor put us in a newly renovated room, also it had the best shower I ever used in Vegas, only disappointment was there was no fridge, but no big deal I would recommend staying at The Luxor, and your hotel/room tours are the BEST on all of u-tube! People don’t realize how hard and time consuming it is to pull off what you do. Thank you. Joanna from Canada 🇨🇦.

When I first moved to Southern Nevada, the Luxor was my home for the first week. The room rate was $30 and the resort fee was more than double that. The room was in the pyramid and comfortable and quiet. Enjoyed the content on this video, thanks for sharing.

Luxor, like Excalibur is still a massive cash cow. It will stick around as long as there are mid tier travelers/gamblers. I personally think it's a great property but not worthy of a resort fee

Hi Ruby! Thanks for going over the remodeled pyramid rooms. We've stayed in the pyramid several times and I love it. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but Luxor is usually my go-to hotel. I love walking the strip so maybe that's why.
    Can't wait to go back.

I normally stay at the Luxor because it is affordable. It has been a few years since I was last there and since I know that the rooms have been renovated, I just might have to stay there. Thanks for the update and I hope to stay at other resorts on the strip.

We spent a number of nights in the Pyramid rooms (with and without our kids) fifteen years ago (or so) before MGM took Luxor way downscale, and they were fine. As the property was neglected and much of the cool Egyptian stuff removed, we went elsewhere. The last time I stayed there (about 4-5 years ago, during a music festival), my "premier" Tower Room was expensive and beat to hell, with cracked bathroom tile, exposed wires and beat-up furniture.
It's good to see that some $ has been spent fixing up the Pyramid rooms and the property itself. Mr. Ruby's camerawork and your ebullent personality made the property look very enticing for mid-level players; they should conp you on your next visit!

As someone who stayed at neighboring Excalibur the last time I visited Vegas a few months ago, Luxor is by far a better quality hotel than Excalibur while remaining affordable for the average tourist. When it comes to Public House, absolutely love the food there. Thanks for providing a detailed review. I will definitely consider Luxor as one of the hotels to stay at the next time I am in Vegas. By the way, avoid staying at Excalibur at all costs when you are in Vegas because the quality isn't good and the hotel is relatively old (and needs a massive update or a new hotel needs to be built).

Diablo Cantina is probably the worst food I have ever eaten in my life. We stayed there in April and decided to eat there. Service to start was crappy, and we ordered the chicken fajitas and 2 margaritas. The margaritas were tiny and I don't think it had alcohol in it, the chicken was rubbery and had no flavor, none of it had flavor, and the tortillas were sweet for some reason. They didn't look like fresh tortillas. Being from Texas, I should have known better than to try it. All that and it came out to $76 .... complete rip-off. DO NOT GO THERE. Go to Mandalay or even Excalibur.

Great review, Ruby! I really like the Luxor, both to hang out in and to stay at, despite the location. The Bodies exhibition was really interesting. I stayed in an identical room in mid-November. According to the guys working on the rooms next door, my room was renovated the day before, so I was probably the first person to stay in it. On the surface I agree with you about the room. It's nice and I certainly went "wow" when I first walked in because I wasn't expecting it to look that nice. I'll also say that the bed was super comfortable too. Now, here's some picky ass old man stuff. The didn't swap out the old almond colored and kind of grungy electrical outlets and switches. That's a simple and inexpensive detail that should not have been overlooked. Secondly, the bathroom was gorgeous, but the half glass wall for the shower was sitting on a ledge that was sloped the wrong direction. So as you pointed out, this caused all the water that hit the glass to run out on the floor. Poor execution in putting that shower stall together. (I really hate those half-glassed showers anyway, give me a goddam door.) I definitely preferred my room at Bally's.
I also concur about the casino. I had a lot more fun - and luck - at Mandalay Bay. Drink service was better over there too.

We were so spoiled, we stayed in a tower suite the next six trips. The sports book, restaurants and coffee shop are great, and the access to Mandalay Bay and Excalibur make it even more appealing. Luxor has alright rooms and some of the best shows in Vegas, but I will admit the casino is a little lackluster (and a little crusty and grimy, when I visited 3 weeks ago). The HyperX Esports Arena is cool if you have kids or enjoy video video games, though.
I personally stayed north strip at the Sahara though...which has a monorail station that goes all the way South Strip to MGM Grand (near Luxor/Mandalay Bay/Excalibur, across the street), and a bunch of cool stops in between. Rooms are about the same but Sahara has more pillows on their bed, nicer Casino, Bazaar Meats luxury dining, and walking distance to Golden Steer Steakhouse - one of the best fine dining spots in Vegas! Also near cheap bus rides to Downtown Vegas, if you wanted to check out Fremont Street Experience.

Luxor is, in my opinion (as well), the best value hotel at the Las Vegas Strip (right on it). Whenever I hop to Vegas without a specific plan, Luxor is always a safe bet! It's clean. I love the (old) Pyramid rooms and not the (better) tower rooms. Never had an issue with cleanliness or anything like that ...
I love that the property is next door to the great Mandalay Bay. It's about a 30-minute walk to Bellagio and the famous water fountains.
There's enough things to do at Luxor (and especially if you consider the attached sister properties, like the Mandalay Bay and Excalibur (that I absolutely despise) - in that case there's enough things to do, restaurants to try to fill an entire extended weekend.

Yes! That’s exactly why my husband and I stay there. And that’s exactly why we’re going to start staying somewhere else. We love the Luxor. It’s our place. But we’re tired of walking so much. We will still go back for gambling and shows. But we want to try New York New York next. Still affordable and a lot more centralized.

Small room, get anything south end you will roast if you open curtain. and the glass has mineral deposits on it. But.... It's a room and vegas. For few nights it's ok. The tower rooms are better. My sister stayed and battery on the door went dead. They had to sit in the hall for 4 hours till maint got it changed out. It took a lot to get back in.

The Luxor is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life! It was disgusting, super loud construction, dark, trash everywhere. I don’t know where y’all are staying but it can not be the Luxor. Yuck!

I don't know why I thought the pyramid would have nicer rooms than the towers. I should have known by price. Definitely affordable but we missed a fridge and coffee maker/anything to warm water.
I was also expecting they'd have a flyer or something listing Luxor attractions, amenities, sevices, or deals, but nope. Just the standard Vegas magazine.
The slanted room gimmick and inclinators were part of why I wanted Luxor to be the first place I stayed with my fiancé, but the magic just wasn't the same as when I had been in the 90s and even early 2000s.
Wish I saw this review before 😅
    Thanks for the great video!

Glad that they have renovated the Pyramid rooms. I have stayed in both tower and pyramid rooms. The indoor walkways are convenient to go to Mandalay Bay and Excalibur.

Hi Mr and Mrs Ruby. We always see myvegas deals on the Luxor but never stayed. I too don't find the casino too exciting (but that is COVID Vegas right now) Based on your review we will consider it as we just stayed at Park MGM and were Ceasar's resorts people, however based on the recent reviews (and take over/sale of Cesar's properties) we are looking at MGM hotels instead. Luxor is fine I think for a home base, it is 30 minutes to mid strip walking for me which is where I do most of my action, also good location for other places such as NYNY or Mandalay Bay.

We stayed at the Luxor a very long time ago. I remember taking a boat ride inside (around the lobby) with narration and going inside King Tut's tomb. It was fun. I hear it's not there anymore.

I hate the NO Door Showers! It's in almost every Hotel out there now! Are they too cheap to buy the door or has housekeeping just been lousy at keeping the door and hinges clean? I just feel like it's a freeze out especially when it's a hotel with low water pressure or just not very hot water to begin with like the old Monté Carlo use to be! We were booked for 8 nights on a 9 day trip and after morning 2 and switching rooms on our very 1st night due to no hot water we got refunded and moved over to the Flamingo, they took that chance to really go over and above when I called over there and explained our situation and still having so many nights left in our trip cause for $29 a night(no resort fees back then) they put us up in a one bedroom suite with a large media area with sofas and a very nice bar with both a personal refrigerator and a pricey mini bar fridge! That was an amazing High Roller suite(before the Faris wheel) cause we tried to book it a few months later and were told that room is not for rent. Vegas sure has changed since then! Not for the better unfortunately. The extra fee's in these hotels have made any Vegas 3 times higher than the booking price. Our waitress last night had just went for her 21st birthday with a few of her friends and none of them paid attention to the fine print when they booked their trip! They thought since they did a package the car was paid for completely and it was all good but found out nobody was 25 so they couldn't rent one. They didn't know about resort fees or the extra taxes they pay when they checked in and thought all drinks were free once they got there, those girls had a very rude awakening of the true cost of Vegas. With all the info on their smart phones they never put down none of them did any research and had Vegas so built up in their heads they were very disappointed, broke, and had blisters on their feet because they thought everything was close together and only took their cute shoes and heels to go clubbing that they didn't even do! I laughed and told her she has to go do Vegas with me and I will show her how to go to Vegas and not break the bank and now she gets how pricey it really is and can save the proper amount of money to enjoy herself without high expectations that movies give them! Lol 😆
RULE #1 FOR ANY TRIP TO VEGAS IS COMFORTABLE SHOES FOR MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF WALKING! Cute shoes or boots just won't cut it!

nothing wrong with that room, always wanted to stay at the Luxor. Only other time I went to vegas we stayed at MGM in their "cheapest" room, which was about the size of my closet at home, and the bathroom was an open one, which I hated. Playing the tables is the easiest way for me to drink, I try never to "pay" for that when I'm at a casino (other than tipping the waitress)

I love the luxor and ive booked a pyramid room for june for 8 days. But! Im thinking of changing to planet hollywood as being centre strip is so tempting. I like the idea of being near miracle mile shops too. Whats stopping me is the pool! Love luxor pool and with the free chairs too. Planet hollywood looks ok but just not sure what to do to give me the best vacation 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Hi ruby we stayed there thanksgiving weekend we had to get a different room when we got to our 1st room they said it was ready and it was not. There was used popcorn buckets and water bottles and the restroom trash wasn’t empty. Went back down to check in and told them and they upgraded us to a tower room and waved the one night resort fee. I will not do mobile check in again. And I’m a mlife member and this was our first bad room we have ever had. And we go to Vegas a lot.
